Bert, I think I am pretty sure it was Jeremy's friend that bought it. He has been to the last two driveins (even though the last one should only count as half). I think that is where the rotary fever hit him. So he should be adding another FC to our group.

just as a side note: it seems like i have been seeing a bunch of 1st gens lately.

oh and be careful on the roads. i got pulled for 80 in a 55, coming off a ramp, by an unmarked white camaro with a officer in a polo shirt. Like a dumbass, I saw him in my rear view and thought; meh, just another white camaro. fortunately, he let me go with a warning and a 15 minute lecture, which i was happy to take vs. the ticket.

GTU pulled out of the driveway this morning with a different owner. Ray is very happy and excited with his new car. He said he is definently going to keep coming to the driveins. Watching him reminded me of when i first got the car, it was my first rx-7, I was happy as hell when i got that car. But i'm happy I built the thing, i wouldn't have done it anyother way. I only have two rx-7s sitting at the house now, seems kind of lonely.

Steve,
Now I've got you beat by one! I'm still going to talk to you about the s-afc install, I want to get some 720's for it first. I bought 1600's not realizing the afc wouldn't reduce the flow enough. That's how I typcally learn things. It usually cost $ but I dont forget. I hope to see yall at the next meet.

Josh
I like how you avoid my comments about you and the young girls, I'm just kidding by the way,

Sorry with NCSU starting back up i havent been on the forum since sunday......i was at capital from like 11-1230, but a TON of cops, as in 2 busts, one at mars, one at wendys, how annoying...anyways ray came over today so we could replace the rusted window sills with new ones from al smith mazda...i told him i will whup his *** if i ever see those silencers in tha N1s again lol...speaking of N1s, my 3" system came in tuesday, but still no headers dammit i been staring at a muffler for 2 days now....but to keep everyone updated a paint job is in the very near future for steve's old fc beast. He loves the thing steve, that is a sweet car bro

Johny, i try to keep the young girl thing on the DL, don't wanna get busted.

Jeremy, I know Ray wants to paint the FC another color, but my best advice to him is to keep it white(even if it is a slightly different shade), unless he is prepared to either a) pay big $$$$ or b) strip the car down. all the jams, cracks, and crevices would have to be painted in order to make the car match and look right. That is just my 2 cents.

bluslydr:
Merge onto I-40 W via exit number 81 toward RALEIGH.
Merge onto I-440 E via exit number 301.
Merge onto GLENWOOD AVE/NC-50 N/US-70 W via exit number 7B toward CRABTREE VALLEY/DURHAM.
Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto CREEDMOOR RD/NC-50 N.
Turn RIGHT onto STRICKLAND RD
About 2-3 miles down on the right you will see a CharGrill.

We meet every 2nd & 4th Saturday of the month. Next drive-in will be on August 28th @ 6:30PM. Hope you can make it.

Don't know the zip for that area, but if you're coming from G'boro area come down I-40 East and take the I-540 exit. Stay on 540 around north Raleigh and get off at the Six Forks Road exit and stay to the right onto Six Forks south. Turn right at the second traffic light, about half a mile, and turn right onto Strickland Road. The Char Grill will be on left at the first traffic light you come to on Strickland.

Lookin' forward to meeting you. We should have a good turnout since it has been awhile since the last Drive-in.

Well, I'm the guy who bought Steve's old FC (Ray). Getting used to that clutch has been an adjustment. I'm by no means smooth with it--ask Jeremy. Honestly, my foot's tired right now. Still, we replaced the rust on the doors and I've already gotten a quote from the Maaco on Trinity Road to get a new paint job and rust removal. I've decided not to change the color because I honestly can't spend that kind of money. He wanted $408 for the paint job ($250ish) and getting the deep rust spots out of the sunroof, which he said does not need a new panel. If anyone knows a good paint/body shop that can potentially do it for cheaper let me know.

Jeremy will be annoyed to know that I put the silencers back on today--I went to a friend's house last night and his neighbors bitched at him the next day for the car being so loud, plus it literally makes the entire car vibrate slightly while crusing. I've decided I'm going to try and get a job on campus so I don't have to drive the car so much. I'd like it to last a long time without needing maintainance too soon.

Ray, welcome to the forum and congrats on the buy. I dont think you have to worry about that FC giving you any major problems in the near future. Drive it, enjoy it, hit the gym for some leg exercises, and leave the silencers out so you can annoy the neighbors.

See you at the next meet.

Welcome to the wonderful world of rotary ownership, the rotary now owns you! Oh, an don't worry about the idiot neighbor that complained, he saw that car and is just naturally jealous and angry 'cause he realized that his main ride is a minivan while you're driving an RX7 FC. It happens all the time and is now a fact of your new life.

We're counting on seeing you at the Drive-Ins, if for no other reason so that the Durham crew can see their baby every two weeks. I thought Dave was gonna have a serious breakdown after the GXL was sold.

Just one word on the repaint, don't know if Maaco offers it but there is a guy in Rocky Mount that bought a sweet white FC several years ago and found the perfect new color for it. Check out Lexus Pearl White. He goes by Batguano on the forum. I have seen this color on his car, it is beautiful and is real close to the white in the engine bay and other places that won't get painted.

Maybe we can get him to bring it over for the 8/28 drive-in.

Again welcome Ray.

I looked at my schedule for next week, and I might actually be able to come to the next drive in, usually I'm working on Saturday nights. I'll have to check the exact time I get off that day to be sure.

Come on down. It appears that we're gonna have a real good turnout for the 28th. We'll probably have enough turnout to do a giveaway of the spark plug wires RotorSports Racing has offered. Also will be getting a group buy together for these wires from RSR. Hope you can make it.

I'll also make an effort to get an idea of who will be going up to VIR for the Grand AM racing on 10/3 and support the SpeedSource RX8 racing team.

ray- i seriously doubt you'll get a paint job thats decent for less than 500$. i wouldnt really trust a 500$ job's quality. jeremy can be mad that you took the silencers out but he probably wont be when he rides in the car, they make one hell of a difference. still debating the 28th's meet. i wont have anything to drive and who knows if im working or not. still waitin on some money from the damn red car!!!! ahh, i want that car out of our hair so we can get some new toys. steves got a new project at the house now, tyler, or maxduo, just brought one hella clean gold T2 that he bought from McNairs out near the angus barn over earlier this week. she's due for a rebuild and anything else needed to hit the street packin a streetport. it should be pretty bad ***!
