You might want to try using some SeaFoam. I've used it before and I can't say that I noticed any difference (which could be a good thing), but it's worth a shot. Search around for it's use beyond the typical dump it in your gas tank and fill up sort of thing. I think one of it's uses involve pouring a bit directly into the rotor housing via the spark plug holes. Another option would be the "water treatment." A scary concept to say the least, but it involves pulling a vacuum line and letting it suck in ~1 gallon of water. You have to have two people for this sort of a treatment though. The car will idle like total *** and you need someone to keep on the gas just enough to keep it from dying.

The suck it in method is a lot of fun. Go get the liquid version of seafoam and pull a vacuum line that sees vacuum from behind the TB. Next dip the vacuumline into the bottle of seafoam and use your otherhand to modulate the throttle to keep the engine running. You want to suck up about 2/3 of the bottle using this method. With the las 1/4-1/3 of the bottle just drop the tube into the liquid and let the engine stall. Then just let the engine sit for 5 minutes.
When you try to start the engine I suggest stepping on the gas pedal like you were de-flooding. thats because the engine WONT start at first and if you dont cut the fuel you might actually flood the engine. After to have cranked the engine for a few second give it gas and be prepared to give it throttle if it has a hard time starting and running. Its very likely that you will get a LOT of very black smoke coming out of your exhaust. Thats all the carbon burnign out of your engine. thats the fun part. Drive the car are pour huge clouds of smoke out of the tail pipe. When it stops smoking take it home and change the oil. Oh, and its more like a pint, not a gallon.
BTW: Have we decided where we are staying for DGRR? if we are going to stay at Fontana does anyone want a roommate? Im clean and I dont fart a lot.

Damn, FD clutches are expensive. On the FB and Miata, you can pick up Exedy (they make the OEM clutch) kits for 100-150, for everything.
Sorry I can't be of any real help though.

About getting the seals unstuck...Rich is a real good guy and very knowledgeable rotary mechanic, so if he says water is OK I believe him. Hell, I'm running water injection someday anyway. But, I will look at the seafoam option though. Where can I get it? Rich told me to have someone keep the RPMs at about 2K also, to keep the engine running while putting the water in, but I didn't think about just using my other hand on the throttle cable either.
Phil, if you're just going with stock parts for the clutch you might get better prices at Mazdatrix...

Hell, that means you can probably find a cheap Exedy OEM kit, or just go with an ACT street strip for about the same price as an OEM clutch at the dealer.

^Oh I didn't even notice that. Well, maybe he CAN get it cheaper at Advance or somewhere then.
Alright, as if last night wasn't bad enough with the car breaking down (oh yeah, we were at a light while towing it home, and I could swear this guy in a nice RX-8 that pulled along side shook his head as he was passing me, haha), I had a bad night again. Kinda had some words with some Dairy Queen employees...but I'll tell that story this weekend. It's a gem, I promise you that!

TII clutch is a different diameter than an NA clutch and wont work without a TII flywheel and pressure plate IIRC. Rotaryresurrection.com has a very detailed writeup on the differences between the NA and TII tranny's. I know for a fact you cant just put a TII clutch on an NA tranny. It might be that its impossible period de to different splining.
