Right now the price would stand at $350 room. So anyone who needs some privacy will be paying a premium

Josh Thanks for the offer, but I won't be going to the Gap.
And since everyone is being honest, open and blunt.

Ill probably Never visit Deals gap again.

Looks like a cluster **** again, I would suggest whom ever books the mansion be very careful so as not to get raped.

I could elaborate for a few paragraphs but since this whole thread is full of negative post's Ill pass.

Phil thanks for the effort last year.

Eric, Nic, Jason, and all othe military personel Thank you guys for defending our freedom despite how screwed up our Commandor in cheif is!

sorry to hear it johny. i know there are several reasons why you aren't going. not the least of which is the fact that you don't endorse illegal street activity. (as well as the burn you took on the mansion last year)

i suppose if i wanna see you i am going to have to go to Virginia.

Id be down for whatever. the mansion was fun last year, I enjoyed it, but if its too much trouble or people are worried about getting screwed on cash then fontana is acceptable. Hell I might just camp out at the national forest camp ground there. Would be a hell of a lot cheaper.

Redneck: I did Thurs, friday, and left saturday last year and it was definitely worth the time to me. This time around though Im going to plan for the whole weekend.

Eric, it didn't even have A bushing. There was NOTHING in there. I actually snagged some Lucas gear oil and I'm going to take it apart again to put that in the shift tower. I got a Bosch O2 sensor and I can't get the other damn one out. I'm also finally going to do what I should have done and get rid of that exhaust tomorrow. I'm going to just go to stock. I'll tell everyone about the debacle this weekend. I don't feel like typing all of it here.

Post-It notes:
O2 sensors suck
Timers for lava lamps rock (won't burn apartment down)
I'm drowning in clean laundry
Plants everywhere
Previous owners suck
Cannons for exhaust suck
These notes are longer than my regular post and don't summarize anything

Might be such a waste of gas cause it's a big V8...oh wait, somehow 1308cc takes up alot of gas too, haha. My bad.

I agree, driving is the main reason I go, it's just nice to go with some close friends too.

I only paid you $100 for two people? I thought I paid $200 for both of us. OK then, well maybe it isn't as good as last year but it's still not a bad price. Like I told you before Johny, I'd be more than happy to give you some more cash for last year, I didn't know what happened for quite a while afterward. I think we're doing it a little differently this year, making sure everyone pays BEFORE the trip. I really wish you'd change your mind about going too, it was great having you there last year, but I don't knock you for not wanting to go.

I thought you said you were going somewhere else? Oh well, you're still getting to go, and I'm left here...ho hum. So you're not gonna make it to DGRR again this year, that sucks.

Actually that doesn't sound like a bad idea either. I haven't been camping in a LONG time.

O2 sensors suck -actually they meter
Timers for lava lamps rock (won't burn apartment down) -I'd ask Greg about this, he was around when they first came out ooooooh burn! Just kiddin, love ya Greg
I'm drowning in clean laundry -would you rather drown in boxers with skidmarks?
Plants everywhere -what KIND of plants Phillip?
Previous owners suck -absolutely
Cannons for exhaust suck -glad you finally figured that out, haha
These notes are longer than my regular post and don't summarize anything -that is just hilarious, haha
Yeah I didn't have the bushing either, I was wondering why it was so damn sloppy, haha.

.

It wouldnt be much fun unless we could get a few hard drinkin idiots to camp there as well. If a few people wanted to get involved I would totally be down for camping there. Save the money on the hotel for gas.

But I second the opinion that I am there to drive first, socialize second. Last year I annoyed everyone on friday until Jeremy and I both started bitching and got everyone in their cars to start driving.

Josh, I'm not opposed to travling to Raliegh, Ill make the trip sometime.

I won't be doing the drive the backroads like an idiot thing though.

I do worry about you guys doing that the potential for bad things to happen is great.
The same with the Gap, Ill save my spirited driving for VIR, not saying I won't dish out an occasional whoopin, or air her out some just not in a line of 15 cars where Im trusting everone.

Id like to know you feeling on the non rotary engine in th FD, hows it feel? do you miss boost?

Take care
Merry Christmas

That is also one of my concern about this event.. People driving nuts on a public road.. I'm about to pick up my third third gen to be used solely as a track car.. So, I might come out to VIR and join you and Fritz.

Geez, again I go away for a few days and the forum explodes haha. Thanks for the congrats everyone . Sorry to hear about DGRR. FWIW, I would have been at the village again this year (2 years in a row at the village and haven't had any negative experiences there w00t). I go to the village because it's more cost effective for me to split the cost of a cabin than it is to get a room at the mansion (the woman doesn't think highly of floor spots). To dispense an additional $.02, I go to the gap for a) spirited driving in a unique area, b) relaxing and doing things other than driving (sight seeing with the woman, rafting, hiking, blazing marshmallows, and other things sort of like what the rx8 community does), c) fellowshipping with rotary owners outside of the Raleigh group at the sanctioned events. I can see you Raleigh guys on any given 2nd or 4th saturday .

Cliff notes:
None... read the post! haha.

I feel the same way, but I also enjoy spending time with my Rotary Family from here in Raleigh, and doing things together for quality time.

I'm kinda stuck between either option, because I want to do both.

I can't wait til Saturday's party!! Christmas is almost here!!

Here you go Nic, hopefully this will be in your engine bay when you get back from Afghanistan. I'll second Johny on the comment about the military. Big thanks to the US armed forces for defending our freedom and freedom of mankind around the world.

What's up with the Cliff notes now everyone? Is that a new forum rule or just something someone started doing and it's caught on with us? I think I might have done it too, I'm just curious, haha.

Don't Do This Again

I have been taking some time off from reality and doing some Christmas shopping and enjoying the Christmas season and spirit of love and giving. Today I signed on during my lunch break to chatch up and can't believe what I've read on the last several pages. We need to have a long and blunt discussion at our January meets concerning what has just happened over the last couple of days on this forum. I will not say more publicly simply because this forum is not the place to do it.

I am going to ask the SE forum moderators to delete the last few pages because what happened, shouldn't have happened and I am embarrassed that it did.

I feel this is a good idea only for the fact that potential new members could be scared off from the drama. None of us are ********, but we may present ourselves that way to those who weren't part of the whole story.

Each person involved is a great car guy, and cares alot for his friends and for the Rotary Community. I'm sorry it turned into such a catastrophe. Everything turned around alright, and I'm very proud of all of us for resolving things so quickly.

Understand what you're saying and agree. We need to understand the DGRR is not our event. If we attend and participate we abide by the plans made and the wishes of the orgranizers or we can choose individually not to participate. 'nough said on this forum.

Merry Christmas everyone!

agreed. i guess i forget sometimes this a public forum, and so i treat it similarly to one of our meets, thinking that we are the only ones reading.

you are right it isn't our event. i am sure i will have more to say in January.

^ That looks like a 4 port though...

I'm pretty much indifferent about the mansion vs. Fontana thing. I'm not even 100% sure I'm going anyway. I
