Wow 50%? I begged and begged to get bigger discount but no luck. They kept telling be about the season and also the renovation. If you could tell me what group it was and I could ask them..
I'm not saying I'm doing a good job this year organizing... but hope some of you understand, I'm doing this for nothing... and there are days when I wonder why I'm even spending time on this.. instead of working on my car or spending time with my love one.
I also agree with Josh's earlier statement.. in some ways, i don't care how many people attend.. And part of me just want to go up there with few close rotary guys I know and just chill..

Now, I don't know if Fontana is picking and choosing who gets the best deal but I think it's BS! I still want attend the event but by the looks of things I'll be spending my spring time in Afghanistan!
Just wanted to through my 2 cents in also, since everyone else did...haha!

Yeah, we CAN go again in June, but we're going in April too. I'm not going to be bullied into staying at the cabins or anywhere else if my friends are interested in staying at the mansion again. Like I said, I've been trying to go back all year, and aside from the 8 club, have we, NO, not that I've seen (thanks again JOSH, haha). So yeah, if others are interested in staying at the mansion again this year, that's where I'm staying.
I'd love for the Raleigh group to have quality time like we did this year. We've done nothing but talk about the fun shenanigans all year since then! That's what I want again this coming year. Wherever we stay. I'm sorry if I've upset anyone. I was just trying to keep this from becoming another catastrophe like this past year.

OK. Much love. Hopefully this will work out. I'd like for the Raleigh group to have a good time together and make some good memories out of the upcoming events. If we want to stay at the mansion during DGRR, then all we need to do is communicate that to the rest of the planners, so they will be able to budget it fairly. /rant again

Obviously we all are selfish and do what we want to do.
Phil, I do see where you're coming from, and part of me agrees with Greg, that it might be kinda cool to hang out with people from other groups. It's not so much about what condition the rooms are in, I've never seen the place so I can only make assumptions from other's description of how it is. It's more about staying somewhere with close friends in more of a house-like setting, something more open than having to jump from room to room to hang out. I had alot of fun this year hanging out with RRDI at the mansion, and as I'm sure you can tell, I'm sick and tired of people telling me where I should stay. I can handle that at work, I knew what I was getting into when I signed the papers. But to attend something like this and choose to bow out if I want? If that makes me selfish then so be it. If you don't want to put these things together, DON'T. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. I'll go when I want and with close friends, and stay where the **** I want. Like I said, I appreciate you doing this, even if I don't attend ALL the events, but I don't like being called selfish just because I want to do my own thing sometimes. I think you did a good job last year (all I saw was the luncheon but I thought it was well planned), but I think you should spend more time working on your car or with your loved ones, honestly. You'll never get that time back, and for what, putting this stuff together for selfish people like myself? All I would do is let everyone know that we'll be going up there at such and such time and let everyone do their own thing from their on. If they want to be there, fine, if not, that's fine too. Just go with the flow ya know?

So what's wrong with us staying at the mansion just as long as we communicate that the Raleigh group will be joining the other groups for meals? That's my main goal out of all of what I said earlier... and somehow it got lost in my rantage.

as far as the DGRR thing. it wasn't my intention to cause phil to quit. though if he was that close to the edge, i can only imagine that this was only the straw that broke the camel's back.
i wanted to get the ball rolling on the mansion, make sure we got it booked, and payed for, so that nobody got burned like last year. if i was too aggressive, i apologize to you guys.

This has nothing to do with the subject above but:
I stopped by RotorSports Racing for the first time today and all of the good things I have been hearing about them is true. Bryan, a long time friend of the family's gave me a tour of the shop and the level of attention to detail that goes on there. FD's were all over the place!!! I'm going to try to save up some money and get a single turbo done there in the future!

Oh yeah, and Eric...you are insane. I've never heard of someone really WANTING to be deployed. The only thing I've ever heard of someone REALLY wanting to deploy is a parachute.

Nobody needs to be sick for Christmas!!! There's alot going around right now, too.
If people want to bring a couple of movies, then we can gather at someone's house and watch a movie after we leave Ruby Tuesdays. We can all kinda vote on one or two movies, and just hang out.
I'll see if my parents would be okay with that. Mom's pretty excited about the new furniture, anyway.
And again... RSVP by Monday so I can get a headcount.

For those attending post dinner movie(s) this saturday, I will have Diet Dr Pepper for Sodas (I'll stop and pick up some other general soda types drink, let know if there is anything specific requests). I also have some snacks left from the last Movie night I had for a few co-workers. Feel free to bring anything specififc you would like to snack on.
