Honestly I would be more comfortable around midnight than at 7 pm. Dusk and just after dusk are the worst times for deer. that is when they are most active. At 12 they are pretty much asleep.

Muah ha ha ha ha...Guess what?! I hunted down a beautiful white ~'90ish 7 today. I saw the car parked at Best Buy while I was buying a stylus for my computer (which is awesome, though I'm still getting used to it.) Anyway, as I'm coming back I notice the 7 is gone and so I figure I wouldn't get the chance to chat. Well, as I'm pulling out, I see it. After some quick lane changes and stalking, I pull up next to them at Circuit City. Saw this young guy and his father in the car. The car belongs to the "kid" and so I just tell him about this thread and our meetings. I let him know about our drive this Saturday and hopefully he'll show up. Another thing, I know I shouldn't have done this, but do you guys remember the Porsche guy that showed up at one of the meets? Anyway, I was talking about the drive and he seemed really interested in it since we've been trying to decipher the Bert Map. Now that we are doing the drive, I knew he'd like to come along. Of course he'll stay in the back since this is OUR thing.

Also, Bert, when you got your engine rebuilt did you go the reman route? I'm researching and trying to figure out what REALLY constitutes a "reman" engine vs. a rebuild. I'd like to get more than a year out of my "new" engine...

okay, not that it is even exciting anymore, but the car should be making her debut this weekend. going to the exhaust and alignment this week. other than that she is done, more or less, we'll just say she runs without problems.
i changed jobs, so now i have all my weekends again. i should be able to actually make some meets. that is if i am allowed. lol

Finally Josh, DAMN! Haha. Well, I have some so-so news. I may not be able to make the Holiday Laps Friday, for one because I'm not sure if I can get off work (I can if I can get all my work done for the exercise next week), and two because we're having our Christmas dinner Friday night. So, if I can get all my work done, go to VIR and get back for Christmas dinner, it's a go. About what time is the earliest person planning on heading back, has anyone decided yet? We were going to have the dinner on Saturday but I expressed concern that I wasn't going to be able to make the dinner because of the drive, but I made the same comment about Friday too though, haha. We'll see. My car got a little squirrelly yesterday in the rain when my second turbo kicked in, I was so happy, haha. It feels like it has so much kick now, I'm ecstatic. Can't wait for Friday and/or Saturday.
Also, we lost another person this weekend. That's two in 3 months time, the young Airman that died in the crash on Sept 1st and the TSgt this weekend that died from a number of things. She was sick in the hospital for a long time. She's had Jaundice for years, she was always going to Bragg for blood transfusions, and she went to the hospital months ago for a bone marrow transplant and got chemo treatment afterward, which killed her immune system and when she got an infection in one of her lungs she was unable to fight it, so she passed away this Sat. afternoon. It's starting to feel like Final Destination around here, I'm just wondering who's next.

Ok, you guys have been given long enough to think of cheap mufflers for me. Could I get away with anything from say Midas or Meineke (spelling?) or do I need something specific to make my car sound less like a hive of bumblebees in my ear. I know we have lawnmowers, but damn, mine are a little TOO loud.

Ha ha! It's your birthday?!?! Loser! You'd better be going to VIR. I need a car that I can scream inside while zooming around the track. I think my apex seals are scared of the track.

Do you work in an Air Force hospital? I have a good friend that's in the Air Force and works as a RT in their hospitals.

Parts/labor/tuning was around 5 grand if I recall, was 6 years ago... worth every penny.
