Alright, the whistle is fixed, but I'm still not getting all the boost. I'm getting about 10psi through most gears, but being that I replaced the downpipe I should be getting more now, and it's not dropping down to 8psi in second gear, which really doesn't make sense. Anyhoo, the whistle is gone so I'm happy. I'm going to check those two hoses with the restrictor pills again, probably get the Holley jets I need to replace them completely so I KNOW they're right.

^The boost problem, one of them anyway. Under boost the car would whistle REALLY loud. That's what I used as a diversion to pass people, but I guess I'll actually have to make the car fast now. Dammit.

I liked the banshee-powered FD. Sounded like a damn missle when you passed me going on 40. Screw you LS1 people out there. *sniffle* I want one... *sniffle* Did I say that?

We Need A Rotary Education Exhibit
I meant to tell everyone during lunch on Saturday that I had met a couple that was admiring the miatas in the Japanese Sports Car class and the man was telling his wife that the miatas had the Wankel Rotary Engine but he didn't think that the ones at the car show had that engine. I introduced myself and told him I was a member of the RRDI and that we drove rotary engined RX-7s and RX-8s. I answered his questions about the rotary engined cars but that reinforced the idea of our group putting together a Wankel Rotary Education Exhibit that we could take with us to shows and other places to educate other car people on why we represent a totally unique branch of the automotive family tree.
I have found several very good digital animations online that could be used on a laptop to show and explaing the workings of a rotary engine and we could develop a brochure on the engine as well as have a stripped down example of a rotary to show people the actual size and weight of the engine cell and be able to take the front off to show the rotors and how they work.
I know Josh has a spare engine that he is trying to get rid of, we can develop a simple brochure and I think we can down load the rotary engine animations to a CD and and develop a power point presentation that we could run on a laptop or old PC. Anyone interested in working on these ideas?
I'd like to do the exhibit in conjunction with us putting some nice exmaples of each generation or Mazda rotary powered cars in the car show.
What do y'all think.

That whistle was being caused by me, screaming when I was in his car. It was a mix of fear and fun. Fear of the pulsation damper and fun thinking "this is the way I want to die."

As far as teaching people about these engines, the Dorito/stick method works best. There is a guy on these forums that has an avatar (I saved it) that has two Doritos on a stick. By far one of the funniest but useful pictures of the engine.

"That engine is already spoken for Bert, I'm just trying to get the money together, and for something else to come together first, Josh knows what I'm talking about, haha."
I've heard that rumor, but spoken for ain't paid for! Now remember who you're dealing with, a man that would, without a second thought, gut a 3rd Gen and put a piston engine in it - do you think for a minute that such a person has any scrupples and wouldn't sell that engine to the first guy that comes up with the money?
"I like the idea of doing that but I worry that the people wouldn't really be interested in learning about it, that they might feel like they HAVE to stay and check it out." Well yeah, that's why we'd have to bring along a nice sturdy chair with wrist and ankle straps and anchor it in the ground real good!
"And how would we transport it?" Well, I hear that Nic can load stuff on a missle
rail, I'd put him in charge of loading and transport.
"I always teach anyone with an open ear about rotaries though, but it's helpful to be near a computer so we can get on howstuffworks.com, haha." Well, did I just see someone take a giant step forward when he heard "do I have any volunteers to man the exhibit?" I think you just qualified yourself to staff the exhibit, strap our audience in the chair, and answer all their questions about rotaries. Just think you'll get closer to Josh's rotary engine this way since its going to be setting in his garage in Clayton for a long time unless I buy it.
Anymore questions airman? And thanks for volunteering!
And Phil, thanks for volunteering to bring the party favors - DORITOS AND TOOTH PICKS.

Thanks Josh, I wasn't really worried cause I knew you wouldn't do that to your brother, haha. And I try to call you all the time, you're the one that doesn't answer! Haha. And I thought we were gonna make it to Deal's Gap again before the end of the year?? Are you still up for it, cause I am. As soon as we do that trip, if we do, I'm hoping to have all the money together for everything I need, and I'm downing the car all winter to build it for the April trip. Uh, after Holiday Laps if I can make it up there for that, haha.

Havent sold the vert, bought a streetported/BP auxport. Working on getting the fuel system sorted out so that it will pull past 6000 rpms. Turns out the N/A fuel pump on a 150k mile car doesnt have the umph to keep pressure up. Or thats the assumption I am operating under. Was planning on doing the fuel system either way and going to 550cc secondaries, so might as well start there.
Alex is still interested in the vert and the guy whos turbo I was looking at is still interested. So hopefully Ill move it relatively soon.

Well as appetizing as that sounds Josh, I do value my sleep, and even moreso my "me" time, haha. I would say a regular weekend at least, if we have one that's not too cold up there and not real wet. I would like to run one long day or maybe two days. I just want to test the car the way it is now before putting it down for the winter, if I get all the money together that is. Let me know what you want to do.

Hey guys. Just got my Powerslot rotors put on (don't be irritated Eric, I just wanted it done quickly in one day with little problems. Not saying you'd create problems, but...this hole is just getting deeper...) and Hawk HPS pads. Also finally got the OEM thermostat in there. Next on the list, that damn pulsation damper and it's tentacles. Following of course is the injector purchase. Dragon, I'm gonna conquer your *** or die trying. I also VOTED!
