I've got so much going on, but I'd love to make an appearance at the Charlotte meet.
I'm more concerned about Deal's Gap right now, though. Anything else will just have to wait.

We'll be going to Charlotte via 64 West to Asheboro then 49 into Charlotte. You can meet us in Asheboro around 1:00-1:30 PM or we'll see you in Charlotte.

how fast are you guys thinking you will take? My record for going from raliegh to charlotte is 2:05:36 via 64 and 49 without any stopping. You guys may even concievalby be able to stop by the campus and have a little cool down before the mall. cause it is just up the road from campus

Hey Bert ! It looks like I'll be there. Driving down Friday since my g/f lives not far from where the meeting is. I drive to Charlotte quite a bit and the 64/49 route is the way to go. But be careful on 49 when you get into Stanley county. Cops have been bad along there. I should know as I got popped right before Christmas ! Ouch !!!
Anyway, I would suggest that once you pass through Harrisburg and get to 485, jump on it (heading west) and pick up 85 south for a couple miles. Take the WT Harris Blvd exit and head west. This will take you all the way over to the mall. Or if you'd like you can take 49 down to WT Harris as well but it takes longer. Just my 2 cents as I drive it quite a bit. Check mapquest if that didn't make any sense.
Got the car running. New transmission ...ok , new to me. Happy Jap's in Cary put it in for me. I'm having some concerns about it because it seems to not be as smooth as I had hoped. The guy (Rex) at Happy Jap's has been very good to work with though. He's got his supplier trying to locate another tranny for me. But in the meantime it seems to get me from point A to point B.
See you guys down there !

Thanks Keith, I've been checking out the DOT State Road Map and the mapquest maps posted up on the Charlotte Meeting forum, that was what I was thinking but since I've not been over that Mall before I was hoping for some directions to follow after hitting Charlotte. I've printed yours out and will follow them on Saturday.
Sorry to hear about the cops, that red convertible must be a cop magnet. I was hoping that you'd go down with us. We'd let you lead us down and we could hang back a couple of miles, so you'd think you were a lot faster than us, and clear out all the cops. You'd be like our point man in the military. When you go out on patrol there would be a point man that would stay a head of the main group and take the hits or find the mines and booby traps for the rest of the platoon. Oh well, have a safe trip down and we'll see you on Saturday. I haven't seen the vert since you go the new wheels and top redone, can't wait.

I personally do not like 485 or the larger highways because you have higher engine revs and thus you get worse gas mileage. but on 49 at night you can usually get away with a little speeding. If you take 64/49 you can just turn right on harris blvd and ride straight to the mall.

Charlotte Rotary Meeting
Got back from the Charlotte meeting last night about 10:30. It was a beautiful day for driving and Doug and I met some interesting sports car owners before we ever got to Charlotte. See post to find out the details: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...02#post5428802
We got to see Barry, Steve, Johny even drove down from Danville for the meeting. Met a lot of new rotary owners from South Carolina, the Asheville area, as well as those guys that live in and around Charlotte. It was a great time right up 'til Mall Security ask us to move on over to a less visible parking area. It seems like 20+ rotaries in the mall parking lots with thousands of parking spaces were taking up too much room and distracting their shoppers. Oh well. Some really great cars and great people showed up yesterday and the RRDI was well represented.

Greg, I have some large panorama pictures of the meet they are 1.2-1.6mb in Size and i was wondering if there was a way you could host those pictures for me.
Nice seeing you guys again!

Glad you guys had fun in Charlotte, sorry I missed it. Josh and Rob came down to help with the vacuum line job, and I ended up breaking a few things, so Deal's Gap might be off for me. I'm looking for the solenoids/electrical connections or whatever they are underneath the rats nest, does anyone have those? I already asked Josh. I broke a nipple off two of those, and I broke one of the nipples off the primary turbo inlet elbow, but that's fixed already (hopefully, haha, we'll see). Not to mention my car wasn't running before this whole thing anyway, so who knows if I'll be making it in April. That engine bay is starting to look more and more suited for an LS1, haha. It's just so sacreligious though, haha. But better fuel economy, torque, reliability, etc. is so tasty. I'll see you guys again someday, haha.
