Eric, sorry you missed out on a great Drive-In last night. You would've enjoyed the crowd. I think we had all branches of the military represented last night except the USAF. I'll post some pics up tonight.
Are you getting any interest in doing some local meets around Fayetteville? The Raleigh guys want to come down to a Fayetteville rotary meet if you can find a place where the motorheads hang out on weekends. Missed you last night.

Good meet saw a lot of new faces and ironed out some details. I had a nice ride home only had one close call with a possum. I saw a few deer also but none croosed my path. I will start a thread of who has paid and who intends on coming.

Glad to hear you made it home OK. I went up Purnell Road, where you turned right at the VFD and didn't see a white FC anywhere. Thanks for coming down, I think the mansion crowd is gonna start growing when they all find out that it will end up being cheaper rent than at Fontana. Hope you're feeling some better about it.
Just have to continue to stress that everyone needs to get their money in ASAP so that we know who is going up and make sure we'll have room for everyone that wants to stay there.

Sure was nice to meet all of the NC rotorheads. Even got to meet someone from a previous event... nice ride Johny! Actually, quite a few nice rides, and more importantly, as many very cool enthusiasts. I look forward to meeting you all and learning some new name at the next meet.

Rrdi For Saturday 25 Feb
We had a great turnout last night and the FC's dominated the turnout, 9 FCs, 4 FDs, and only a couple of RX8s were in the mix. A total of 15 cars plus Ray brought his beater Supra and we had a few other piston engined wonders there as well. About 20-25 people turned up throught the night and for February it was a beautiful night to have a Drive-In.
Talked a lot about our trip up to Deals Gap Rotary Rally in April. The mansion is filling up and Johny needs to get the money in for the rooms and sleeping space. Check the www.rrdi.org website for all the details. We We have a group going up on Thursday and will stay in the Mansion on Thursday night, a group leaving Raleigh on Friday, maybe two groups depending on when people can make it out of town, and we need everyone that is going up on which ever day to sign up for one of the groups. Each group will have a leader and you'll get their cell phone number when you indicate which group you will caravaning with. Speaking of phone numbers, we might have a telephone number you can call at the mansion if you have last minute questions on Friday or get lost on the way up to Robbinsville, NC. The phone number and the address of he mansion ( for GPS and map it use) will be posted on the www.rrdi.org site in a couple of weeks.
Pics of Saturday's Drive-In will be up tonight or tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone that came out and for those that left early you missed a hot chick that showed up in a "honda yeller" FC. Christina really dresses up nice for her mom.

Just a reminder that the Mazda Sports Car Club of NC (formally the NC Rotary Club, since everyone but me sold their 2nd gens and bought Miatas) is holding our monthly meeting in Research Triangle Park.
Details are on our website, most easily remembered:
http://www.ncmazda.com
We are holding a raffle this meeting and will continue to do so for the next couple of meetings (we have some Mazda merchandise to need to clear out of the attic).
New faces/cars that haven't been to a Friday meeting get a free raffle ticket. Old timers, pony up a dollar.

Lessee, I've worked C-17s and KC135Rs (at shady J, no less). Been working C-17s for 11 years now. When I was active duty I was an FCC so I got to go a few places.
At least Goldsboro has grown up a bit - when I was a reservist there it was pretty barren, and poor. There was still a Roses. I didn't see that when I was there recently.
The base still looks the same, though.

Saturday Night's Drive-In Pictures
Just thought I'd post the pics from last Saturday's RRDI. Hope you enjoy them. The first I call FC admirers and there were some great 2nd gens out at the last RRDI, but first the drivers:
Here are the FD admirers, and there were a few FDs that came out to show there stuff:
Now here are the cars in line up:
and the other end of the parking lot:
The count for the night was 9 FCs, 4 FDs and 2 RX8s.
Here are the pics of the cars that were present before it got too dark to take good photos.
Jason's ride with a new coat of paint:
Johny brought Tiffany down She is his Pride
and his Joy
more to come.

More of Rotary Saturday Nights
Here is another newly painted FC, call it Gestalt!
and my FC makes 3:
Here is what a little combat pay will do for an FD, a little Carbon Fiber Body Armor:
and here is a final pic, anyone figure out what is wrong with this photo?
Just a reminder, we've already had our first Sunday drive of the year, a few of us went to Cleveland and back a couple of weeks ago:
We're reving things up for a new year and will be doing a lot of driving. Those who didn't make the Drive-In and missed the Sunday Drive can keep up with what is going on by visiting the RRDI.org website and checking out the RRDI Calendar of Events. We have close to 40 members signed up so far. If you own a rotary check it out.
