They also said they would be able to research into activating the remote start for my RX-8 but I haven't gotten back to them to find out if they got the codes to activate it yet.

Dammit I forgot about the meet AGAIN tonight. This is the last one I'd have been able to make too...leaving next Thursday for the drive home to Missouri/Illinois, in the FD of all cars . Well, I'll see you guys sometime after January 15th if you're meeting that time of the year, haha.

Yeah Steve, you just earned a new forum name, no longer will you be known as "Smoken' " from this day forward you are dubbed "Fluffy Stuffen' ". I hate it but it looks like you've gotten in touch with "your feminine side". Please do not ever tell us what was shipped in that box. probably something to do with miatas.

Pics for the RRDI version 12.10.05
We had a modest turnout last night. When I arrived at 5:30 a "new" was waiting in the parking lot and it had brought along its owner Max, here is the first shot and it was showroom fresh.
Max had a very interesting story concerning finding and purchasing this FD. If you missed the Drive-In last night you need to hear his story and he can tell it best, I'll not spoil the fun for him.
Here is a photo of Greg admiring the car and I heard he offered Max an amp and a guitar of his choice for it.
Here is a look under the hood of a pristine showroom car with just over 21,000 miles on it, that is not a mistype, 21, 000 original miles:
Oh, yeah, we did have some others show up for the Drive-In, I call this one 7s & 8s:
We had the 8s represented by Gary and Nic with their TiGray *s, Eric did show up a little after 5:30 and it was good to see him back. the other representatives for the 7s were Greg and Christina, Ray showed up but left the 7 at home in the garage. He had his dyno sheet and had some really good numbers for an S4 172 bhp but it still needs some tuning to realize all its potential.
We talked about next weeks trip to VIR and with the cancellation Greg and Gary will not be able to make it, Beth has already reported that she won't be coming, but the good news is that Nic and his wife will be coming up to accompany Christina, me and my son up to VIR. That is gonna make a mighty short caravan. If anyone else can make it next Friday, we'll be meeting at Caribou Coffee at Briar's Creek at 8:30 and leaving by 9:00 or so for the 85 minute drive up to VIR.
Johny, we'll see you there between 11:00 and 11:20. We will top off our fuel in Roxboro before heading out to VIR so everyone come to Caribou with enough gas to make it to Roxboro. I don't think that there'll be food available at VIR so we might want to eat lunch early also in Roxboro before going out to VIR.

I got a reply from Phil today and he confirmed that he would be arriving Firday night at RDU and would be able to have lunch with us next Saturday. Everyone that can arrange your schedule on Saturday to make lunch next Saturday. I told Phil that the RRDI will pick up lunch for him and his girlfriend and drive your rotaries if possible, he'll need a rotary fix by Saturday. He had heard about our RRDI shirts and requested one so I had an extra printed up and we'll give it to him on Saturday.
Once I find out who can come to lunch and what's the best time. I'll set something up as far as location and time and get word out to all that can make it.
Also everyone check out the new RRDI website, http://www.rrdi.org, Doug is working hard to have it up and fully functional by January and we'll open it up for memberships by the RRDI group at that time but everyone can find it now, bookmark it and check it out. We'll also use the website for all RRDI news, announcements, shcedules, group events and calendar, selling and trading rotary items and a whole lot more. We will also need to charge everyone a nominal fee to keep the site up and working and to raise some money for RRDI activities and events. Doug and Greg will be the webmasters for it and I encourage everyone to check it out and give them your feedback. We now own our domain name rrdi.org.

Someone had mentioned that we could meet around 8:00 am for breakfast on Christmas Eve, eat together before we head out for last minute shopping or hit the road for the trip to grandma's house. I don't know everyone's plans so I don't know if that is even possible.
Unofficially we will be getting together, those that can make it, next Friday for trip up to VIR for their Holiday Laps rainout date. Then on Saturday we'll be meeting for lunch to say hi to Phil Sohn from Alabama who will be in Raleigh for a short visit. You are welcome to come up for any of this and if not then the next official Drive-In will be the second Saturday in January.

Refresh my memory, basically the deal was you go up to VIR and run some parade laps and donate $25, right?

Ray, Joey, Try to make it its way better than parade laps. you are led by a pace car, and there is no passing, but they will let you get up some good speeds. Last year I actually spun the same place Bert's son did.

I think I'll just have to make it after all. Maybe I can show everyone just what a little girlie car can do on the track. If I can keep traction, that's been a problem since I got the lighter wheels.

I talked to Bert this past Sat. He said he got up to 90+mph a few times. But, you could go faster if you feel comfortable. So, that's alot better than a parade lap if you ask me.
