anyway onto an FD subject...I thought of something today...was the FD an attempt to gradually bring the FORD name into Mazda's world? I mean...think about it. FORD=Found On Road Dead...so an FD would just be "Found Dead"...right? That's why they're broke but never make it "On Road" Just playing guys...Stina and I were joking about that Ford ownership thing today and FD crossed my mind...okay...
Josh...you're gonna stomp me My car will be slow till I get back from cruise I think...I need that S1 comp afterall. But I'm still down to lose to a sexy FD ...Losing to an FD is kinda like getting beat by a girl to get her number...it's a good thing...it just won't be on purpose this time Okay...wow...I'm a loser....I post WAY too long...I'll shutup now, later guys...I'm out.

I won't be able to make it this weekend, because the boyfriend unit and I are going to visit his family, but I will be at the next one this month. You'll love our group. Everyone is really easy to get along with... no drama!!

He also has his first car, '71 Buick Skylark Sport Coupe with original sport wheels and alot of other work. It does need some body work. If anyone knows of someone interested in muscle cars then please let them know that Steve needs to move this car before he starts school. Besides it looks outta place around hall his rotary gems.
Hey Josh ever powder coated brake calipers? What prep work is required and how much to pc the front set and rears?

I had my first experience of what it feels like to reach peak boost while losing traction making a 90 degree turn. Heh, drifting is kinda fun. At first, while entering into a left fishtail, I thought to myself, you're going to die, you idiot. Then, after straightening out and over-correcting which resulted in a 360 degree full circle before I realized to salvage what I could and turn in the direction of the spin and give her brakes. By some chance of God I paralled a perfect park with US-1 facing North on the South side while sitting in the grass maybe 2ft away from a 5ft drop. All I could think was..
Holy Crap, I wanna do it again!!! Instead, I sat there and laughed at the people waiting on the light rotation facing me and bewildered by the sight that they just saw. Lol, it was pretty funny and horrific at the same time. I love this car....

That's it, gimme the keys! Yeah, mine has gotten away from me a few times. But I use to practice such things in a 1970 Dodge Challenger (positaction rear-end) so...to be honest the turbo seems more wicked because it revs different, esp when the boost kicks in. Anyways, glad you and the car are ok. You need to find a big open parking lot and have some fun (ie: practice). With the way these cars can handle PLUS the rev/boost combo it takes some getting use to what they can do and what you need to learn to let them do it.
On a 2nd note, prolly g sharp, that sounded like it was fun...

I'm more daring in the 7 than David can handle... on regular roads... but I only do what I know the car and I can handle together. Nothing too drastic like doing scary loops on a highway or anything. haha.

Lol, I didn't intend on whipping her around on US-1, but it was fun regardless. Kinda stupid if I think about it, I was kinda brought up on the fwd drivetrain, but needless to say, I'm much more cautious now.....at least when there's traffic out

I'll admit that I did that once during moring rush hour on Western Blvd, but I only managed a 180 and ended up facing east in the west bound lane. I immediately went and bought 4 new tires with decent tread. And I only have an NA.
Hey on another subject for you guys with 4 piston calipers. I picked up a set of 4 piston calipers from Steve on Tuesday and started researching what pads I need and how to hook them up and discovered that the pad change seems like it will be much easier. The question is how do y'all spread the caliper and push the pistons in since they are on both sides of the caliper? The FSM indicates there is a special tool for this and I found a picture of it but was wondering what y'all use.

RRDI T-Shirts
Check out the RRDIs in September thread for info about the RRDI T-shirts. I've post a similar thread on the RX8club site.
I'll try doing the T-shirts thru the month of September, if we can't get 25 shirts sold, both long and short sleeved, then I'll drop the idea. So if you want to have a RRDI shirt that we can wear up to Deals Gap, VIR, other group events, then now is the time to order yours. I'll get new prices from the screen printer and post those tomorrow. I'll need payments made for any shirts you order by the 4th Saturday of September.
