hey fellas, make sure that you post on the GRR thread if you are planning on going. We just need to make plans for the food, and stuff.

taylor, did you have the problem last year? I've had to rig mine so the fans are on high speed all the time. keeps it down to about 90F even in traffic. on normal speed i can see temps as high as 110 sitting in traffic, and about 95-100F on the highway. This is in the middle of the day of course; on a day in the high 90s. anyhow, i don't have anything to reference to, since last summer i still only had the dummy gauge.

these are stupid questions but have you checked your thermostat? and that your fans are kicking in? i had one of my fans start sticking earlier this summer. it would turn, but a lot slower than it should. had to take it off and re-grease it. that was giving me high water temps, even before the weather turned hot.

if all else fails you could go to a gutted thermo. however, i didnt see that much difference when i did that, so i just switched back. it helps if you are doing a lot of highway running, but in regular driving(stop and go/highway), you get the same temps. obviously the OEM is designed pretty decently.

I can't help you with your window switch. You got one of them fancy cars, mine have a handle that you turn to get the winders up.

I can help you with your subframe breakage problems: check this site out

I'm not positive I had this problem last year or not strictly due to the fact that I didn't have my Apexi hooked up to moniter the temps. I set my fans to come on full by 87C and that helped out a bit... but I still see temps over 100C on the interstate, usually never see them that high in traffic, the temps drop under 100C in traffic. The only reason I can come up with for this issue is due to the fact that I don't have an undertray for my engine bay and that my fmic is so dang close to the bumper that no air can travel around it... only through it. Any help would be appreciated.

New Wheels for the GTU after 16 years

After running the OEM wheels for 16 years I thought it was about time to dress up the GTU with some new rollers. I got the 215/45X17 Dunlops in on Tuesday and the 17" wheels came in yesterday. Dropped them off to day to have the wheels and tires mated and will stop by Ronnie White's Tires after work today to get'em installed on the RX7. Now if I can find time Friday night or Saturday to clean the car up she'll be looking fine for the GRR and the trip up to VIR. Its gonna be a full weekend of rotaries and racing! How could you ask for anything more?

Bert, are we gonna get preview pictures, or do we have to die in anticipation.

Taylor, in my limited knowledge, i would say the undertray might be an issue. The wind is going to try and take the path of least resistance. if it can escape through a crack or hole it is going to try to do that versus going through the infinite fins of the radiator.

The temps I am telling you are with the fans on 100% once i see temps get above 80C. the sooner you start disapating(sp?) heat the easier it is for the system to stay cool.

For instance when I was running a gutted thermo, i started the fans at highspeed as soon as i turned the car on and took it on a 30 minute highway run. the car never got above 80C. if i wait for the car to warm to 80C and kick the fans, and do the same highway run, i will get temps in the upper 80C/low 90C range.

anyhow the upshot of that whole retarded example was to say, that you should try kicking the fans on even sooner and see what happens.

like you mentioned you are running the Greddy which sits real close to the bumper, while i am running the apexi that sits further back and allows for better wind flow the radiator.

IF you can get ahold of Rick you should ask him. i think he is running auxillary fans to keep his cool with a VERY similar setup to yours, including the missing undertray. he mentioned to me that he still sees average temps of about 100C. PM Ray(Arghx) for his email, if you want.

for my taste i prefer to see them around the 90C mark for daily. cuz you know as soon as you tap into the boost, the heat starts building quickly.

Yeah drakelord I didn't even realize this many rx7's/rotary powered vehicles were around this area. I'm gettin my car back tomarrow as it looks today. Keepin hope alive anyway.
I am fairly new at the whole rotary game only been in it for about a year now.

Now I have a tech question my seven has some kind of knock in the rearend I cant see any obvious places that have any out of ordinary "damage" and i even had the dealership (City Mazda of Greensboro) and they were unable to figure out what it is. I have a couple ideas maybe the LSD or some suspension bushing or maybe its a U-joint but the dealership wasnt sure of what it was. Ideas are welcome and should i be worried about the noise as it hasnt gotten any worse over the past year?

if the clunk is inbetween shifts then its gotta be the U joints, but if its a clunk like when you go over a bump or turn hard, look toward your sway bar bushings, or end link bushings

Well its not a clunk more of a pop and i only notice it on take off and thru first gear i dunno if thats because of the road noise i dont hear it or it it is only popping in at low speeds.

I might sometime, as I frequent Raleigh for the arcade, as it's the only decent one around. However, it'd feel weird driving up in an MX-6 with a bent fender, hood, and broken windshield.

(Was driving one day, and during a 90º turn, some idiot was driving in the middle of the road, so I had to dodge, and I went into a ditch.... http://assorted-lemons.com/dreamhunt...%20Damage2.jpg)

Anyway, like I said, I might come up sometime, .

I'll go ahead and try that... once i figure out why my TAIL fuse keeps blowing and can actually drive my car at night. By the way, just for future knowledge if need be, I have an HKS intercooler.

Just a quick question for you guys. For my application, I don't see myself pushing over 300ish hp for at least 4 years, as I have to keep the car reliable for college and such. So for now, would it be ok to use an S-AFC and a FCD instead of a full standalone, since I won't be pushing excessive hp?

what car do you have? If its an S4 TII then i would recomend the r-tech 1.7 and 720cc secondary injectors.
