Well guys, I got back from NY a few days ago and have just been really busy with work and other stuff. I got my shocks in yesterday, and now I'm waiting on camber adjuster bolts and strut mounts before I get started on that project. I also put in a custom cold air box that I bought off someone from this forum. It's very clean looking and I think it gave me a bit more mid range power, especially since I was running a cone filter with no heat shielding or anything.

Here are pics from the guy's site. It cost $60 shipped.

On another note, I sold my nitrous kit. I've decided that with 18 credits this coming semester I don't want to risk the car's reliability since it's my daily driver and I will have limited time to work on it. It was a tough decision because I really want to have a fast car of course, but you have to know when enough is enough. I'm going to get some Turbo II 550cc injectors in, take it back to the dyno, and just be happy with whatever power I can get from that. Then I'll get to the strip and hope for 14's. My mods from now on will be more geared towards handling and amenities such as a better sound system.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the next Drive-in. I may be putting the suspension in that day with Jeremy and hopefully I can make it out. Speaking of Jeremy and of course Rick, there's no word on Rick's FD as of now. I'm sure Rotorsports has worked on it but they can be hard to get in touch with.

Ray, i'm gonna slap you at the next drive in. i told you to let me know if you were gonna sell it. I'm just kidding with. Rotorsports has a good rep, but damn they are slower than Ashraf. Speaking of Ashraf...

Rob, if you still check in on the thread. How's the FD? I was hoping to see it.

Whats up
I pulled the motor out of tiffany and I have it stripped. It should be on its way to Tenn. on tuesday. Ive got pulling the motor down to about 2.5 hrs I probably could do better than that if it wasn't 90 degrees.
I'm not sure how to prevent this from happening again I will probably do a water meth. inj. Kevin offered to repair the engine at no cost for labor I think this is cool of him . I'm also going to use a housing from an s5. They are a little stronger.
I may try to come to the 23 rd meet.

Its coming along, not done when I was hoping it would be done (a few weeks ago). Ashraf has been really busy with work and stuff so he has only had a very minimal amount of time to work on the car recently.

I have pretty much given up hoping to hear it will be done every week and am pretty much resigned to the fact it will probably be done right before I start school up again. I was hoping to be able to break in the engine and get it tuned before school started. Hopefully he will finish in early August and then I can just go get the car after I move into my townhouse in Raleigh on Aug. 10th.

I wanted to make it up to some meets this summer but coming from Charlotte isn't the most fun. I was only up in the area twice, once for a court appearance for a speeding ticket and once for my girlfriend to go check out a puppy. I will be able to make the August meets though so I am looking foward to seeing everyone again. Later

johny, i agree with barry. I wouldn't screw with it. mainly, cuz i wouldn't wanna pull the damn thing again. go with the cryo-treated S5. if you bust one of those, then you have issues.

rob, that's cool. projects always take longer than you expect. hope to see it when it is done. i still have to do some wire and vacuum hose re-routing on mine. as well as adding a water injection, 3 bar MAP sensor, and then hopefully get it down to Rotorsports for a final tune. After all that I need to start pulling parts to do some powdercoating. Oh, and I wanna try and make some kind of ducting for my filter. I was thinking of utilizing half of, one of the vents to get some cooler air. Also some ducting for the radiator wouldnt hurt.

Thats cool josh, I really want to see your car as well. I have some Koni Yellows, Racing Beat Springs, and Racing Beat Sway Bars to put on after I get the car back (I will do those myself since it is within my limited mechanical ability). The car came with some kind of lowering springs, can't tell what kind but they are a big drop in ride height so I decided to go with a more moderate drop.

Hey Johny, I remember you saying that you cracked it, but how? What did it do when it cracked?

Steve-o

Its like something out of a horror story. J/K It just leaks oil so at first it appears to be simple. I thought it was the filter mount at first. Here is a pic of one (not Mine) that kevin sent. I think the engine detonated but not sure.

Are we still doing the GRR? I may have to licence "Princess" in the mean time.

Can't find the the picture now.

Well i have decided to get a truck. So im looking to sell my 91 RX-7. Its got 104k on it. Its still on the VERY strong original motor. Its had its regular oil changes. It also has recently had redline MTL put in the trans and redline 75w90 in the rear end. The only issue is a sticking drivers side window. Its got an aftermarket cd player, manifold back custom exhaust with only 3k miles on it, and Racing Beat rear steer eliminators. Everything else is original. Its also recently had new NGK wires and plugs installed. The car drives GREAT and i will only sell if i can get a great price on it. I dont need to sell it but i need something multi-purpose since i already have a play car. Oh, and its got PS, PW, A/C and a choice of 5 spoke or mesh factory wheels. $4000

Jesse

I think Greg needs a 91 base model to add to his stable of red RX7s. He'll be glad to trade some musical instruments and electronics.

Good news? Sorry to hear that. Take it over to a maintenance batallion that repairs the M1A1 and see if they can't reweld the subframe for you. If they can fix an Abrams and put back into battle they ought to be able to put an RX7 back on the road.

That's funny cause a good freind of mine, who just got out of the Marines, was a welder with 2nd maintenance batallion. They were the ones who ported my wastegate. Luckily there is a welding shop on base, right next to the auto hobby shop.

Alex (13b4me) happens to have an extra subframe too!

WOW! David, that is a fine looking FCTII. She really looks good, Florida must agree with her.

Jason, you've got access to stuff most rotary owners only dream about. Put our taxes to good use and keep those rotaries running and on the road.

"New" FB spotted in Franklin County this morning

I was on my way to work today up north of Wake Forest off Capital Blvd. Anyway before I got to Capital on Purnell Road I turned north on a side road and had a guy wave and give me a thumbs up on my car. I thought that was kinda strange since its hard enough to get another rotary driver to acknowledge you when you pass. When I got to the next intersection I understood why, there setting next to a house, in the driveway, was a dark gray FB. I'd never noticed it before and on the way home I stopped and dropped off a RRDI business card to let the owner know about our group. Hope to see the owner at a Drive-In soon.

We should try to get word out about the GRR and see if we can get a bunch of rotary owners to show up at one place at the same time, oh yeah that is what the GRR is all about. We need to start pushing the event, get the money together for RRDI T-shirts and have them ready for the event this year. I am willing to get the shirts underway if everyone that wants one will post their size and how many they want and will bring the money to the next Drive-In. The 15 people that made a down payment for the GRR shirts last fall will get the $5 credit on these shirts, just so no one is out any money or their deposit, sorry but I can't afford to pay y'all interest. We need a minimum order of 24 shirts and the next quantity is 36, they come in multiples of a dozen after the first 2 dozen. I'll put up a special thread for this order.
