Burt, Keeley and i had a great time as well yeterday evening. She enjoyed meeting the people that she has heard so much about. I didn't get to meet all the new faces, but i enjoyed speaking to all of the regulars, even if i had forgotten some of your names I'm awefully sorry about that Greg, it was quite embarrassing, i just had a little brain fart. See ya'll at the next meet...

OK guys... please read this... I need some feedback.
I was at David's (my boyfriend) SRT-4 meeting yesterday, and when they have meetings, they meet all day, have a cookout at someone's house or at a park, work on everyone's cars and put new parts on, etc at a member's house, and after a long day of fellowship and cars, they go out and play putt-putt, go bowling, go ride go-karts, go see a movie, etc. and that evening, they take the whole caravan and go cruising.
Our group should start this. They don't really have official officers, just like us... but they all get along pretty well, and everyone helps everyone else out. I think we should start doing this at least ONE of our meetings each month, if not both. I know every now and then a few people will go help a rotary guy out with their clutch (Taylor's FD) or meet up at someone's house to install brake pads (my car). I think this kind of meeting would be awesome. I'm sorry I missed yesterday's picnic... but I had an opportunity to go see how someone else's club functions, and it's very cool. They did the same sort of thing when I went to the Dyno Day with them last month. There is a huge mix of ages, too... so it's not like it was just young guys... and lots of times they have the family come for the cookout part, if not the whole day.
PM me or reply on here with your feedback. I just really like this idea.

Hmm, i think the main porblem would be that a lot of people would have to work on Saturday. I know i usually have to work all day, and sometimes i have to get off early in order to make it. Dont get me wrong, i think that is a great idea, but from what i have seen, it is hard enough to make it to the ones that start only at 6:30. From what you have said, it sounds like somebody just needs to extend an invite out to the group to have everybody over to their house. I dont think it would necessarly have to take the place of a drive in. It could be done anytime.
Just my 2 cents...

What about on a Sunday, after church around lunchtime... and go until the evening? I know work is hard to get out of, too... and the reason why it works so well for the SRT-4 guys is cuz they are mostly military or have weekday jobs. I just think we need more unity in our group.
OR... how bout we reserve one Saturday a month for an all day thing, so people can get off work? I know that I sure as hell would be off work for RX-7 stuff!

So wait... Christina was at a Neon meet, TRAITOR!!! BLASPHEMER!!
Anyways, I have decided that I need to find a girlfriend in Raleigh, so I don't have to drive 2 hours back to J-ville in the middle of the night.
In other news, on my way to work this morning, my clutch slave cylinder died. I just replaced that bitch a year ago. So now I have 2 broken RX-7s and no transportation.

That bites, Jason. Per Christina's suggestion we may need to make a fieldtrip out to Jacksonville, and help you fix one, if not both, of your 7s.
I think this is my problem with your suggestion Christina. Lately, this summer we have had quit a few all day things. VIR, NOPI, etc. Our turnout has been really sparse(sp?). It is hard for people to give up a whole day. I know it is for me, that is why I am often times late. Any day I have off I have to share with my other responsibilites(ie family, friends, girlfriend, random chores & projects) when you work 40+hours a week, and then have responsibilities, it is hard to part with one of your precious days off. For others work carries over onto Saturday, sometimes all day.
This is an example of my average week. get up at 6:15am, leave the house 7:00am, get back around 6:00pm, gives me a few hours in the evening to; either get something done, or try and relax before carrying my *** back to work the next day. Saturdays, I bust my butt all day long doing stuff, if we have a meet I squeeze that in. Sunday, if i was lucky enough to get everything done saturday I try and relax all day, if not often I finish projects. Oh, and somewhere in there I try and squeeze, girlfriend, family, and a meager social life. I would say that most guys with a 9-5 are in a similar boat.
People working retail schedules, well that just gives me flashbacks about working 7 days a week, and not being able to plan life more than a week in advance. the scheduling always seemed to interfere with anything you wanted to do on weekends. :shivers: Hell and that is when it is summer and there is no school to worry about. I am sure you are familiar with that drill.
While I would like to see our group start branching out and doing other stuff. Like maybe Putt-Putt, or something like that. I don't mind going all times of the night, but not earlier in the day. The precious sunlight has to be reserved for working.
sorry for the longwinded post. I think most of the group is saying no for the same, or similar reasons.

Ok, Jason never gets to drive my cars! JK man, that sucks. We need to figure out a way for some of us to put you on a couch at someones house instead of you turning around and driving right back.

Yeah the Saturday thingy sucks. I HAVE to work every Saturday and don't get off till 5pm.
So for something like GRR or Deals Gap I have to either vacation time or get lucky and Sunday is my "what didn't I get finished on my normal day off day" or spent with family or a dozen other thingys.

I tried to send you a pm, but I think I sent one to GTU. I don't think you know any of them. I have a friend with a mark 2 supra and 2 others that have an 240s. But most of the time we drift in the rain, saves on tires and its not as noisy. And I think I saw you Lucky slides?

From my experience, you can usually tell if the slave cylinder is bad if it is leaking. If it isn't leaking then it is probably your master cylinder...

Guy's, I know my clutch hydraulics..... I replaced everything less that a year ago, clutch, master cylinder, slave cylinder, and SS line. That's why it just pissed me off...
Anyway, I knew it was the slave cylinder on Monday because when I was looking for leaks, I didn't see any so I squeezed on the slave cylinder boot.... and sure enough, brake fluid splurged out, the seal was bad. Got a slave cylinder from Advance for 15 bucks and slapped it on last night, I'm good to go, one down.

Good to hear Jason. That was the easy fix, sounds like remounting the diff will require welding and a good lift or two rolls of duct tape. I assume that you've got access to all the maintenace equipment you need to fix the mounts on base.

hey guys im not sure if anyone knows but yesterday i was reattaching my hood and making sure that the hood lined up with the headlights correctly but i found that my left headlight wont go down all the way. do you guys think i could just bend the lift arm down so it closes the headlight all the way or do you suggest anything else?
OH and i lowered the price of my engine to $1500 OBO so guys; working TII motor ready to be taken away with alot of TII goodies

Bad thing is though, now that my clutch hydraulics work well now, I miss having the clutch fully engage almost immedately upon releasing the pedal.
