Josh,
Care to give me a ride locally sometime in your car once you take care of your fuel map? I want to get a feel on what my car will feel like after the mod is complete.
no problem brother. i think i have most of the kinks worked out. i am actually working out some idle and starting problems now.

i am running somewhere in the 10.5-10.8:1 range at full boost.

for those that rode in my car before. it feels a lot faster now. i am happy and am learning a lot about the PFC. just like everything else it isnt as big of a mystery as people make it out to be.

lee, if you let me sit in it I will keep my jokes to a minimum.

At least those were the rules this spring with MDA. I have an extra helmet I'll bring with me. Look for a black Excursion with an open trailer and either a Montego Blue FD or a red Spec Miata #62 - I'll probably also have a blue EZ-Up as well. PM me with any ?s, or if you think you might show so I can be looking for you.

Marvin had his Spec Miata really going at the SARRC/MARRS event. He beat me on Saturday, I beat him on Sunday I may drive the 7 up just to get some rides! VIR is a great track, I have been lucky enough run 6 or 7 races there. Lots of places to mess up, very technical track. People that have never been there, its a great facility. Hard to beat it. It is about 70 miles door to gate from here. Got space for 1 more this Saturday?

Josh,

Do you tune your own car? Do you know anyone around the area that are good tuners for our heavy modded RX7 or know someone is very good at datalogic?

The answer to your question is Yes. During the drivers class they have a noon lunch break and open the track for what they call parade laps. There is a pace car and whoever wants to drive the track for 3-5 laps can go out and drive, you can't pass for safety reasons and its not wide open racing but you can get an idea of what its like to drive the track and what you car will do.

Rotor Sports Racing is a very reliable shop. They do great work, they are honest, and like Josh said will follow up with you if you have problems or questions about what you need done or have had done. They have done several major things for me and I've never had a problem or complaint. They've enve donated prizes for our Drive-In giveaways. Brian and Rusty are the best in NC if it concerns a rotary.

Caravan to VIR

The caravan will be pulling out of Briars Creek Caribou Coffee at 9:00 AM Saturday morning headed to VIR. We won't wait for anyone we don't know is planning on driving up so post here or catch us if we have left when you arrive after 0900. I'd like to leave sooner if everyone gets there before 9:00 so please post here if you plan on going up this Saturday. Jesse and Josh and Bert are the only ones signed up so far. Get gas before you get to Briars Creek so that we'll only have to stop in Roxboro.

do we need a helmet (Sometimes they require, sometimes not) for tomorrow becuase I can't fit in the RX-8 with mine? Looks like I will be able to come tomorrow instead of Saturday, also since I don't know where this place is that you guys are meeting and I assume it is in Raliegh, I will just leave Burlington at 9 which will put me there around 10, so I'll meet you guys there around 10. Were are we meeting at VIR, are they full course, north or south?

You will not need a helmet for laps around the track behind a pace car, top speed is about 80 MPH on the back straight. You can go faster and lag back, but your not supposed to do that . For track days you are required to wear a helmet. Later,
Carl

The Mazda Drivers Course was using the whole 4.2 miles, that's the full course with the new .9 mile they added to the full course for this year. Great, hope you can make it up. Greg, TurboII here, was talking about driving up on Sunday as well. He lives in Garner and y'all might want to arrange a meet up spot in Roxboro and drive in together.

Hey, Camocarl, you need to buy this as a parts car and then sell me a ton of parts. Alas, I have no room for a parts car.
