My mods are listed on my car domain site (link in my sig) if anyone is curious.
Oh and Dave, it feels a little different now than when you last drove it. I had to get a resonator welded in for my sanity, and Steve helped me get my auxilary ports to open from the resulting backpressure. It hits peak torque alot lower (butt dyno says ~4000), feels more responsive in higher gears, but I don't think pulls as hard up top. I should probably get it retuned with the new setup, but I'm gonna wait until the nitrous goes in. The latest that will be is August, when I get my financial aid check.

Hey guys, I had a good time Sat night. Made getting up for VIR for the Gold Cup Historic Races a pain in the butt though but it was worth it. Dave, I thought about you as I was headed up 501 to VIR, saw a sign for Bahama off of it and wondered what you had been up to.

RRDI at VIR Meet
Ok, since I can't make it up to VIR this weekend and we've all been tossing around ideas on things we can do as a group I propose we do this as one of the ideas.
We should all meet and caravan up to VIR one Sunday morning for the races. We can either meet somewhere in Raleigh at 7am for breakfast or leave Raleigh around 7am and stop for breakfast along the way. We can set up under the trees between turns 3 and 4 where we'll have some shade and picnic tables, and it's the best place to watch the action on the track. We will also need to make some plans for taking food and drinks for lunch. The next two dates we can do are on July 10th - Historic Sportscar Racing ($20 ticket) or Aug 7th - Oak Tree Nationals NC Region SCCA ($15 ticket).
The July 10th date is an RRDI meet weekend, the August 7th is between meets. I'm thinking the 10th might be the best date. We can either make it our meet that weekend instead of Saturday night or do both and call it an early night Saturday. For the people from out of town so to speak, depending on what we decide to do, they could either come up Sunday morning or I'm sure some of us could put you up Saturday night if needed.
I'm going to both events again this year, and I think for those who have never been to VIR or an event like this either date would be a great first time experience. Now the fun part. They usually have parade laps around noon, for a nominal fee ($25) you can follow a pace car around the track for a few laps. I wonder how many 7's we could get in it?

Hi guys, sorry I missed the meet. Rick and I snuck down to RSR and wound up not getting back into town until about 11ish.
Rick had some problems with his secondary turbo actuating. dont we all just love that complicated sequential system.
On my end I had my car on the dyno. I was about to kill everyones HP for the day(except the 3-rotor), but then at about 6500 in 4th. the car bogged and unloaded a cloud of black smoke. apparantly, my TPS was screwed up(open at 100% all the time), it loaded with too much and my sparks fouled. it scared the **** out of me. especially since it wouldnt crank afterwards. it took us like 10-15 minutes just to get it to a rough idle. it seems to be ok now. i have cleaned the sparks & fixed the TPS.

Christina, don't sweat the dyno #s. This is your first car and 107 RWHP can be plenty of fun. If you got some colder air and and a full exhaust you should see some decent increase too.
Get in touch with me when you have a chance about GRR, so we can crunch some #'s.
If I can get the bugs worked out of my car I will probably go up to VIR to watch and run some parade laps.

Mazdaphiles-
Here is a video of a lap on the infield course at The Rock. Its several seconds off my fastest lap, but its fun to watch me play cat & mouse with this S2000. For those unfamiliar, no passing is allowed in HPDEs without a pass signal from the car in front. You can hear me having to back off the gas a couple of times.
Quicktime:

Same video but in MPEG-4

The Oak tree nationals would be a better IMO. More Rx7s and stuff.
Lee are you coming to VIR this weekend

Got to catch up on everything for the last couple of days. First about this weekend's drive up to VIR:
We are going to meet at the Caribou Coffee shop at Briars Creek Shopping Center off of Hwy 70. We should leave there by 9:00 AM to get to VIR before the parade laps begin. That will give us a couple of hours to get up there and some time to check things our before the noon break.
Right now Jesse, Josh, and I are the only ones onboard, Greg said that he might drive up on Sunday since he has to work on Saturdays. Anyone else want to join the caravan. It is a great drive up from Raleigh, we'll go thru Bahama like before and then up to Roxboro and on to VIR. If we leave by 9:00 we should make it up there around 11:00 or we can leave earlier if everyone is up for it.
I visited a place called Tires 'n Parts today in Raleigh and picked up a case of Royal Purple 20W50 syn oil. I changed my oil today and I'll see how it works. They can get any of the Royal Purple products for tranny, differential, etc. I picked up a bottle of Purple Ice for the cooling system and that will be the next giveaway prize at the next Drive-In that has all gens of RX7 present, two vert's, and an RX8.
I agree with Greg anyone that hasn't been to VIR is in for a treat, its a beautiful road course and the drive up is a lot of fun on some great back roads. Who is planning on meeting us on Saturday morning and how early do you want to leave?

Raleigh folks-
I'll be up at VIR instructing for MDA this weekend. Lord be willing and the creek don't rise I'll be driving the FD - if not, the Spec Miata. I can give one or several of you a ride if you would like - as long as you are interested in participating in one of their events in the future and you sign the waiver (and get the armband), you don't have to be an official student to go out with an instructor. At least those were the rules this spring with MDA. I have an extra helmet I'll bring with me. Look for a black Excursion with an open trailer and either a Montego Blue FD or a red Spec Miata #62 - I'll probably also have a blue EZ-Up as well. PM me with any ?s, or if you think you might show so I can be looking for you.
