I like that idea! We could all go to a baseball game... but we really shouldn't park our Rotaries in downtown durham for the Durham Bulls. Maybe if we park them somewhere like my house, then pile in ppl's SUV's. Just an idea. LOL I just know I'm not leaving my girl by herself in Durham. I used to live there, so I KNOW it's not safe.
Hmmm... Where else...
Josh, what time are you planning to leave Friday? I would like to tag along, but I need to know if it's cool if I ride shotgun with someone?
BTW, isn't it supposed to rain? (Are we still going if it is raining?)

Everyone needs to come to VIR on the 18th & 19th Its the mazda drivers weekend. It won't cost anything to get in. Just say you're with Mazda Drivers and sign a release. You can also run a few parade laps at lunch. Bert, Lee and I are driving that weekend so you can cheer us on. Plus there are a lot of sweet cars there
Jason: did you see my dyno sheet I put down 278 rwhp and its tuned safe I probably could have made more had it been cooler

Hey Johny, I'll be up at VIR that Saturday, I didn't make the cut with the money, besides I really needed to replace my shifter so I won't be taking the class but I plan on being there for the noon laps and to watch the drifting show you'll put on. Besides I want see that HP beast work her magic on the track.
I talked to Leith Dodge in Wake Forest and they can get us 20W30 Royal Purple at a case (12 quarts) for under $70. That splits into two oil changes so two people can go in together and split a case for $35 or less than $6 a quart. That's a good price for RP synthetic. I am trying to get a case for this weekend but they didn't know the delivery time.
Josh said he'd split this case with me but anyone else want to convert to RP engine oil and then go with it for transmission and differential? From my research its the best synthetic oil for rotary engines and their lubricants are also great for the transmission and differential as well.
Let me know if you're interested for your next oil change.

But I think the idea is good to try an event out to gage the interest. This would be an alternative, a chance to drive somewhere and share a new experience. I/ve never been to drag racing and think it'd be fun. We can also do other stuff as the ideas come in and if there are 4-5 people interested in doing something.
Johny has extended an invitation to join him at VIR on Saturday or Sunday and see their track and layout, you'll also get a little track time during the lunch break. Anyone interested in going up together?

Hey everyone haven't posted in a while. Car is finally nearing completion if I can finishing hunting down the last couple parts I need. Hopefully I can make it up to one of the meets in July, if not I am moving into a townhouse in Raleigh in the first week of August so I will be attending regularly then. Had a little incident on my motorcycle a couple days ago.
Was coming out of the neighborhood on a day it had been raining but the roads were semi-dry and when I went into a lean I must have hit some oil or antifreeze because the bike just kept on leaning over. So there I go sliding on the asphalt and there goes the bike sliding as well. The frame slider broke off when it hit so the fairing was dragging on the ground, tore off the mirror and turn signal on that side too. Luckily I was wearing all my gear so I just got some lovely road rash were my pants got torn up and my arm kind of half popped out of the socket then popped back in. I must have hit the same slick spot when I hit cause my jacket didn't really have any marks on it.
The bike ended up in the grass on the side of the road so I went over and picked it up, while all of this was happening about 5 cars passed by and no one even slowed down. There was even someone in front of me pulling out of the neighborhood as well, they had to notice but maybe they didn't cause they just kept going. Oh well, hope everyone else is having better luck then me.

damn rob that bites. thats why i gave up the bike thing a long time ago. most drivers have their heads up their asses. that is bad enough when you are in another car something that they are trained, and i use the term lightly, to look for. nobody looks for bikes. i have actually had girls tell me, "i never see a motorcycle until the very last minute" i'm glad you made it out this time without much harm. tell ashraf to hurry with that car. I mean I didn't even take this damn long, and it was my first time (i know a lot had to do with waiting on parts)

guys I'm looking for a third gen body, no need for a motor or tranny, all I need is the shell. I plan on dropping my FC motor into a third gen body so if anyone knows of one or anybody with one, please tell me.

Agh, this is not a good week for me and mechanical things. I've killed two lawn mowers and two RX-7's. All minor, but all not working right now.
My FC's voltmeter was reading a bit low, I checked everything out and my alternator belt was a little too loose. I just changed the belt a couple of months ago and tightened it as much as I could, but it was still a bit loose. My dad looked at it, loosened the bolt, and wiggled it a bit, it just seemed the tightening bolt was stuck in one position. Got it loose, tightened belt, everything was cool. Except..he got it TOO tight. Belt snapped. I have more, must replace tomorrow. Heh.
And the FB, I was bored today so I decided to finally put in the thermostat I've been putting off for a week. Took off the radiator hose, started to take the bolts off of the little connecting pipe. The first one came out fine. It was a bit rusted, I needed to run to the parts store to replace it. No biggie. The second one... broke off on me. Crap. Now I need to get my hands on some bolt extraction stuff, and I have none here.
So, I have two 7's, and neither work right now. I guess the moral of the story is if you have one car down, don't tinker with the other.
