Holy rap!! You guys became a sticky in my move over here Guess it was bound to happen sometime. i was looking for the thread and got to page 3 before i saw it at the top. D'oh
Anyways, I was wondering what the May meet schedule is? Hoping that there is a meet on Sat the 28th. We are going to try to get to the NASCAR race on the 29th in Charlotte and was thinking of making a weekend out of the deal. I'll look around some more for the May schedule but if you all don't mind repeating info i would appreciate it.
The cars came thru so-so i guess. Between the 2 companies that had it someone broke a few mounting tabs omn my bumper(front) Kinda upsetting but I needed a re-paint and repair anyways i guess. Only problem is that one is blaming the other and it will never come to an end so i will most likely just eat it so to speak. Other than that, all i can say is WOW! I get awsome gas milage on the Interstaes so far averageing 23.3 MPG Better than the 15.5 I got in Hawaii!
Talk to you guys soon. Looks like you all had Too much fun in deals gap with the zip-tie squad!
Aloha, Dave

Welcome to North Crap-o-lina, Dave.
In other news.... last weekend I ripped off my turbo in preparation for some extreme wastegate porting that I have been putting off for way to long. Plan on getting it back on this weekend. Finally I will be able to drive my car to it's full potential without fear of that nasty boost creep that I had. For those of you who don't know, I was only able to go like half throttle without hitting boost cut which I have set at 12psi, it was overboosting bad.
So anyway, yeah, somebody let me know if you're coming out this way this weekend.
Jason

Hey guys! I know you guys have been wondering where my wonderful posts have been, I have switched jobs and been in training, not to mention now I have a job that won't let me sit in front of the computer for hours on end.
Greg, those sites are coming together great. The RRDI site is awesome; I love the picture of the Raleigh skyline as the opener.
Jason, glad you are gonna get the boost issue solved. I htink you will enjoy your car a hell of a lot more.
Johny, before you make a trip to Florida call Rotorsports, at least they are a lot closer.
Christina, I am about to PM you, sorry I have been so scarce.
Taylor, how is the car running, still holding together?
Dave, we definitely have a meet on the 28th, but we also have on on the 14th if you are free.
Steve, how's the rebuild?
Anyhow, everyone take care.

Glad to see you posted something for Johny, he gets upset if he isn't included in replies. Something about his new Turbo Tiffany being fast and he expects the same attention to his needs that tiffany gives him.
Anyway what I really wanted to say is that after Ray replaced his shifter he got me motivated to start seriously looking at what mine needs. I took the shifter boot off last night and the large rubber boot has either been cut away or most of it has melted away at some point in the past. I could see straight past the shifter to the ground. I found out why all the hot air is coming into the passenger compartment from under the car, nothing to block it.
I immediately went online and ordered the short shifter kit and all the boots and bushings I could find from Mazdatrix. I realize that the shifter connects to a linkage that goes to the tranny to perform the gear shifts but is there something missing under my car? Are the rubber boots the only things that keep the hot air coming off the exhaust from getting into the passenger area?
Oh yeah, Johny how you doing? I am still waiting to hear on the prices for the mansion in April.

Bert: Yeah, the rubber boots are it. The shifter ball just goes into the tranny, and you bolt the shifter on with three bolts, and that's all there is aside from the boots. But as long as you have the proper inner boots as well as an intact shifter boot that's all you need.
I just got back from paying my GSL-SE a visit. Didn't have the transmission ready to install, but I did put in an amp and some speakers, so it's happy. I'm planning on taking the S5 tranny into a tranny shop to get them to remove the @&@*! vibration balancer on Friday. I'm hoping I can then get it in on Friday and have it back on the road by Friday night. Then...I can rest. Finally.

The boots are pretty much the only thing that keeps the heat out, Bert. That's where there are like three or four of them. You don't notice it much in the winter but in the summer it can get a bit uncomfortable. I could use some new boots but I've still gotta get strut mounts and shocks. I've started a girl recently and unfortunately I think everyone here knows how much that cuts into the mod budget!

Yeah, women suck. That's why I'm single and I drive an RX-7.
My Lindsay loves the full-time attention. Haha. She's the only girl for me... hell, let's see... 1987... she's finally legal this year! wooo.
My car's not jailbait anymore. Yay!

Bert,
I think I'm getting sensitive in my old age, so thanks for the mention.
The short shifter is one of the best mods you can do, yeah it feels notchy, but notchy feels better than a stick in a 5 gal bucket.
Stina, my 86 is called "Lindsy Nicole"
Josh, I hope the new job works out good for ya.
Steve, Are you busy making wedding plans or rebuilding?
Johny

Hey guys... do any of y'all have a parts car with a Turbo II black wing that I can buy off ya? I'm sick of being wing-less.
I prefer it to be black, just cuz I don't have any obnoxious yellow at this point in time to match it, so black would at least coordinate with the hatch, moulding, and tails.
I am trying to stay away from an extremely multi-colored FC for as long as possible. I need to replace the front passenger headlight, cuz of that lip that's bent down, but I know none of y'all have another yellow one, so I'll just wait.
Please let me know, though if you can part out a wing to me. Help a fellow rotary buddy out!
Thanks y'all!

if ray started a new woman we may never see his FC again, and just when it got that shiny new paint job. we will miss you bud. if you ever have thoughts of getting something larger, family oriented, I am sure one of us can give that FC a happy home.
as for me I am about halfway through my coilover install. next up all new leather, well actually leather/suede.
Johny, still thinking about a Florida trip for the computer?

Yeap, i have been working on my car. I got her running today... She Braps like crazy, i think it is a combination of the street port and some idle problems. Got an oil leak some where i got to fix, and i got to change out my thermostat for one a little cooler.
I did get all of my gauges installed, as well as my carpet, thats what i was dredding the most. Too tired to type right now, gone to take a nap...

Well the $300 FC didn't work out, it has a really bad oil leak and needs a new trailing coil pack, so w/o paint and interior it's not worth it. JKM you want to sell your red one?
