Well me and Tiffany had a lot of time together this weekend. I drove to the Eastern Shore of Va.(Where my daughter lives) Then I went to Va beach to pick up my mother ( She lives near me but was down visiting my Sister) . The car ran beautifully I had the top open, wind in my hair, (both of them. ha) and Bruce Springsteen playing. The old Bruce , The River, Thunder road, If I have to explain You wouldn't understand. Im sure Greg knows what I'm talking about
On the way home today was a different story My mom, 75 years young, her walker and wheelchair in the hatch along with enough stuff to fill a small house. We had a good ride she asked me all about the SAFC and the boost gage, and stuff.
I forgot to mention I got 26 miles to the GAL. and I was boosting a little. When I came through the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel I had to hear what My Greddy P.E. sounded like, and I also made my BOV go off to hear it in the tunnel.

I know I'm rambling but what the heck.... Back to Va beach at the strip There was a bunch of guys on the corner. I overeheard them " Look at that Porsche". "thats not a Porsche its an RX7" the smart guy corrected. " Hey" they yelled "thats a nice looking 7 can you get on her for us". Well........ Thats like asking Michael Jackson if would like to have a sleepover at a boys camp.! So I gave them a little show and the RFL BOV is Really F*$@ing loud.
I hope ya'll had a good weekend too.

Now that's a picture that I wish I had, a sweet looking FC, with an old guy driving it, his mother ridin' shotgun, and a wheel chair and walker in the back. I can't imagine what those guys on the corner were thinking either.

Glad you had a great weekend. Sounds like the car is doing great. I worked on my car this weekend and had a lot of fun. The passenger side tail light has always been misaligned and stuck out about a half inch on the top side. I took it off the car, and found that the lense had not been remounted correctly, somebody had put too much weatherstripping gunk behind the lense that kept it from fitting flush. I did it correctly and now it fits like it should've. Also started working on my cold air box to compliment the Apexi air filter I mounted this winter. Lots of fun!

2006 TOTD Lodging

Still waiting to hear from the mansion concerning prices for April of next year. I'll let everyone know when I get their email.

Christina, the 2nd Saturday in May is on the 14th and the 4th is on the 28th.

Ray, Yes I'd like to see how that shifter fits the car and it is worth it to replace the factory shifter or just rebuild the original. Does the Factory shift know fit the short shifter from Mazdatrix?

I rebuilt the original before I even bought Steve's shifter, and gave it to him when I bought the short shifter. As far as the actual shifting action goes there's nothing to rebuild really except replace two bushings. Everything else is just insulation really. When you replace the bushings it will feel more precise. Before I got new bushings it would feel like I could put the shifter sort of in between the gates (especially on a the 2nd-3rd shift) and make a horrible grinding sound. I couldn't really do that afterwards, and the stick didn't feel so loose when the car was in neutral. The throw was still a mile long though. New bushings will cost you like $20 new from Mazda.

The mazdatrix short shifter only fits the S4 ****. Steve has several s4 ***** in good shape that I'm sure he'll just give to you, or you could buy an aftermarket ibe that will fit the threads as well.

DUDE... he came by my work (Blockbuster) the other night and we talked about the RX-7 (cuz someone else had one in the parking lot, so I had to find out who owned it)... and he gave me his website URL, and I gave him and the other Rx-7 guy the forum URL. Teehee.

...Well since y'all have heard of him, I guess my work is done here. LOL

Rotaryaviation.com and rotaryresources.com are the URLs he gave me.

Yeah Johny... The Norfolk area tunnels are my FAVORITE when it comes to being in my car... hehe.

I need a better exhaust... mine's crappy... I'd love to sell it to someone.

The guy that had the other 7 at my work drove a red 87 vert... he was borrowing it from someone cuz he wanted to buy it. So we stood outside for like 30 mins and talked about all sorts of stuff. he kept asking questions about little stuff that goes wrong in the car. I answered alot of his questions (thanks to this lovely forum of knowledge) and told him to check out the forum for any questions that he needed answered... cuz 99.9% chance says that about 700 people have had the SAME problem somewhere along the way.

...I think the guy was hitting on me, cuz I had such an interest in cars and especially the RX-7. LOL. What's funny is that he's still in high school. Good thing none of y'all have that problem. ...Or at least I hope not.

There's a lady who came into my work the other day to track me down since she saw my 91 parked outside, as she has one and it is having issues. She's planning on selling it but it needs to be fixed up a bit and asked if I knew of anyone around here who worked on them. Anyone interested?

had an awsome trip up there to NC this weekend and put another 1200 miles on the motor. she's got 1800 miles now and feels REALLY good. Thanks steve for letting me work in your driveway .....in the rain....... to put those new oil cooler lines on. FINALLY ALL of my oil leaks are gone for good. haha. by the way steve did you ever get that seal in? maybe you didnt lube it up enough...haha. all i need now are the 720cc secondaries and my car will be exactly how i want it (for now anyway). so if anyone has any or can get some for a good price let me know please. For all you guys that need the microtech tuning, im gonna go down to central florida turbo tomarrow and talk to rolo about prices. by the way he not only tunes microtech but also haltech, AEM, and just about anyother engine management systems out there. he even does SAFC's which he is gonna do mine. so all you guys need to road trip down here and we can have one big tuning day or something.
oh yeah and on the way home from nc i raced a vette and stayed with it!!! i was so excited. i cant wait til i can turn up the boost when i get those injectors, then next time ill be able to beat one. haha anyway we went up to about 145 then stopped cuz it wasnt really going anywhere...anyway i got a thumbs up and he sped off.
i also ran a 14.3 at the track right b4 i came...is that good for 10 psi? and i had my system in the back which weighs about 100 lbs....oh and there was wheel hop too. alright well i guess thats all i have to say for now so ill talk to you guys lata..

My microtech is not installed yet it does have the connectors soldered and taped. Im dead serious about getting this in my car. I will be on Vacation from May 15 to May 22 So maybe the first week or so of June. How long of a ride from N.C. to Fla.? I don't need a hard dollar price just a ballpark. Thanks for doing this.

Great job Greg on the websites and the pictures, I also like the write-ups you did. The skyline shot of Rawly at night is awesome, didn't know Rawly could look so good. Thanks for the work and commitment to making those happen.

I hope this weekend turns out OK for everyone. I know it sucks being mom's day on Sunday but the Blue Angels were at Cherry Point! I really hate I can't make it 'cause of work. Someone let Jason know what we're doing so he can meet up in New Bern on Saturday or in Havelock on Sunday.
