Pics are working fine for me. Did you guys try turning off your internet security program? (like Norton Anti-virus)
Josh, did you sell your Efini Y-Pipe, I'd like to buy it if you haven't sold that yet. Along with those Floor matts as well.

Well, Christina and I were talking and will be trying to plan the event.
I think one of these two locations would be best:
1)Falls Lake/Dam
2)Lake Jordan
The event would be in early August, that way it would be before classes start, and would be hot enough for anyone who wanted to swim or what have you.
Camping would be optional for those who want to stay out afterwards.
That is the only solid stuff for right now. Everyone's opinions are welcome, so please, give some to us.

Allright guys, I would like to hear your opinion about something... I know you don't know me, but you don't really for this question....
My situation is that I REALLY want an FC, have loved them forever, and I kinda have the oppurtunity to get it now.... However, if I get it it will be my daily driver, so I can't have it crap out on me..... The other car I am thinking about would be a 240sx.... The reason behind this is I also really like these cars.... My brother has been a big fan of them and nows a lot about them.... Also, he is now a beginning mechanic and will be working on a lot of 240s.... This means I will be able to get some free labor along with maybe free parts for a 240...
I would still love to have an FC, because they are just so cool and fast, but the reliability issue really bugs me.... So, what would you guys do, get the FC or the 240?
Oh and I know you all love 7s, I do to, but its not exactly the best idea for me now.... Or is it.... I'm confused and would like to hear other opinions.... Thanx to everybody who responds.....

The 240SX basically has a bulletproof engine with the KA24. a N/A rotary can easily break 100K if well maintained.
However, most guys seem to wind up doing the RE20DET, SR20DET or turbocharging the KA24, to gain more power. Boosted engines die earlier. The higher the boost, the less miles it is gonna run.
If you put a new/rebuilt, stock engine/turbo setup in a TII it should be reliable for at least 80-90K. Again, this all has to do with how much you intend to ask from the car/engine. Just like the KA24 or SR20 if you boost it high and drive it hard you will shorten the life.
i would say it is a just a matter of which one you prefer. like most of us, if you love the rx7 enough you put up with it's shortcomings. i know i did/do when i bought my FD
with that in mind, i have been thinking of picking up a 240SX as my next project. I would be sticking with a rebuilt KA24 and just doing suspension mods. With the stock engine i htink you can expect to see 150-200K. However, it wouldnt be boosted, or anything like that. I am looking for something i can flog on the track without having to worry and the KA has more low end torque than the N/A rotary.

Yeah, the thing is, even if the engine does crap out on me in the 240 my brother and I would actually know what to do with it....
And if I get the 240 I might get an RB20DET like my brother has....
Actually, its kinda sad to say, but I am leaning more and more towards the 240.... Sorry Rob....

oh and the rotary is not some huge mystery that can't be unraveled like some of the guys on this forum make it seem.
we have a pretty strong group here in raleigh, including some very talented 13b mechanics, like Steve. Most of who would be willing to help.

Well I went to get my tires rotated today, and had Firestone check out my brakes... cuz the idiot light has been on since I can remember. (for a while it was on for NO reason, so I just started to ignore it)
Anyway, the guy checked my brakes for me, and I am close to being metal to metal!! I need new pads AND rotors. (haha my car has 6 rotors! MWAHAHAHAA) Seriously, tho... I refuse to pay $700 for them to do it for me (that was their quote!!), so do y'all know which brand and where I can get decent pads and rotors? My dad said he would definitely do the front rotors and pads, and change the rear pads. Money is UBER scarce, but I REALLY need them, cuz yeah... I don't wanna die in an RX-7... maybe be BURIED in one, but not die in one! The other problem is he won't be able to do them any day this week but tomorrow night, because he is going out of town Friday. I may attempt to do them myself... but that's just a little bit more of a life-threatening job than this amateur is willing to attempt. Hehe
Let me know whether Autozone, Advance Auto, or somewhere else is cheaper... and has a good product.
Thanks guys!

You can definately get them through autozone but I'm pretty sure they won't have the right rotors in stock. Probably the brake pads, but not the rotors. I got some replacement front pads and they were less than $15 at Autozone. I also bought some rear pads but they were NOTHING CLOSE to what they were suppose to be like. It turned out that they had the wrong info in their database and we were unable to find the right ones. I'll do it for you if you can wait till summer, I'm really busy right now winding up with school for the semester.

It's cool... I totally understand. Thank you though! I worry that they may not last another couple of weeks until the semester is out. I'll check out autozone, tho... hopefully they will have the right ones for the FC in their database.

$44 each for the front rotors. $14 for the front pads. $29 for the rear pads? all at the autozone.
~$140. you could probably skip the rear pads for now, or did they say those were worn too? they don't tend to wear as quickly as the fronts.
do you have a place to work? if so i could probably swing by this weekend and help you out. it would be a good time to discuss the GRR stuff too; just a thought.

Christina, I just replaced my front rotors with some brand new slotted and dimpled rotors before going to Deals Gap. My rotors were in good shape and the pads I removed had a lot of use still left.
If you'd like to have the rotors and pads until you can do something permanent I can get them to you, I live near Wake Forest and you can get them put on tonight or tomorrow. You have 5 lug hubs right?
Call my cell 919 247 3884 if you're interested
