As Greg said, everyone check out the Raleigh to Deals Gap Caravan thread. Send either Greg or I your cell phone numbers, and bring money for your GRR T-shirts and also I'll have all the Deals Gap awards, including the Deals Gap Owners Award that the Raleigh Rotary Drive-In will be sponsoring. It should be about $40 so we'll divide that by the number of cars that make the trip, no more than $5 a piece, and someone from our group will get to make the presentation. We might even talk Greg into singing his RX7 song before the award is presented at the Saturday night dinner, everyone does have a tux for this event right? Well, how about those t-shirts with the tux printed on the front with a few grease stains?

Just 6 days 'til we leave!

Stab in the dark, but would any of you guys have a spare, working lead coil, and igniter laying around that I can borrow.

I was all ready to bring the car out last night, but the damn thing wouldn't start. Started in the morning, but not in the afternoon. you can assume how excited I am.

I suppose if nobody does I will have to order them. I have my money on the igniter, since the coil passes the check mandated in the book. However, some guys said that the coil can be fried, but still pass. I suppose it has to do with the resistance being less when it is cold, etc.

Thanks Johny, but I think I have a lineup on a FD coil & igniter. I might make it to TOTD after all.

Hey guys, first of all i should apologize for not making it to the meet. I honestly didn't even realize we were having one this weekend. But hey, the weather wasn't to great either way right?

I did have a little fun today with some friends around campus in our cars. Here's two videos we put together.

Here's my dyno vid
...and here's the video of our whole day

And for the numbers that I put down, all i gotta say is that the 303rwhp is accurate but we're still pretty undecided about that damn torque number.

BTW - you shoulda seen the looks on the guys faces when we wanted to dyno the e55. They thought it was joke and were almost speachless when they saw the numbers.

we figured the hp was fine but the torque was doubled due to the wire only being on one of the leading plugs.

ok so i got the car problem straightened out thanks to Jonathan. It was the leading coil.

still looks like my car won't be up for the 5 hour trip to the mountains. that is i don't want to chance it without having logged some time. so the question is; does anyone have a passenger's seat i can ride in. we can split gas, which is no small feat these days. If not I will try and catch the stragglers at this weekends meet.

Hey guys...
Did anyone ever decide to buy those two black FC's that Capn put up on here a while ago?

I just blew the front rotor on my '91 FC3C and I may be interested in a running engine... also perhaps a left-front fender and some other odds and ends... hell, I might even consider buying the damn things even if no one else is interested... but I don't know if they're still out there and all.

On a related note, anyone heard of any s5 TII powerplant/tranny's for sale? I was thinking that if I have to bother to fix the damn thing, I might as well upgrade. Parts are not so easy to find though... so maybe I'll just rebuild it. Any ideas?

Johny, Josh is your responsibility, get him to Deals Gap. We'll all chip in and buy a tow strap if you end up taking your 4Runner, maybe you can tow his FD up there. But you need to check your gaskets and tighten the screws and we all would sure like to see that white beauty on the road.

WannabeFC is interested in the black FC that capn posted pictures of that is in good condition. I guess he actually wants to buy both and sell the parts one for $500 or something like that.

i honestly would have no clue how to do that. I could maybe try to do it but even then, I don't know how to host these files. I'll ask my friend to do it though.

Yeah, I am planning on getting the one in good condition, but I don't need the parts car.... If anybody needs it, let me know....
