they are DEFINITELY easier to work on outside the bay. Especially, when you can rotate and get to the bottom as easily as the top.
It is actually more assembled now than in those pics.
It won't be quite as pretty when you guys first see it. The rest of it will be somewhat mismatched, since I gotta stop spending so much time powedercoating and more time getting it back together.
I think I will wait to make the unveiling before we drive to Deal's Gap, that way I have more time making pretty.
As far as the talcom powder it might not be a bad idea. I do already have diaper cloths for detailing the car.

Hey guys.
Well, it is time that I am getting out of the RX-7 business. I am putting my 86 up for sale. I set up a little site http://fc4sale.homeip.net that has some data and pictures (and a short movie)
I have had a lot of fun with the car, but I need to move to a larger vehicle, as my family is again growing, and there is no time to play anymore (at least for a while)
I am interested in sell to a fellow RX-7 club member, as I know you guys will take care of the car and appreciate the car for what it is...
Anyway, the price is somewhat negotiable, and getting it off my driveway soon is a priority (or else I will be tempted to drive it, then not sell it

You need a nice oil filler cap to set that engine off properly. Go on ebay and buy you a metal one and powder coat it the same blue. Better yet I'll bring you an aluminum billet cap that you can powder coat. Are you thinking of entering it in the Deals Gap car show? If so we might want to bring along some car wash stuff. One of the Zcars guys says they have a hose at Fontana Village but you need to bring you own car detailing stuff. We'll have to share the load since I got a feeling that cargo areas are gonna be full of luggage and parts and tools and the like.

Wow, damn nice work Josh. I really love the glossiness of the top pieces. Makes me wanna take my engine out just to clean it up!! Do you think it'd be possible for you to get a shot of your engine where the flywheel mates up? I just want to see how it fits up there before I take mine off.
What manifold is that too?

well i had hoped to have it ready for the car show, but i don't know if i will have time to get all the details ironed out. If I work really hard it might happen. It would be nice to get into the RXTuner Mag.
I will take a pic of the back end/flywheel ASAP. Are you asking about the exhaust manifold? it is a tubular manifold from SRMotorsports(or at least I think it is, it came with the engine, and I think that is where Jon got his turbo kit from). It is a well built piece.
thanks for the compliments. sooner or later it will be even glossier, when i clearcoat it, but I have been having problems with the clear cracking after it cools. i am doing research to try and find out what the deal is so I can clear the more visible parts.

What would happen if you put an FC NA engine in an FD body. You'd have one of the most beautiful and reliable rotary machines ever built. And you'd be able to get to rotary drive-ins on time!

I have always wanted to have a n/a 13B streetported engine with a carb in a FD body. Would be reliable, comfy and it would also be good looking! What more could you ask for?

...I really want a bad @$$ FC engine in an FD body... that would rawk. I'd still keep my FC as my main daily driver, though... cuz they're just cute.

Would you guys stop all this, you sound like Chip and Dale, haha
Josh that engine looks Fatt, I talked to my painter today he assures me that I will get my car on the 15th. That doesn't leave me much time to install test and break-in my engine.
Don't you love the way Miss Perky says I need a place to stay me and my hot little friend and then........................ winds up bringing her boyfriend!
I think this is called bait and switch. hahahah
Its all good Stina please don't take me or the rest of us serious unless we're talking RX's
I think we need to look into renting the big house next year. That's what the RX8 people did judging from the pic (sorry I can't post a link)

I would comment on the bait and switch, but if you'd met Christina's friend, Amanda, you'd know it would be another couple of years before I lived down the underage girl thing.
I agree about the big house for next years event.
Good luck with the car, I hope it is ready for the TOTD.

Hmmm...does anyone have a spare room/bed/couch/floor that they could use another person to sleep for the Tail of the Dragon trip? All the talk last Saturday got me interested in possibly going.
Of course, I've always wanted to know how a sleeping bag in the back of the FC might work...

i dunno how it is gonna work out. we have a cabin. i suppose since Christina is bringing her man they will want one of the rooms with a single bed. i can bunk in the room with the two twin beds, which leaves one twin bed open, but i snore. So if you or Taylor are heavy sleepers you are more than welcome to crash on the other bed. Then we have a couch/living room if someone wants to bring a sleeping bag. I would think we could work something out on rates(i.e. the more uncomfortable your accomodation the cheaper your share or soemthing. )
i am putting this out there, but it is only valid if Christina and Johny are cool with it.
so i guess in answer to your question....maybe.
Johny, Christina, post or PM me if you have problems with this and I will stop offering.

Also, yes, Josh... if we can make the rate cheaper, that would rock... if necessary, i will bring a sleeping bag and sleep on the floor! I just wanna go... even if sleeping in my car is the only option. But anyway, the more the merrier... it will make for some interesting future drive in discussions... Pajama party in the cabin! wooo!

I don't think I'll get involved in this discussion. Y'all are all adults, work it out so that everyone remains friends - just friends.
I just ordered a set of new front rotors and EBC red stuff brake pads all around for my car, and will have my tires rotated and balanced a couple of weeks before we go. Everyone else pay attention to the maintenance needs of your cars, as they say in the military take care of your car and it'll take care of you, well they really don't say car but the idea is the same.
Johny remember to send pics when your car is painted, we want to see the engine bay, did you ever decide what color under lights you were going with? I personally think blue would look best with a white paint job. I do recommend that you rethink the tribal graphics and spinners though.
