PBOC Motorsports Club? Also, drag racing in the Montgomery area.
I was looking around for track days and I noticed one in October or November (...) for Barber Motorsports Park, with the PBOC Motorsports Club. Apparently they let guests attend one event before they're required to join.
It's apparently a Central Florida club, so I don't really intend to join (most of the events are at Sebring), but I wonder how much the Barber event costs?
Does anyone know?
(I'm also wondering what kind of rating a Bell motorcycle helmet you can be from WalMart would have... it says DOT on the back but that doesn't tell you much)
Also, it seems there's a few good places to drag race in the Montgomery area (which is thankfully only an hour away). Just wondering, but does anyone know how much it costs to race in a bracket race (like a tournament with cash prizes or something)?
I could technically go racing tonight (last class on Friday's ends at 4) but I don't think I'm up to it right now... maybe next week. (as long as I've got proper oil pressure and a working coolant system NA's are and their drivetrains are pretty bulletproof, right?)

I definately need to go to the track... doing 40-80 pulls at night just isn't much fun... (too worried that I'm going to get pulled over or run into something because it's so dark).
Maybe I'll go tommorow night... I need to go get two of my tires balanced though (I had to get them to remount them since they put them on backwards, but I forgot to make them rebalance them, plus I didn't have any time...).
Although it's really just me being totally used to slow cars, it seems pretty fast up till about 80 mMPH (which it'll reach fro 40 in a handfull of seconds, although I'm entirely unsure how long it actually takes), even for an NA (meaning just second and third gear acceleration, although third gear isn't bad at all, if you're above 4K)...
I don't expect I could do any faster than 16 in the quarter mile though... since 1, NA's are slow, and 2, I don't want to wreck my drivetrain or tires.

Cool deal man. Yea, I know what ya mean about the night deal. One good thing about doing it during the night is its easier to get turned off somewhere and maybe avoid that ticket...lol. Ive only run from a cop once and it was at night. I was racing...actually...I was showing my tail lightsan early 90s trans am in my 93 Mustang and I had an opportunity to get away luckily. I was shaking like a leaf. I dont reccomend running from the police. Anyway, I want to take my TII to the track before the tracks close, but I dont know if ill get the time or not. Let me know how ya do man. And take some video if ya can. Later .
