I was planning on stopping by Jeffrey's tonight, but I was in Chattanooga over the weekend and got back in late today. Here's a photo of the evil, soon to be Axis powers rat rod. Lolol. Now I just need to sell something to fund the project!!

Just rolled in Had to go thru a road block 2 miles from the house! Quite the exciting trip indeed..
Holly and OGTA crew,. What date(s) would be acceptable to you? Do you want to try to make it a meet in 08? October is a pretty busy month for me, so that is pretty much out. Soo pretty much November or December this year. Since haveing it in September(this month) is not enough notice for most. Understandable.
I had a great time meeting up with you guys/gals again. I'll see most of you at Pettit next month. And I bet I would venture down for another meet regardless of when/if you all head this way. Fun crew,.. and the burger was "almost" worth the 100 bucks in gas!! That's dedication,... or lunacy..who knows.
Good night/morning.

Dave and Stu, I can't believe you guys made it down! So how many miles round trip was that? If I'd known that you guys were coming I would have skipped out on the Hurricane party! Hope you guys got lots of pictures, please post them up!
Ian didn't make it?
I think a trip up Carolina way is an excellent idea, but given that we are Old Guys and those Carolina Boys are Young Guys, we better schedule on a weekend so we can put up at the local retirement home for the night.
What, no FB's? How strange.
So the count would be:
2 SA's = 3 12As
1 SE = 1 12A
1 FC = 0.5 12As
1 out of state FD = 1 12A
1 in state FD = 0.33 12As
Total 12As = 5.83. Not a big number but a great turnout non-the-less. We FBs better start showing up or this club is going to turn into the Young Guns with 13Bs!
(That would be YG@TB, in case you are wondering).
And thanks Holly for missing us guys. We needed to entertain our New Orleans visitors and Mike needed to stay home with Michelle. Don't know about Greg the Elder and Greg the Younger but I haven't seen them pop up in the Obits lately.
Looking forward to the pics Stu!

Hey Ray, It was over 500 round trip for me in total..wow! I was thinking of bringing the FB buut, I am still working bugs out and didn't want any issues. I will plan the mountain meet for a weekend. There is plenty of room at the cabin there in Saluda for everyone.
see ya soon, we would have told you but we wanted to suprise everyone. lame but it was a fun secret ops mission for us

Congrats big time to Elizabeth! Now I have a lawyer.
A mountain trip to Saluda? Sounds interesting. Where's Saluda?
I'll bet their jaws dropped when you and Stu walked in.
We need to start an Out-of-State gas fund for you guys who make the trip.
Looks like you were posting around 3:00 am Dave. You guys are crazy but we love you anyway.

Greg-the-Younger
Sorry I missed the meet. We just got back from vacation in California (family wedding).
Had to leave the 16 year old son home to play football (we did arrange some "supervision").
Nerve racking, but the house seems intact.

Ray, you are an old guy with a 12A (and we have almost 4000 posts to prove it).
He is a 16 year old with a dirty Jeep.
Sorry, but you're out!
But don't feel bad, so am I.

Jeez am I up to 4000 already? I don't want to look. Tell him I have a jeep, if that will help next time.
Hey Dave, looks like the Police were admiring your car!
I can't believe I missed a new SA too:
This must be Andrew? Nice car. He ain't too bad either, what'd think Holly, you like 'em young?
Thanks for the pics Stu!

It's not looking good for Sabine's motor.
Sabine: Front - 75psi dead
Rear - 65psi dead
Grace: Front - A tick over 81psi
Rear - 80psi dead
Crit said something like you lose just a smidge thru the line, so they should be a hair higher in reality..not sure by how much. Crit?

The gauge has about 3-ft of very small diameter tubing. Because of that, the compression ratio is a little lower, because your compressed volume is artificially high (like a thick headgasket on a boinger). The gauge will register a little lower, but Collin definitely has good comparison data. Sabine's motor isn't toast, BTW, as it runs fine, but you're better off using the engine and trans out of the blue car.

He said something like the reading will be just a little bit lower than what the compression really is.
We'll have to see what he says. After all, he did make the thing.
Still...that's a pretty massive difference from my 189,000 miler to the 76,000 Sabine's motor has covered. Again, I'm pretty sure it's been overheated multiple times and I think it'd just be better to pull the motor and tranny out of Grace to swap them over to the other car.
*EDIT* Well I s'pose I spoke too soon...
It runs alright other than running half up the gauge which is too hot. BUT it also takes a good deal longer to actually fire over than Grace's motor. I had a very terrible feeling that the compression test would yield poor results on Sabine, but I wasn't wanting to admit it to myself...but, ignorance gets you nowhere... So the test had to be done.
I was also a little concerned about testing Grace's motor, but it makes me happy knowing the results are actually pretty good!
*Edit x2*
So apparently my starter could be a factor in this. Brett replaced his starter fairly recently and his car spins quite a lot faster than mine. I'm going to assume (for now) that both results could have been quite a bit higher...but still...sabine's motor is very tired.
