Thanks for the update Paul.

I'm hearing good news about Mike, sounds like he's on the mend.

Hopefully he'll be back soon with his sage advice and witty humor.

Two things in short supply these days.

That was a fun mountain drive with you all, hope we can do one again soon.

I saw this pop up on Craigslist the other day, not a bad deal at all considering the wheels and body kit!

great stuff!! I’ve been trying for quite some time to stir up a small group around here. I gave up.. the most recent comment I got was a guy who told me there was a small group in Raleigh area just a few years ago. He said everyone moved away or sold cars. He sold his last year. So.. that’s where the Miata comes in.. now on the Miata club and meeting a group 1st Saturday monthly at Cary NC Mazda Dealer.. I’m going to this first one for me coming soon.. but!! All these guys want me to drive my “award winning 5 Letter” instead!! See Ray?!? You’re right!! I’m taking my NC first time. I’ll treat them to the 7 when it warms up a little. Just uploaded a Tune on my NC tonight.. man o man.. what a difference..

Do y'all regularly attend Caffeine & Octane? It was crazy to see FBs in the main lot last month! I'm usually there every month. My FB will be up there soon.

What area you referring too? Atlanta? Being in Raleigh NC I just don’t see rx7’s here. Of the few I’ve even seen driving around (all two of them!) none seem connected to any clubs. Alas..there’s a nice FD on Craigslist in Cary but I’ve not seen him/her on any threads/clubs etc. BTW boys and girls, Mazda is doing very well at 24 Hour Daytona.. go Boingers!!!

Yeah I was referring to Atlanta. Last month there were a few FBs and SAs in the main lot as well as a RHD FD. Rotaries don’t have a huge presence but it’s exciting when you see one!

I think Mike, Robert, Tim and Ray went to C&O last month. Those would have been the 4 SA/FBs you saw.

Its not a great rotary meet until we get to fix someones car (again!). What a great time we had. Met some true rotor heads at C&O too.

Robert, I'm lovin those waffles on your car! Couldn't have found a better home for em.

Give Mike some credit.

His rear end was leaking a couple days before the trip and he got that fixed in time.

And it was just his alternator, Brett had a couple spares in his parts shed.

yea, that's another great story about the rotary community.

Several years ago my kids gave me that car, a stock version of my modified car I've had since new.

A very generous rotorhead recognized an opportunity to do something special for a fellow Rx-7 nut , and not only gifted me those wheels to replace the out of place x wheels it came with, but also went to the trouble to refurbish them as well. I was floored by this act of kindness

And as if that wasn't enough he also turned me on to the fact that the white letter tires were once again available , completing the ensemble . The car is totally stock and the wheels and tires are the icing on the cake so to speak.

It's acts of thoughtfulness and generosity like that, that inspire stories like the train wreck motor.

Kindness begets kindness!
and proof there is no group like the rotor group!!

Thank you, Tim!

Cindy, my new wife, and I can attest to that. Still get a little choked up when I think back. Dang I need to make a run to Atlanta one of these days!! Hey fellas.. check out the 85 Red Five Letter on EBay. It has 8 days to go.. first bid $11k.. does it pass the smell test? Maybe it’s me but it looks and sounds too good. If it’s the Real MaGilla.. it’s going to go high and probably better off on BaT..,

That red 5 letter don't pass the Smell Test Paul.

It don't smell like a Nikki.

And at $11K you need to be kidding.

You can get 5 nice FBs for $11K.

With Nikki's that Smell Good.

And, Congrats Paul on the New Wife and the Five Rotor!

And I agree with Tim, nice Waffles Robert!

I did some digging.. original paint. It will go for big bucks. If it were on Bat it would easily go for $23,000.00+.. ive seen two (with ugly red leather interior) and 56-65k go for $21k and $22,250.. not nearly as clean as this one..” o Nikki you’re so fine, your so fine you blow my mind...say Nikki!!” I’m a fuel injection kinda guy myself.

I will never forget that night when the hillbilly redneck insisted on helping, it was a surreal situation to say the least. Crazy pandemonium and racket coming from inside the house with children going wild inside, the helpful hillbilly running around searching for heater hose like a maniac. Hard to put into words just how crazy it all was. I was so convinced he was on cranked up on something I felt my job was to kinda guard your wife, Cindy, in case it started to go wrong for some reason.

Another good story, I must say!!

I’m telling you when Robert looked at me over those glasses and said something about the twilight zone.. I thought I was going to **** myself laughing.. all of it moment to moment was something terrible wanting to happen... but it didn’t. I had my “spider sense” going and I’m not so bad myself in the self defense world.. but I’m just glad we didn’t have to find out..

Boys and girls!! I went to my first c n c today. I figured I would check out the TMR Miata group In Cary. I also thought maybe on such a cloudy cold day there might be a handful or so.. there were 100+ cars. I met nice people and saw some really nice Miata’s ... but I’m not sure it’s my cup of tea. I need the next OGTA meeting to be around here!! Lol!!

Anyway.. sorry I know it’s a bunch of Damn boingers... I’ll behave myself..

Paul, I understand that it can get wierd when 100+ hairdressers get together! Take the 5-letter next time and show them a real car!
