Old guys with 12As club meeting
Rotary Freak
Your mind is in the gutter Tim.
+2 from the Rotary Gods on that.
So are you going to Guide a Carolina Contingency down to the April 2 OGTA Meeting next week?
First Daylight Meeting of the year, Rotaries Galore are going to be there, even the LE.
I hear Holly might even show up.

Ray, I'll be there. Anyone seen Simonovich lately? He needs to show up.
Sorry to hear that Trey, must be frustrating after all that work building the engine.
But you know, three rotors aren't kids play, I'm sure you'll get it sorted out for DGRR.
Thanks for thinking about me Tim although makes me nervous, with all those other thoughts bouncing around your brain.
Let's keep it clean, ok?
Good luck with the beer and don't get in any Uber cars, OK?
We hope you can make it Max, I'll bring my timing light and a 10 mm socket, should have the ignition fixed in the parking lot.
Sounds like we're going to have a Party Tomorrow Night!
Holly's going to be there, you know what that means.

Can I be the Emperor?

yeah, even with just it being an NA 13B with some dead weight she was still quite peppy! haha and DGRR is the goal! and overall, I'm happy that my first thought once confirmed no compression was "well, let's drop it out, crack her open, and rebuild..." instead of "F this... I'm selling this project"

Ooooo Low blow bubba.
Bring your panels Ray, lets talk finish
Good for you Trey, don't let those boingers ever seduce you again.
I'm bringing the whole car James, some good panels, some bad, all pretty.
The LE has been real good to me, what a pleasure to drive.
I've been reading about finishes all day, I'm thinking single stage urethane is the way to go.
Do you want me to pop that transmission in the hatch area or do you want to pick it up in Jefferson?

Single stage is fine for something you aren't looking for any "pop", or something you don't need gas/oil resistance. Great practice, but keep it off the 7.
Might pick it up from you. I can't get a hold of the guy with the equipment I want to buy. So we will have some time to kill.
I'll pm you with the my phone number.
Ray,
I think it's less straightforward. Despite my efforts to set the points gaps ('79) and timing with a timing light, the following issues are persisting:
-Rough idle and increased likelihood of stalling once the car is fully warmed up
-Unable to separate the leading and trailing timing (they are firing nearly at the same time; wires and cap are all connected correctly)
-I have noticed on a couple of occasions after driving that a small amount of fuel is sometimes getting into the vacuum line leading to the trailing vacuum chamber (on the distributor)
An additional note: I have installed a RB exhaust and, as far as I can remember, the problem was not present prior to this modification.
Any thoughts?

Have you considered upgrading to an electronic distributor and ignition?
It takes a real purist to put up with points and since you've already replaced the thermal reactor with RB .....

Waffles - hmmm good

Sounds like the plates in the dizzy for advancing vaccum and mechanical advance are both sticking and not doing their jobs. It would be worth setting the timing to TDC, pulling the dizzy and disassembling, cleaning and lubing with cam lube (thank GSLSEforme for that tidbit). I bet it would do wonders for your timing issues.
Good question Greg!?
Are you planning on going? It'd be good to see you.
Max, not sure on the dizzy upgrade but I imagine you just need an FB dizzy with two good ingniters.

Greg, Yes we're still meeting the 1st Tuesday of every month at Taco Mac, Mall of Georgia. We have "Rotary Extra" OGTA meets usually on the 3rd Thursdays of the month at remote locations in the area.
Hope to see you there tonight.
Hope to see you there tonight.
Seems more like a carb issue rather than ignition. Are you flooding? Fuel should not make its way away from the carb (except when going to the engine). If you are flooding and then shutting off the vacuum source (the engine) the fuel could make its way out to the lowest point in the vacuum system (the bottom of the advancers). Stumbling and bucking and otherwise poor running is also commonplace for poor fuel delivery or in your case too much fuel.

Wish I could make one of these. Just a little out of my jurisdiction. Ray the LE looks pretty damn good. Almost as good as a trump combover.! The Repu’s are exceptional as well. Would be nice to see some engine bays too. Did Mike ever show up?
