Only this one for now. I'm meeting with him this weekend when he gets back into town.I know it's high millage so I'm going into expecting to do a rebuild but we will see. Will still work well for my plans. I just want something I can slowly work on and just have a but if fun on the track.
Thanks Ray and Paul for the birthday wishes! I did not realized I had gone this long without checking in. Bought another Rotary support vehicle, (a one owner 1990 Mazda B2200), a feature rotary engine vehicle. Between working on that and my other B2200 and everything else around the house, did never took the time to get on line. Anyhow, thanks, and yes the cats are hilarious, by the way, nice costume Ray!
Hi all I wanted to show off the new member of the familia!!! just got it yesterday. 1973 Rx2, this weekend the restoration begins!!!!
Sweet ride dude! At least you know the body has already been looked at to some degree. Thats usually the part i fear most as I have little to no experience there.
So I figured I would throw it here first since everyone is fairly local but.........
no one has a rear end (or knows where to get one) for a '79 model do they? A GSL would be sweet but I could leave it stock setup as well.
Also. Are the full size spares suppose to sit flush in the spare wheel well or have I gone crazy? I bought a rubber mat that I'm cutting to size for the hatch area but trying to minimize the hump and I remember seeing T3 or someone selling spare tire covers but I assume they will only work if there is no spare unless it sits flush.
I don't see how a full size spare could fit flush with the spare well of an SA Mr. Nix, the FB's all have small temporary spares to make that happen. I have plenty of small temporary spares if you need one.
On the rear end, you may want to consider upgrading to an 84/85 GSL or GSL-SE unit, I think that's an option for the SA.
That sure is a fine looking RX-2 Mr. Meds, nice find! We hope to see it and you in the flesh one day down here in Georgia, or up in the mountains.
Hey, did ya'll know that "leknaw" is "wankel" spelled backwards? It's true!

I have a rear end but its for a future project that invloves an LSD given to me by
Robert. Sorry.
The spare tire on an SA doesn't sit flush. Mine has a 205/60 tire on it and sticks up
about 1 to 1.5 inches. I imagine with the stock width tire that is less but not
flush. You could do like Ray says and get an FB spare to throw in there if you are
worried about not having but need it flush.

Thank TG! Ill just keep perusing the local craigslist/ebay adds until I can land one. Maybe I'll attempt to rebuild mine if that's even possible. I'm not exactly sure what is going on back there yet.
Well everything did pan out and exchanged money and title today and picking it up tomorrow. he informed me that he actually doesnt know what it stopped running he just parked it came out and it wouldnt start so for all i know it could just be the starter or something small but i'll tear into it tomorrow and see what i find. Cant wait to start stripping it down and getting ready for building
Well started getting into the fc pretty sure motor is carbon locked but the body seems solid so worth my 200 bucks lol. well see if we can get it broke loose this week. It's gonna be a long long project but I found some cool stuff while going through it.whoever owned it before the last couple owners must have loved this thing something fierce. There are records for literally everything up till 02. Coolest thing was the original receipt! Also had a bunch of the original registration documents
