Old guys with 12As club meeting
Yeah Tim, cool your jets, that's just surface rust.
Remember, it's an SA, made from the same 10 gauge sheet metal they used on 1938 Chevy pick up trucks.

Exactly, that's what I was going to say, patina.
And it's even the same color as Tim's SA.
A complete bargain at $600, especially if you show up with $400 in green stuff.
A diamond in the rough, for sure.

lol, too bad i'm not kidding. sold my REPU to a customer and he left it all original

i hadn't heard anyone refer to my truck as having a patina before he put clear over it. haha
it's an acquired taste but it grew on many of us, at the shows he sais he can't get people to keep their hands off of it. sleeperish, it's got a fully bridged turbo blowthrough holley setup with modified FC 5 speed.

Hey, don't get me wrong, patina is what I have all over my car and it does have some holes.
That car has nasty rust in all the wrong places. I expect it will basically fall apart once you get
into it. I'd offer about what the junkyard would give you and go from there $300.
Take that REPU, the clear over it really finishes it nice and it all looks good to me. I hope they
treated the rust before the clear so it doesn't bubble under it.

yep, it was treated. additionally half the cab has new steel, because it was a flintstones mobile on the floorboard when i sold it. being left under a tree for 23 years with the windows partially down will do that. the whole roof is covered in rust, not a speck of paint up there.
saw the truck regularly for the 2 years since until i moved and it held up well, no rust coming up and delaminating.

Lol you just missed the boat, I just sold it about 30min ago, and actually it was pretty solid just needed a small patch in the drivers floor the rest was real solid.
I wonder what ever happened to Crit and Billy's REPU's?
Those were both good looking projects, but I guess they never got done.
Marriage will do that to you.

I'd get the stink eye from everyone if I ended up with a repu.... I'd toss OB motors covered with saltwater in the bed... there would be a permeant layer of dirt and leaves in the bed. Rust holes would get plywood nailed over them. Another words, I'd treat it like a truck. Just like if I had an RX3 it would haul groceries.
my plan for that repu was to pick up engines, but i just didn't wind up having the time to repair the rot inside the cab.
regardless of how it looks, the new owner uses it for the same purpose i was going to, as he has an R100 and RX4. they're all either bridged or PP, heh.
