The wheelbearings aren't too bad on the FC as long as you have a press, likewise for the lug studs, ARP 2 1/2 inch studs are part number 100-7708, 3 1/4 inch ARP studs are part number 100-7713, I went with 3 1/4 all the way around there's only a slight poke on the stock FC rims

I already purchased the 2 1/2" but I've been debating about if I can restake the axle nut in a different location or if it is REQUIRED I replace it.

I'm a firm believer in replacing any TTY bolt especially a pinch bolt, 2 for under $10 you can't go wrong, I have a few old sets they are all yours if you want them

The wheel bearings are not expensive, but changing them out is a fair amount of work, so you should be sure that's the problem, not a brake issue or something else.

I would live with it for awhile. A lot of FBs, especially the 84/85 models, came with the automatic fix it option. Chances are good the noise will just go away after awhile.

And if it really is a wheel bearing, the only damage being done is to your ear drums, so if your hearing is still good you could just ignore it.

On the other hand, if it's the brakes, you really need to diagnose and fix it.

Hope this helps!

Thanks
Ray
Thanks Ray! I wasn't sure if it was something to really worry about. I'll be back in Lawrenceville in a few days so I'll jack it up and check for wobble then. I'm mostly just annoyed as of late, my car has been running and driving great but in the past few weeks I've been hearing popping from driver-front and now driver-back. I guess this is a better excuse than any to replace all the old rubber lol. Maybe I'll have everything together by next meet, first Thursday in June right?

I reused them and had no ill effects for 20K+ miles. But if they're as cheap as Bad SVT says, I'd replace for peace of mind.

Thanks you two for the info! Ill probably just go thru it and do it the right way, the first time. That's how I like it. DTSS, bearings, seals, nuts, all of it.

^ nice. I have two FC that needs a little loving if you want to add to the collection.

1 is a blue S4, it will need an engine and has body kit molded to it. Asking $700
1 is a white S4 and will need engine and trans. Asking $700

Would sell both cars as a package for $1000

Both cars have relatively strait bodies.

PM me your cell and i can send some pics if interested.
