Can I be the Emperor?

Hey Ray, the mountain run was in Gorges State park on 3-22-08... and I was in the black FD then... the one that stayed rotary!
The thread...

Yep, I remember admiring your FD on the Mountain Top, totally impressed with it's rotary supremacy.
Then you started to tell me about another FD you had that you were going to put a boinger in.
A V8.
Other than that, it was a pretty good trip.

OGTA!
I have yet another favor to ask of you. I bought Juno's RX4, and it's currently sitting at her mother's house in Georgia. I'm currently in Guam, and have no way of picking it up until I can get back. Well, her mom wants it gone, so does anyone have some spare land they can spare to hold on to my little project until I get back? It'll be early next year. Very early next year. I can't give out more detail on when I'll be back.
Thanks guys,
Kevin (Quad)

Quad. You need to come on home ole buddy, stop roaming the globe.
Get back into the groove of things. RX4's are always welcome at the OGTA meetings, as you know.
And the waitresses aren't bad either
If you want to park it here in Jefferson, the Rotary Vortex of the World, that will be fine by me and Cathy might not even mind either.

And anywhere works for me Ray. I'd greatly appreciate it. I knew one of you guys could pull through. I don't know how it would be arranged to get the 4 over there, but I can pay you some gas money/trailer rental fee if need be.
And trust me, as soon as I get it running, OGTA meetings are only 8 hours away from Gulfport, MS where I'm stationed when I'm not on deployment. I'll be there as often as I can, military allowing.
Thanks again,
Quad
P.S. Ray- Check your inbox.

Hi all,
My name is Mike and I've been an absentee member for a couple of years now, in fact I think i've only been to one meet. I know this is not the correct forum for this, but I'd really like to see her go to a good home. My wife and I need to sell our '86 GXL. I'd really like to see it stay in the rotary family so if someone is interested please contact me @ mkldvdjxn@yahoo.com.
Thank you for your time, and I have truly enjoyed reading all the wonderful stories posted to this thread.

I know this is off topic. Please indulge me.

Today the rotary community lost a great backer.
She would not ride in my RX-7. She would not attend a rotary gathering; unless it was at Cathy Green's house (Ray's attendance was optional). She reminded me periodically that the RX-7 would not keep me warm at night.
She would send me to the garage when I needed some RX-7 time. She encouraged me to go to OGTA meets and other rotary gatherings. She did not complain (much) when parts would show up, with no warning, at the door. She only occasionally reminded me I spent more on upgrades and performance parts than I paid for the car.
Today I lost my wife Michelle to cancer. She will be profoundly missed. Thank you for 36 wonderful years.

Mike, I'm so sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and the family. I never had the pleasure to meet Michelle, but I thank her for supporting your love of the rotary. Let us know if there is anything we can do for you.

Very sorry for your loss. My wife's input (complaints) is just as much a part of the rotary experience as attending meets etc. It takes a special lady to put up with us in the way we get around others who share our fixation and it sounds like you had that in your significant other...cherish that experience. Dont hesitate to call on any of us if ever there is a need during this difficult time. Colin

Mike, my heart breaks for you and your family. Michelle was a wonderful and caring woman. I guess God thought he needed her there more than here. She is now a bright star in the sky looking down to watch over you. I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Mike, this is the saddest news. I'm so sorry and my condolences to you and your family.
I'll always remember Michelle as the lively, fun, bubbly girl I met at Rays BBQ way back when.
She will be missed.

Mike,
I really hate to hear this. I know I am an elusive rotorhead, but you have my number and if you need anything just let me know.
Blue skies bud.

mike, i've gone through the same thing with my mother battling cancer and even witnessed her taking her last breath. all i can say from my experience with this terrible disease is that my mother looked relaxed finally. i would not wish cancer on my worst enemy so know that she is in a better place now.
