There will be plenty of time for swimming and cooking out in August no need to change the 5th anniversary meet into that. Right?

Zach, your not going to get anyof these old guys to "that" side of town, let alone west Georgia. Remember, these are old guys, set in their ways, but still good rotorheads. Of the people who have responded the best chance you have of getting anyone over to the lake near AL is Robert. It's a 2.5 hour drive there, and from the I-85N side we could drive to deals gap in that time and drop a tube in the Nantahala river. But that has never happened either. I'm amazed we took the drive to Tallulah Gorge a few years ago. By now we should have all driven up to SC or AL to meet up with the rotorheads who travel to our meets.

Also, until the OGTA meetings all the rotorheads regularly met on your side of town, most always in Marietta, EVERY Thursday. Kristy, Jeremy and I always traveled that way, as that was where the majority lived.

Here's the best suggestion I have; pick a different date than the 1st Tuesday of the month for a meeting on your side of town and meet with at least one other person regularly. Then we can go to both meetings and visit one or the other. What about somewhere in Alpharetta, Roswell, Marietta? There are several rotorheads in that area that you could probably get something going. Start an Old Guys chapter west of 400. I would probably go to both and have dual membership.

If we set up a mountain drive/meet for a Saturday in North GA or NC or TN it would be somewhat centrally located for AL, TN, GA, NC, SC. Maybe we could get a few more rotor heads from the SE to join us. Robert is already down with the idea. There are some great parks up there that we could meet at.

I'll look around and see if I can come up with a proposed meeting place.

You TN guys have a place you could recommend close to the NC border?

For the ATL guys we could still keep the official first Tuesday meet.

Oh. This makes 5 ten rotors in a row.

Sounds like a plan Mike.

And Holly, I really wasn't meeting regularly with you guys when you met in Marietta. I remember going to 1 dyno day.

If Donnie is thinking of coming out, we might need to step up our game and make the 5th anniversary meet something special. Maybe a Saturday meet. What do you guys think? Maybe we could do something at Fort Yargo or Lake Lanier or a mountain ride to a state park up there.
I'm thinking Jefferson BBQ on a Saturday.

We could do that, if it is the will of the Central Committee.

Sure are a lot of 10 Rotors on this page. John, how do you qualify for that "Dual Rotor" status anyway? If Doc were still around you'd be getting an infraction notice.

How 'bout Saturday, August 4th?

I need to clean out the parts shed and Cathy loves to cook.

Kind of a replay of the December 8 2007 meeting.

Take heart Zach, folks seldom heed the words of wise men.

Remember what Confucius said: "I'm always right, but nobody ever listens".

I hate to sound like a Conservative, but probably the greatest wisdom is to do nothing at all and leave the August 7, 2012 meeting as originally scheduled.

In the parking lot at Twisted Kilt, with the Business Meeting attended by scantily clad waitresses.

We could then do a weekend meeting in Jefferson later in the fall, when the weather is cooler and the social calendar isn't so busy.

Hi guys. After a 20 year hiatus, I have another RX-7. One before kids (an 83 GS that I owned from 1987 - 1990) and now one when their off at college. I recently purchased a 79 SA build 8/78. I hope to be able to catch up with you all in August, hopefully with the SA. The brake are giving me trouble and I'm not comfortable with working on those myself.

Wow, very nice car indeed. And to top it off it's an early vintage SA in excellent condition. Fantastic find, hope to see you (and the car) in August!

PS Tym, you mentioned you wanted to have the stock look (with Waffle's, like S.C. Tim's Silver SA).

Here's a set that might work:

Ray, Wish I had saw those before I bought the '81 oem alloy wheels. I like the set I got, but would have preferred waffles. Only waffle set I found was much more expensive and needed reconditioning. Too many other things to spend $ on right now to buy another set of wheels. I need brakes, struts, shocks, and may want to find some to upgrade the SA to electronic ignition. Thanks for pointing me where to look on the site. Still finding my way around. Tim.

Are the '81 alloy wheels X wheels, or did they have a different style that year?

I have a pair of front struts you can have (or maybe partial trade for those konig's?). They're from an 85 GSL, not sure if they would plug into the SA frame (anybody know?).

They're in good shape, with stock shocks that work fine and a good pair of front rotors (no wear, but may need turning to remove surface rust).

If the ignition update requires an 84/85 distributor, I can help out there too.

I'm looking forward to seeing that SA, it's a twin to S.C. Tim's 1980 SA.

Except under the hood. S.C. Tim has some GM and Ford parts under the hood and a sexy Italian carburetor. And he has waffles.

Tym, nice looking SA. Look forward to seeing it out at the August meet. Bring it out even if you don't have the brakes sorted out yet (as long as you can stop). Many a problem has been solved in the parking lot at OGTA meetings. And this time of year we don't even need flashlights.

Ray, now I know why you never made it up to visit Tim. He lives in NC not SC. I guess you have been going to the wrong state all this time.
