Roland, do you really believe anything published by "Cambridge PR Group"?
"Mazda RX-8 and Its Rotary Engine Approach a Curtain Call"
"Sports Car Ceases Production as New SKYACTIV Engines Arrive"
--- by Cambridge PR Group
Dude, these guys are from Massachusetts. They are a PR group. Do you really think they can be trusted?
What they're trying to do is sell you brand new Mazda cars with cheap aluminum engines and a fancy new name for lots of money.
And you're going to believe these Yankees???
Mazda didn't kill the rotary engine, because the rotary engine isn't dead.
In fact, as is well known, 12A's never die. They just keep going round and round, cruising down that Endless Highway.
And the new boys on the block, Renesis engines, they're just coming into their own. Getting out of those 4 door family cars and finding new homes in REPU's and stuff.
Complete with real carbs.
Now that's cool.
The Rotary Era is just beginning!
In fact, you will see, there will always be rotary engines.
Many will be parked in the Jeffries parking lot (now called Twisted Sister's, but that will change too) long after Mazda SKYWALKER boingers have been recycled into beer cans.
And most of us OGTA's will be wearing our 20 rotor pins.

Ray, I'm callin' you out dude! Are you coming out to do the B3R or not?
I need to know because I have some really nice brews, like a smokey porter and a really nice
dry dark stout. Also I have a new mod on my 12A that you can only see if you come out to the
B3R.
Be there or be square.

Ray, go to Google news or web and type in Mazda Rotary Engine end of production and you will see grasshopper.
I didn't say that the Rotary community would die off. Basically Mazda is stopping production. I know alot of groups and people talk crap.
If this in fact does happen someone like Billy with CAD skills will start producing parts and keep them alive.
I know a source that is already starting the re-chroming process to fix damaged rotor housings.
It is possible that the Rotary engine may come back around 2017.

And everybody knows that hand built rotaries are far superior to factory built units.
You watch. I hear Billy is working on a design that will run on compressed air generated by a pebble bed fusion reactor.
Here's a proto type. Notice the little rotor filament that's at the heart of the fusion chamber.

But like the stuff coming out of Mazda these days, this is all just hear say and rumor.
So I took your advice Roland and googled "Mazda Rotary Engine end of production" and here's what appeared at the top of the list. From Fox News, so it has to be true:

Mazda has even tweeted to confirm rotary development. The RX-8 is dead and wasn't the best ambassador of the rotary, so maybe the next go around will be a return to the glory days.

I understand if the car isn't up to the drive. I know you only drive it about an hour
at a time because its just not reliable enough, but take a chance a see what it
can do. It may just make the whole trip with out problems.
Next weekend is better than this weekend, which is impossible.
AJC, CNN, NYT, NBC, ABC, CBS, NPR, it's all the same Lame Stream Media, you should know that Greg
The Wankel is just warming up, the best is yet to come.

Ray, my FC's engine bay is still filled with so much unnecessary equipment that I'm sure we could keep your FB going through the mountains and back home. Come on, you know you get excited when you think about the mountain roads...
On another note, check out this nice GSL-SE: http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/cto/2648370208.html

I got the new FC running today...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zepF3CBDGfM
The wiring harness was hacked all to hell, connectors were switched around, vacuum lines were hooked up wrong (2 ports that were supposed to get vacuum pulled on them were hooked together...). I pulled the intake and went over the harness using my other 2 FC's as references. I had to splice in 3 connectors and remove a few feet of wiring that the PO had put in. I'm clueless as to what the screaming noise is, and I'm sure that I have a few vacuum leaks to find. But at least I got it to run, that's an accomplishment in my book.
Also, the exhaust is missing from the 2nd precat back.

You're right Gene. I recognize that field mice screem from when Ray and I fired up the Blue One. Good work Brett.
What else came with the new project Gene? Motor? Interior? Is it going to make it out to an OGTA meet soon?
Sorry, but I have to back out B3R, again. Michelle needs me home this weekend. Next year hopefully.

Man those things stunk and I hated to hear the little squeaks. They were happy critters till Mike came along.
I'm with Mike this year on B3R, I promise I'm gonna go next year.
I have to teach lipid synthesis on Wednesday, nitrogen metabolism on Friday and nucleic acids on Monday. A weekend in the mountains might displace my brain.
How's you guys Wankels working? The Silver One has been an absolute pleasure lately. Even the Corvettes get envious when they see me solving the riddle of Atlanta traffic.
You gonna paint it blue Gene? (get it, blue jean? Oh never mind)

My FC seemed like it enjoyed the drive home from my 5:30-8:20 class this evening. I've been taking the curvy way to school for the past week or so
