I am going with my pops to the caffeine and octane meet/show on Sunday. Taking the '67 Bronco. Any of you ATL peeps want to join? Brave the cold! I am wearing layers and long johns.

It's at the East Cobb avenue and begins at about 8am. I have never been to one of these before, so it should be fun.

Ray, you're getting no spark when you pull the plugs or wires and ground them to the block? If so, I'd start with the ignitors.

Sounds like fun Zach, have some for me.

Crit it seems to be a battery or starter problem, all I get is a click when I turn the key, engine doesn't even begin to turn over. I thought I might have just accidentally run the battery down or had a bad battery connection, but redoing the connections and charging didn't help.

So I need to take a look a the starter connections themselves, maybe it's a bad solenoid. Nothing serious I'm sure, just a nuisance in this cold weather. I sure wish I had a garage!

Ray, almost sounds like my problem, except mine always ends up starting. Just get the click, nothing happens. Try it a few more times, it'll eventually fire. Mine is obviously the starter solenoid, but since it always ends up working, I've just never cared. Try hitting the starter with something.

Good idea Tim, I'll go out and give it a whack later this morning. I like problems you can fix with a hammer.

Carlton, sorry to hear you are giving up on the 7, but it will be great to see you and it one last time next Tuesday. It does take a special kind of man to drive an FB.

Alex, you and your mom going to make it down this month?

Zach, that Bronco is just plain totally cool

^ lol, how reassuring.

I went to that junkyard yesterday and only found 1 FC. It didn't really suprise me that there was only one, you know how old guys can be with identifying cars

There were 2 SA's, one in decent shape body wise but completely stripped. The other was all beaten up. One FB was in decent shape and had a motor in it, but it had no windows so the interior was shot, and the intake was off of the motor and leaves were in everything, so...

The FC was in about the same shape. No windows, motor, front clip, rear end, anything.

It was cool to find the place though. It's in Winder and is called Collin's. Very, very redneck thought, FYI.

All those Collin's that spell their name with two L's are rednecks. Nice find Brett!

You guys ever watch that Bitchin' Kitchen show? She's really good.

I'm not quite giving up on the Fb ray. unfortunately, family things have come up, and my mom is more or less forcing me to sell it and buy something newer. She'd rather i make payments on a new car, than waste money "modifying" and fixing a car older than I am.

This along with demands to go back to school, and find a part time job and pay rent, or move out of her house... have given me the foresight that its easier to deal with her demands now, than be homeless in January when i haven't found a job or apartment.

so i decided to give in. FML FML FML FML FML.

i'll get another FB or FD later in life after im on my own or something.

Nice pics Zach, thanks for posting!

And more good stuff from Greg the Younger, he sent it to my email by mistake. It's the 2011 Miss TSA Calendar:

Here you go, Ray: http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/cto/2100181636.html

The meet was fun even though it was only 9 or so people. I decided that I'm taking 985 even if I'm close to Exit 14 on 400. It took me an hour to get there from Dawsonville, and only 45 mins to get home, which is farther than Dawsonville. Hwy 20/ Suwanee Dam traffic

Looks like I missed another good one!

I started the day around noontime, under the Silver One, whacking on the starter. After that didn't work, I noticed that the battery connection was loose because the nut was starting to back off. Problem solved.

Of course since I already had the car up on blocks I used the opportunity to degrease and clean the whole area before renewing both connections to the starter. Then I washed the whole car and vacuumed the interior.

It was 3:00 by then and I thought about hoofing it into Atlanta but with all this cold weather I had other priorities, like getting some insulation in the ceiling over our living area to keep at least some of the heat in the house over the next few days. So I enjoyed a rare blissful day of not leaving my driveway.

The Good News: The Silver One should be good to go for another 6 months, including the 01-04-11 OGTA meeting! Hope it warms up by then.

Mike I can bring that window lifter in on Thursday if that works for you.

Brett I'm looking for a white SE, with a mint red leather interior, please let me know if you see one of those. Thanks!
