"The REPU and I burned another OGTA card today. I ran across an 82 or 83 GSL with SE suspension in Suwanee. Hopefully he pipes up."
Hey Crit, was that a black 83 GSL? If so, it might be Dean, the guy that lives just down the street from me here in Jefferson and commutes into work on Jimmy Carter. I saw him out on I85 this morning at 5:30 am heading into work and he emailed later, mentioning that some "young guy" had hit him up with an OGTA card. If it wasn't you, who put the OGTA card on the black '83 GSL?
Dean says he's planning on making the April meet Tuesday after next, we are going to caravan up to Suwanee from Jimmy Carter, meeting up around 5:30-6:00 on JC someplace. Anybody want to join us?
So dudes, we are knocking down landmarks like they were cones, we now have over 300,000 views and are on page 400 and only 19 posts away from having 10,000 posts, which I don't think has ever been done before on the RX7club.com site. Whose gonna' get number 10,000?
On a technical note, I just had the first problem with the Silver One since putting her on the road last August, 12,000 miles ago. On my way back from a meeting down in Henry County this afternoon my wipers started slowing down (in the rain, of course) and despite my nursing they eventually quit, still raining and about 30 minutes from home. The only thing you can do in that situation is drive fast enough to blow the rain off and don't get behind trucks. It was an interesting ride home but I made it, so I'll be checking it out tomorrow.

Now that RX7doctor has been demoted, I imagine that Kent is our best bet to find out what the record for biggest thread is. It may well be the original BAW threads in the lounge.

It would be good to see you Kevin, if you make it down in a rotary we'll have to hold a special meeting in your honor. Or you can buy back Dirty Red (I hear they are fixing her up for you) we could be one big happy family again.
So if you carded a silver car Crit and he shows up at the April meeting, that means there will be at least three new FB's (your silver car, Dean's pretty black 83 GSL and The Blue One, all with 12A's). So us FB's might have a shot of reestablishing our dominance and former glory. That'd be good too.
Michael I do have one spare wiper assembly left and it will go into the Silver One today if I can't figure out why the one in there now seized up yesterday. Kind of scary not having a wiper assembly back up though, I need to start looking for a new GSL.
Doc's gone? True, he could be a conceited pain-in-the-*** sometimes and he messed up a lot of really good posts because the humor was either beyond his California sensibilities or intelligence, but I'm going to miss giving him a hard time. Sorry to see him go.
15 more posts and they are going to have to widen the column. (Doc would make us start over again).
I've seen pictures of these before but I thought they were mythical creatures, don't really exist. Marco are you saying there is actually one here in Georgia?

The internet is smart, the column will widen on its own when we hit the number.

Forgive me FB-Ray, but I put some OGTA cards on a nice, red FC in the Publix parking lot at Five Forks and Sugarloaf in L'ville a few weeks ago. It had a chrome license plate frame from some performance shop in Los Angeles.

Some may not agree with how Doc did things, but I will tell you that Doc did a lot of work that most never see. He has put in thousands of hours of his own time trying to make the place better (especially in the Classifieds..busting scammers and dead beat sellers). It is going to be difficult to fill that void.
For the thread with the most hits/replies, that would probably the original BAW thread in the lounge. The one there from 2007 (before making a new one every month) shows 450k views and over 100k replies (we have a ways to go to catch up to that number ). The columns will adjust automatically to fit the number, so there is no problem there.

Holly - the 3 is almost done, hopefully shooting paint today or tomorrow, crossing my fingers
Crit - no worries, glad to learn something new everyday.
Ray - yes, the engine is in Ga. Actually it was in my friends shop, and I snapped a picture of it myself. I think it is for sale, well everything is for sale if the price is right.

I agree Kent, Doc did an endless amount of work and he was a real asset for keeping some kind of order on the forum (even though he did delete dozens of my posts). I even agreed with him most of the time. Cheers to the Old Dude, I hope he's enjoying his new found freedom!
7 more posts to go to reach 10,000, the suspense is killing me, whose gonna' get it?
PS, what's a "BAW" thread? With a 1 to 4.5 replies to views ratio it sounds like it's mostly a place for habitual posters who don't have a life (like me?)

So I've got a bit of bad news old guys. Wankel, my awesome cat, passed away today. He had a really bad reaction to a flea treatment I gave him yesterday and possibly reached it where I applied it on his neck. Or it was so harsh, it got through his skin into his bloodstream. He had a rough night and I missed class and took him to the vet this morning, then a few hours and two phone calls later he was going downhill and they wanted me to come see him before he passed away. I buried at him at Dawsonville's rotary capitol, my uncles house. He's going to be missed, not crawling into all the car's I've worked on.
Rest in peace Wankel, May 10, 2006 - March 26, 2010.
