Panama City is all Pink and Yellow, with lots of Neon. Go figure.
Tim, I hate electrical too, that's why I try to keep back ups of those things, but I checked the shed and I'm down to my last wiper assembly. Now Mike might have a good wiper assembly, since he's parting out the Gray Ghost, I don't know.
Mike, I know cup holders have a mini-van feel to them, but some of us OGTA's, the older ones, kind of like to have a few luxuries in life. My cup holder is part of me, holds my coffee and spare ignitors and even some spare change once in awhile, all the stuff that comes in handy. Try it, you might like it.
Congrats on the 2 sale Crit, does that mean OGTA has a new REPU?

I need to put out an APB on Kristy, someone wants to know how you can get one of those PrePro's on the OSJC/OGTA thread under the nontech section:
https://www.rx7club.com/1st-gen-general-discussion-207/photos-our-recent-osjc-ogta-meet-891074/
Could someone who knows where she is ask her to check it out and tell these guys all about her car?

Progress on the FC:
Now to just unbolt the tranny, ps and a/c, oil cooler lines, and motor mounts, and it'll be ready to pull out. With this pace, maybe I'll be done before this year's ZoomFest
And remember how I mentioned all that about cleaning Jim Albert's convertible's fuel injectors? I got the car last night, depressurized the fuel system tonight to check and see if no pressure on the injectors will help cut back on the flooding, and will have the injectors cleaned Friday/ Saturday if they're in fact the culprit. I found a local place in Cumming called the Injector Connection. They do the exact same as WitchHunter, but it won't take as long and it's a good $30 cheaper.
If anyone's interested in them, they're at: http://fuelinjectorconnection.com/shop/index.php

Checking in
Kristy -- glad you got the pre-production (enjoy)
Billy -- Zoomfest 2010??? Get the RX8 - I bought a 2007 RX8 Stormy Blue Mica with 3,100 miles on it. Now my DD and future track toy.
SCCA PDX 3/21/10 - I am signed up for C class (with the 7) I added the RB Cat Back exhaust and love it!! - any other takers?? Not overly crowded if the list is updated as it appears.
Was going to stop by at the last OGTA but the weather was badddd.
Dave -- Any PDX events planned this year???
Miss you guys and hope to see you soon. Too much work and only a little play

That one's worth repeating Brett, nice find!
When you put the FC back together are you going to use the OGTA gang car-in-a-weekend method or my do-it-once, do-it-right-even-if-it-takes-all-summer method?
Alan, congrats on the 8! Hope you can find time to tool on over to the April OGTA meet so we can google it.

Fuel System Update
I learned a little more about the fuel system on the Blue One.
1) Leaving the vent line open between the check valve and the hard line seems to have resovled the fuel tank pressure issue. Now I need to figure where the block is in the hard line. I am also leaving the gas cap off during testing to eliminate this as an issue.
2) I confirmed, for the 3rd time, that the fuel pump is putting out 1400+ cc/min through the glass filter right before the carb.
3) The pressure in the fuel line with everything hooked up and a pressure guage in place of the glass fuel filter is 2.5 psi. If I take the carb out (loop the inbound fuel line to the return line) the pressure drops to around 1 psi.
Next thing to try.
1) I am going to swap the fuel return line with the Mazda pressure/restrictor thing from the Gray Ghost to the Blue One.
The only thing I can think that is causing the pressure to be low is if the PO did something to the Mazda pressure/restrictor thing. Swapping the one from the Gray Ghost will either confirm this or elliminate this as a problem.
Anyone have any suggestions about why the fuel pressure is low? I have an other pump that I can swap in, but the pump in there was a known good pump when I put it in. I guess it could have gotten sick.

Finally! Progress on Brett's FC! Good job, Brett.
Replaced the fogs on the Maxima today. I must say, it's nice that they both light up now...and for $12.99, I can't complain.
Got a new Ricey toy to **** with on the FC. Looks like it'll be an interesting, but simple project.
Also, I think I'll risk frying my strobes and bypass the controller so I can simply switch them on or off.
Probably tackling the Alternator and Thermostat on Kristy's Pre-Prod mid-day Friday.
The question has been raised about her clutch hydraulics, however. When she got the car, the fluid was black as coffee.. To remedy this, I simply sucked every last drop of the old stuff out and then proceeded to flush it until only new fluid was coming into the vacuum jar.
Well, the fluid is black again. I suspect the inner bits of the factory hydraulic line are deteriorating and turning the fluid black. Thoughts?
I suppose the next project would be to replace the pulsation dampeners in both her pre-prod and Wanda. Mine is long over-due, and like hell if we'd let a pre-production FC burn over a poorly placed glorified fluidic shock absorber.
Side note on the Boinger scene, Maxine's throwing that code loud and proud, and I believe it's ******* with my power output. The engine does not pull as cleanly or as strongly as it did before the light came on. I should replace those o2 sensors (Frickin' three of 'em!), but at the same time... Wanda needs a parking brake that works. Ray is going to say I should play favorites.
That is all.

O2 sensors very rarely go bad, especially not this early. If they don't see crossing counts (rich vs. lean) then you get a few powertrain P-series codes that include the O2 sensors. It doesn't mean that they're bad. Autozone sells millions of those things to people that don't need them.

Yeah, I've fought that before, too. If your fuel pressure's low, then your O2 sensors always read lean, so they're working fine but still throwing a code. I wouldn't replace O2 sensors until everything else is pretty squared away.

Collin, MaxiPads have more lights than a Christmas tree. Fixing one of them won't help, as soon as you do, another one will come on and you'll just have to fix that, then another, then another. Then one day, they will all go out for no reason at all. I know, I had one about ten years ago, an electronic disaster that should have been a warning about the impending automotive age, but nobody listened.
Instead, everything built since the advent of fly-by-wire maxipads of the 1990's is a time bomb, an electronic glitch waiting to happen that could disable your brakes, take over your accelerator, even change your radio station without permission.
I'd fix the handbrake in the FC, or better yet start thinking about trading both in for a pre-electronic, 12A powered, Nikki fueled FB. Then you can be driving all the time instead of fixing all the time.
'Course that's just me.

Last night I swapped the return line from the Gray Ghost to the Blue One and I am still getting 2.5 psi.
I am headed out of town for the weekend. Next week I am going to move the inbound fuel line with the pressure guage to the Gray Ghost. This will give me a comparative number. Then, I guess I'll swap the fuel pump from the Gray Ghost into the blue and see what the pressure in the Blue One is then.
It is starting to look like I may need to have that emergency laying of hands at my house next weekend (3/20-21).

I'll bring my sacred incense Mike.
Let's see, would I rather have a Nissan or a Toyota? Hmmm......
Dave (and all you other guys waiting for me to send calendars) did you get yours yet? I mailed what I thought was all of them earlier this week.
