Yeah that's the place. Lots of room, near a lake, picnic and sheltered areas, pretty nice spot for a car get together.

Who knows, one of these might show up:

Old School, with a twist.

I like the Fort Yargo idea and I'd love to go to the Mitty, never made that before. What was that Mitty date again?

I'm definitely down for the Ft. Yargo meet on the 6th. That was very cool last year, though we got accused of blowing it up with FBs

I will be attending DGRRX again this year. I love driving those curves. Jeremy, Kevin (aka Trip) and Marco (has an old school rotary, now) are also going too. Crit are you going to join our early Friday morning caravan this year?

I may go and end up riding shotgun in a rotary. You may see it Tuesday night.

That depends entirely on the route. If we do the same roads going up, there's no way. The REPU doesn't do drives like that. At least not without losing a battery, or having the driver and passenger sliding back and forth on the bench.

You guys need to be careful with the Varsity meet. I heard someone awhile back got followed and lets just say they do not have their ride anymore!

I figured you would be in the FB for DGRR with the truck already pulled apart for paint?

Now that would be sweet. I've got 8 12-ga slugs that say I can get outside before you can start my REPU. Y'all should google Castle Doctrine.

One can hope. Even if I'm in the FB, that drive was hard without power steering. In any event, I'm sticking to the highways. If the caravan is too, then I'm in. If the caravan snakes its way up the curvy stuff, I may still go and just split off before it gets hairy.

I really loved Ft Yargo last time. It was cool to see all the old school Japanese cars. And, if I recall correctly, didn't Ray find a soul mate there? It was green and about 4 ft long. Ray I know you have a pic.

Unfortunately, I am not going to be able to get out there. But, anyone who is free on Sat should make the trip out. Really cool cars.

As for an all-ATL meet, I bet if we offered up location and a date on the other thread we could get this thing going. I don't want to be the one to make a suggestion. My schedule is very dependent on Michelle's treatments. But, if you guys got something going, I might get lucky and be able to attend.

I guess I am really not much help. I would just like to see what an all-ATL meet would look like.

Anyone Looking for a Motor?

http://charlotte.craigslist.org/pts/1617886303.html

I didn't look close, but I think this is a 12A. It is on a crate with a Mazda tag on it. I assume it is a Mazda reman for $800.

Take a look.

Hey, that widebody comment wasn't about the picture with me in it was it?

Oh, you are right Tim. This could be a really cool piece of rotary history.

Man, if thought I could get used to living out of my car after Michelle divorces me, I might offer the guy $800.

Mazda never produced twin dizzy 13Bs. That has a top mount starter so it is 1971-1972 12A.

Actually, it's a 70-72 12A thanks to the top-mount starter. 73 saw the transition to twin-dizzy bottom mount, and 74 saw the introduction of the 12B. Wait, did I say that?

There I go again.

Edit - Billy you suck.

One of the OGTAs needs to buy that motor. It doesn't even have to be installed in a car. We could roll it into the meetings and pay homage.

March 6th? Ft. Yargo? I may go to that...

Maxine's clutch isn't in great shape. I was going thru some service records and the transmission was rebuilt 50k ago, but it says nothing about replacing the clutch.

Normally, I would be pretty pissed and worried... but with having two cars again, pfffft! Who's got to worry? Wanda is in great shape to get me around when I need to fix Maxine...and vice versa.

Sad thing, though - I won't be able to get the crossmember off of the tranny with it still in the car, believe me, I've tried. So in order to change my tranny mounts, I'll have to drop the gearbox....AGAIN... at which point I'll prolly replace that throw out bearing too. And I don't think it smart to replace the motor mounts and still have shitty worn out tranny mounts..

Still in love with my big four door, though I wish it had a supercharged boost to go with that whine.... ugh

Do you think Maxine would be welcome at Ft. Yargo Collin? I think they are shooting for '85 or older. Maxine is kind of 90ish.

Wanda would be a better option for Ft Yargo, at least she wankels.

Speaking of which, if you only had one car, you'd only have half as many problems, right? So what's it gonna' be, Wanda or Maxine?
