Old guys with 12As club meeting
#9077
The person to the left in Chris' photo is the guy who owns the FC with the yellow hood, but I can't remember his name.
I talked with Roland again and we are a go on making our own 2010 OGTA calendar. It would be cool if individuals or groups would make specific photo contributions for different months, so I'll start a list (see below) of folks who want to do a month (or two or three - Chris??). Please sign up soon so we can get this done by the February meeting!
Our goal is to create a pdf electronic copy that will be freely distributed as well as work out a cost effective way to make a limited number of high quality printed copies.
Here's what we've got so far:
January 2010 - The OGTA Card (Ray)
February 2010 - The White One Under Snow (optional, if no one has a better winter shot - Ray)
March 2010 -
April 2010 - Crit's REPU shot of the "Rotary Power" Tailgate (Ray)
May 2010 -
June 2010 -
July 2010 - The White One at Zoomfest (Ray)
August 2010 -
September 2010 -
November 2010 -
December 2010 -
January 2011 -
I have plenty of photos to fill up the months that aren't taken!
When we get the Official 2010 OGTA calendars ready for production, they will be offered to all OGTA members at cost, which will depend on the production methods (I have a photo quality printer so this could just be paper and ink).
The first ten copies of Chris' 1st Gen Calendar were distributed last night, pretty much according to our list, although I don't think Donnie got one (because he came late) and Greg the Elder didn't show up. So Greg the Younger and Romulo got their copies.
So here's what I've got so far, please correct my errors:
1. Ray ($5.00 collected) - 1st gen calendar delivered
2. Holly ($5.00 collected) - 1st gen calendar delivered
3. Mike ($5.00 collected) - 1st gen calendar delivered
4. Billy ($5.00 collected) - 1st gen calendar delivered
5. Crit ($5.00 collected) - 1st gen calendar delivered
6. Greg the Elder
7. Chris ($5.00 collected) - 1st gen calendar delivered
8. Quad, who got Nightmare to show up ($5.00 collected) - 1st gen calendar delivered
9. Donnie - showed up too late
10. Troy ($5.00 collected) - 1st gen calendar delivered
11. Greg the Younger ($5.00 collected) - 1st gen calendar delivered
Wait list:
12. Michael ($5.00)
13. Colin - $5 collected for purchase of 1st gen calendar
14. Ben - $5 collected for purchase of 1st gen calendar
15. Romulo ($5.00 collected) - 1st gen calendar delivered
16. Ace (aka yayo, Kevin the Elder, etc; $5.00)
17. Roland ($5.00)
I collected about $65 (plus or minus $5.00) towards purchasing another batch of Chris' 1st gen calendars at $12 each plus $5.00 shipping for the batch, enough for 5 or 6 more calendars.
So let's start a new list of folks who did not get a 1st gen calendar last night who still want one (or another one):
1. Michael
2. Colin - $5 collected for purchase of 1st gen calendar
3. Ben - $5 collected for purchase of 1st gen calendar
4. Ace
5. Roland
6. Donnie?
7. Greg the Elder?
8. Others?
The cost per calendar for the next batch will be $5.00 each plus shipping for those who need it mailed. The cost for these calendars will be subsidized by the generous individual $5.00 donations that were contributed last night (thanks guys and gals!)
If we go beyond 6 more calendars I'll ask the folks at the bottom of the list to contribute $10 per calendar to keep up with the cost.
So if you want one of Chris' calendars check the list above and add your name if not there (or delete it if you don't want one).
That was a great meeting last night, a good way to kick off the New Year!

See? I knew you guys would dig the calendars! That is why I sent Ray an '09 version of the calendar a few months back.
If you make an OGTA one, electronic is probably the best option as it is expensive to get them printed in low numbers.
I already got a '10 version, but I paid full price.

Damn Ray, you should have let me know you would be coming to this meet I could have come down
Crit I may have to steal that REPU when you get it done. Lookin good.
Very impressive turnout OGTA and a great start for 2010.
Someone should take Chriss group photo and pencil in everyones name so we can see the name with the face.
Zach that bronco kicks ***. Big 4x4s can be very cool. I've been working on this one lately for my niece (89 Jeep Grand Wagoneer):

That's a nice photo Chris but I like the other one better, it puts the focus squarely on the "Rotary Power", it has Crit's really cool REPU license plate and the colors are accurate, highlighting that beautiful orange patina that Crit must have paid extra bucks for.
But there are lots of yours that I like and think would make excellent calendar photos, especially that one that Chris passed over for the 1st gen calendar (big mistake, in my opinion) that shows all the pretty multicolored hoods lined up:
I also think we should have this one in there, it really shows the generous and cooperative spirit of the OGTA folks:
So I'll add that one for March, to encourage folks to get out and work on their cars when the weather gets good again.

January 2010 - The OGTA Card (Ray)

Out of the 1,006 picture's I've saved from the OGTA meets (well, including ZF), I went through and thought these might be calendar worthy.
If I jacked your picture, sorry. I've got over 10,000 pictures on my computer, I'm obsessed
And to add on, my first day back wasn't too bad. This semester feels like it'll be a good bit harder than the last one...

Chris you got any shots of Billy's wide body for May?
Here's another thing we can do if we get too many photos for 12 months. We can have multiple photos for each month (2 or 3, say) that all will go into the pdf, then folks with the pdf can print out whatever they like. For the actual printed calendar that we do, we can do a poll to see which of the nominees most people like, then use that.
This one would make a great cover photo Brett:
And I'll nominate this one for the September slot:
And your other submissions are nice, they'd make great collage material, Kristie and Holly were talking about doing this for a month or two.
Here's what we've got so far:
January 2010 - The OGTA Card (Ray; this could be part of a collage)
February 2010 - The White One Under Snow (optional, if no one has a better winter shot - Ray)
March 2010 - OGTA crew putting the 13B in Chris' Sexy Pants II
April 2010 - Crit's REPU shot of the "Rotary Power" Tailgate (Ray, or Chris' version)
May 2010 - Billy's wide body
June 2010 - Blue SA (Roland)
July 2010 - The White One at Zoomfest (Ray)
August 2010 - Brown RX3 (Roland)
September 2010 - Brett's diagonal shot
October 2010 -
November 2010 -
December 2010 -

That RX-3 a nice looking car. Maybe we could have an Old School Month, with a collage of Billy's RX-3, Crit's REPU and Jeremy's RX-3?
I'll suggest we use October for Old School Month:
Here's what we've got so far:
January 2010 - The OGTA Card (Ray; this could be part of a collage)
February 2010 - The White One Under Snow (optional, if no one has a better winter shot - Ray)

July 2010 - The White One at Zoomfest (Ray)
August 2010 - Brown RX3 (Roland)
September 2010 - Brett's diagonal shot
October 2010 - Old School Month
November 2010 - Chris' hoods?
December 2010 -
January 2011 -
Also, I found a wide body shot:

I've actually got an edited version of that photo, without the dent in Colin's fender and with color enhancing and all that good junk.
Ray, you should put add to the list '2010 Calendar Cover - OGTA sign for ZoomFest' so I feel accomplished
And IMO, Jeremy's FD deserves a spot too

With all these pictures, I think that collage idea for a few months might be beneficial
