Le Gasp! The FC is more powerful, more luxurious, better looking, and has a fancy Fuel Injection system! Carbs ftl!
The FB handles better, is spartan to the max, isn't the prettiest car in the world and has terrible brakes..
And yes, the FC is the fastest car in the entire world. I own Porsche's daily!
Clearly, this is a joke...
The FB has it's place, the FC has it's place. For daily driving, you can't beat the FB. Those things are damned near bulletproof! However, in terms of all around goodness...The FC in stock form (Assuming OEM suspension, bushings, mounts, etc) is pretty awesome. A few upgrades...well....we'll leave it there.
I love the OGTA, and I like the FB...but I'm an FC guy all the way. It *is* my absolute favorite car. Hence why after seven cars, I keep coming back to it.
There's an FB in Athens that me and Brett briefly stopped and conversed with (The driver, not the car). He's also got a Series 5 TII. Someone get me a pretty fancy card and I'll leave it under his wiper on my way home from work one of these days.
Ray: Have you spoken with your neighbor yet?
Crit: Sorry about calling you while at work earlier, I didn't realize.
Stu: How's the hand?
Donny: Do I even know you?
Brett: Stop it.
Mike: I keep forgetting who you are. lol
Holly: It was nice meeting you at the meet!
To all: I am trying to convince a good friend of mine to come to the next Tuesday meet. She will be driving a '65 Falcon Ranchero that is fully restored. Four on the floor, and man can she drive that thing! Once you meet her, you will be shocked that such a girl would be driving a truck like that. It's freakin' sweet!
Brett and I slapped my S5 'vert tails on Grace a few days ago. Well...Brett kind of just stood there and watched, and was the recipient of some hardcore bitching from me...but I give him credit anyways. They look pretty good! But, I will need to slap some shims on the lower part of the center piece, as it's not quite right. Then again, I did snap off the stock mounting clips (on purpose) and just used the center piece screw and the license plate bolts to attach the piece. I think I'll be using some double sided 3M trim tape to 'shim' it up to flush. I'd give you guys some pics, but my car looks like *** in photos and I haven't waxed it since before the meet. Needless to say, it needs it AGAIN! Flippin' red...I hate it.

Doin good. Need to get to the DR's to see if I will have full movement. The guys I went to with Ray were great, but since I was bleeding liek a stuck pig I didnt want to move my thumb at all for the tendon testings.

Hey Collin, don't think we're actively dissing on FCs. They're not worth 1/2 a point because they're crap.
The whole OGTA group is about keeping the old cars together with finicky carbs and eccentric owners. FCs tend to actually start more often than not, so it's not seen as such a difficult accomplishment to get it to Jeffrey's every month. While FCs get modded and tuned, these are all optional services and don't count toward REAL downtime. The 12As take a little tweaking just to keep it moving, hence the point system. If my other Mazda ever makes it out, I'm told I get a bonus point only because it's particularly hard to get and keep running. Ditto for Billy's REPU, but we'll both never REALLY get them running. They're really just placeholders that allow us to squat in the basement so our wives don't take over.

Crit,
You might want to take Ray up on his offer. He came by Monday, all he did was walk into the garage and I immediately saw the problem with the intake manifold. When he came by Tuesday we tried starting the car. With me trying to start it - no joy. Ray sits in the seat and cranks it and it starts. I think Ray is some kind of Rotary god. All he has to do is show up and these things start running.
Based on how tough he has been on FCs, I don't they will respond as well to Ray.
Thanks again Ray.
[QUOTE=ray green;7771327]Crit, I was over at Mike's today after work and got his going, you want me to stop by?

Ray, like anyone else really, is welcome to come by and help. Just realize that the SE's troubles are all EFI-related, so his lack of FC mojo might carryover.

Mike gives me too much credit, he had already done all the work, I just flipped the switch.
Crit, I don't really need to know about those SE gizmos to help.
I'll just lay hands on it and summon the rotary gods - it will start.
But just in case, I'll bring along a spare Nikki and we can send that EFI stuff to the recycler.
Crit, I have an idea, if you don't have it running by Feb 5, why don't we hold the meeting at your house so we can finally get to see that thing?? The SE plus your RX-2 will add 2.5 units to the 12A count.

Are you kidding, Crit? It'd be cool. We could all bring something...like someone could bring burgers, someone could bring buns, someone could bring a bag of chips or so and we could do a Grill out! And you can show off your car...you'd have a bunch of help trying to get the SE running...that sort of thing.
Who votes for having the next Tuesday meet at Crit's house?

HERE is the map from Jeffrey's. Google gets my address wrong, so I've put in a bogus address that puts you in the right spot.
