Thanks for the photos Brett, they are excellent.

Chad glad you are back safely, what an adventure. I'm beginning half the fun of these meetings is getting there.

Collin, no more bitching about gas mileage, you are doing better than me.

Oh, well simple...buy an FC and save money!

No, but really, my gas mileage isn't great. 21mpg is pretty freakin' terrible! However, there's nothing like doing four grand in third, holding a steady speed and then just giving it the beans... mm mmm good....-shiver- Having driven my Jetta for the two days prior, the punch (If you can call 146bhp punch) surprised me. Then reality sunk in when the posted speed limit glared at me from the side of the road, and I eased off back to 80mph.

Stu: WTF? I'm told you're the crazy one from the carolinas that ventures down to almost every Tuesday meet? What'd you make a wrong turn?

Yes, the funny thing about getting pulled over is that people were passing us doing 80 when he was talking to me.
When I got let go and back on the highway I felt like I was in a Yugo as people were flying past me (me at 65-70 with cop behind me). O'well, I truly think he just wanted to see the car up close. Hehe

Atlanta police are like that, they know they can't pull all the speeders over so they just pick one that looks interesting. The only ticket I've gotten, about 4 years ago, was 81 in a 55 on I85 (really a 65 mph zone, but they keep changing it back and forth).

I got picked out because I was separated a bit from the pack and they could get a gun on me, but the other cars were going faster. I'm glad you got a happy ending, it cost me about $120.

Still, given the number of miles I put on the Atlanta area interstates, I can't complain.

Haha, crazy? I can work with that! Lol, yes I do make the meets quite often. I don't remember how many I have been to so far... I think 3 or 4? I remember I rode down there the first time after I first got the car running. Nothing like a 400 mile test drive to see if everything works! Last time it was the saturday (or sunday?) meet, and somehow we got a whole carolina caravan crew to come down. 2 of my good friends in Statesville, and a guy in SC all teamed up and drove down together. It was funny watching people look out their cars at us as 4 Rx7's wizzed by. Or Mmmmm'd by. Whichever. Love the trip, love the people, so it is always worth it

Just sent the gaskets to Billy. He should have them Fri/Sat. Donnie: Billy can get the OMP gasket to you once he gets it.

Any other thoughts/comments on the OGTA business cards? Is there one in particular that you guys like?

ehh... I debated whether to post this or not for a while, but what the heck. I liked the idea of business cards for the club and all, and since I'm out of school tomorrow I decided to use my free time to doodle one up in paint. Nothing special, just another version of Holly's...

And dont flame too much, I just did that in like 10 mins. And that probably isn't the correct size.

And who else around here is getting this snow and sleet?

Ray, the count is CORRECT. And I would hope it is correct, as it is YOUR counting system But you were probably testing me to see if I learned it.

Ray, I have that one pic I took. When Kristy sends me the pic off of her camera, I will upload it here.

It was good to see Chad again, I didn't think I would see him for another couple of months, at DGRR.

Good to meet the new guys, Brett and Collin. New to me anyway. And it was good to see the regulars. (3rd gen regulars too)

Ray, Jeremy still has a 3rd gen, it just hasn't been on the road for 2 years. It sure will be sweet, once he gets it back together.

I think I may be able to get an old guy with a 12A to our meets, at least once in the next couple of months. I spoke to Rick Engman (Mazda Engine Builder for Jim Downing) today and invited him to drive his 12A out to meet us. He said to remind him when the meetings come up and he will try to make it out. Chad knows about his engine building.

Kent we did have long and heated discussions about the various card designs that were submitted, but it was a preview of the Republican convention, lots of candidates but major flaws found in each (although I still don't understand the complaints about my design).

With the convention deadlocked, we will probably have to take a look at some independent contributions. Brett's is good, but it reads a little like a Seventh Day Adventist pamphlet.

But fear not! Holly, our secretive secretary and wise beyond all of our years, has taken our names, phone numbers, email addresses, social security numbers and credit card information and has assured us that she can fit all this good stuff onto a business card design of her choice, in a secure environment. She says she has a microsoft program specially designed for this purpose and will get back to us once the stuff is up on the net.

Holly, Brett and Collin are new to us too. In fact they are mere babes in the rotary world (but you did notice they are sporting new mustaches, didn't you?)

And yeah definitely get that Rick Engman guy to come, we can always use another engine builder in the group. And another 12A in the lot is even better!

Great turn out guys for a Tuesday night in January!

This from the I77 and I40 crossroads club:

"Hey guys, just wanted to let you know our cards have been ordered and will be here for the next meet. I got a crap load of them. I got 250 cards for $5.45, some website my wife uses sends her promo stuff all the time. After i ordered them i saw a few things wrong in the text but oh well. The word Sunday was not capitalized and i forgot to add the se section to the bottom of the card. I think if people are interested they will take time to go to the site and look around or show up every second Sunday. All that info is right on, i will hand them out next time"

Looks like we've got some competition on the cards, but they still are having trouble spelling "Sunday" and they haven't come up with a name for their group yet, so it looks like we have the edge on them.

You upload your own design and they print them. Pretty cheap, decent quality.

LOL! Brett doesn't like to shave because he's trying to grow SOMETHING! I just forgot. I was more worried about my car's appearance than my own, hence I hand waxed the thing a few days prior and wore a slightly stained shirt to the meet lol.

Unfortunately, the snow has been melting, so I am able to go to work. Joy. I was hoping Toyota would be closed for the day.

If we want to simplify Brett's card, then disregard my comment. If we want to get some specifics, I'd add that it's the first Tuesday of every month and that it's in Duluth (or Suwanee, or Lawrenceville, or something)

Ray, no more coffee for you today...

You took a shot at the Republican part, the Seventh Day Adventists, and several club members all in 10 minutes. I was laughing out loud reading your comments. There is no telling how much you might whip the Forum into a frenzy today.

I like all the designs we have. If we are voting I like the one with the trasparent 12A. But everyone tell Ray I voted for his design. He seems a little sensitive on this subject.

Now that you mention it Tim, I see you guys do have a name, "Rotary Crossroads", very cryptic! And that "X" logo represents our stock "X" wheels, right?

Just a couple notes on the text, "sunday" should be capitalized and it's grammatically incorrect to say "off of"; most English speakers would say "O'Charley's, just off I-77 Exit 36"

We Atlanta folk will be getting up that way one of these days, once we get our cards made.

We miss you Stu, come on down!

Mike, I'm glad you see it my way and are voting for the OG@TA design. Your vote and my vote thereby represents a majority, so it looks like we are going with:
