Did not turn out to well. I needed to sand blast it off. The powder bled and did not form a crisp line. It is already solid black (I thought that is what you wanted if not two tone) . PM me your address.
Drivers door is finally off. Good thing I picked up those NOS outer rockers a while back, I will need them. Will need to fab a new drivers side inner rocker. Also the hind area for the doors is all busted up. So......Not done yet but do have a head start.

"Good to see you didnt lose any fingers or eyebrows in the explosion!"
That was my former grad student, who left my lab about a year ago because "working on chromatin was too hard". This would never have happened in my lab! The word is that he will be OK, some glass cuts but hopefully the acid burns are minor.
And yeah Chris, you've got one year left 'till the repu obsession takes over your life (although like Stu says, an RX-3 will help quell the urge).

You'd look good in a REPU Holly! (Of course you'd look good in anything with a rotary in it!)
I got an email from Frank of the Silver SA, he asked me to post his questions and new project because he's having trouble doing it:
Hey Ray,
How is it going? I have tried countless times to post on the RX7 club thread but to no avail! Anyhow the next meeting is march 3rd right? I will be there! I also need some help with information from anyone in the crew that can help me with a list of things I will need to transplant a 13b gsl-se 6port into my SA! Yes I want to keep the fuel injection and I already have a complete running engine ecu and harness! Of course before I put it in I will go through the engine and replace anything that needs replacing! but as for making this happen with EFI I have no clue! I need to know if I will need the fuel tank from the gslse or can I just use the pickup from inside the tank and swap over to my tank? I have an external EFI fuel pump so thats no prob! Will I also need to by RB's front motor mount or will I be fine with the stock gslse front mount??? I also have 2 LSD rear ends one is a small spline 82 and the other is a big spline 83 but I have no idea of the internal ratios!! HELP!!!! So many questions!!! My SA screams for more power!!! Please pass this email to all the guys as I need all the information regarding this swap and all items I will need! Thanks Ray I appreciate it!
Frank!
Here's Frank and his SA at the Mazmart rotor fest in case you're not sure which rotor head he is:

Now the 79 tank will work but he will need an external gsl-se pump or an aftermarket one.
If he has the GSL-SE front cover, engine mount, and oil pan he will be ok.
As for wiring the GSL-SE electronics in, it was easy on a 85 12a. But on a 79 I am not sure.
The 79 did not have the computer in the floor board, and has alot more junk wiring than a 84-85 FB.
Both rear ends should be a 4:10 pattern. I would use the small bearing if he keeps the stock 79 front end to keep all the bearing easy to remember.
Now if he swaps out the front end to the large bearing spindles to use the RESPEED front TII big brake kit I would say use the other big bearing rear end.
If I was going to go thru all the work to put in a GSL-SE motor I would go ahead and upgrade to the S5 intakes and TB while I was at it.
Once Frank figures out the wiring then he can help me put in my S5 TII motor I have waiting to go in my 79 sa.
Ray, give frank my email.

I'm a bit further but will help with what I can.
