Old guys with 12As club meeting
#2532
So guess who just made $80 on some window switches, a S4 front bumper, an untested tranny, a fog light, and a drivers headlight motor? Me... Some guy saw my ad on craigslist and brought like 2 other friends with him and they got that stuff. And he called some other friend while he was here that wants a passenger door and the S5 LIM and UIM. So I'll have gas now to come to the next meet, if I'm off of work...
That looks pretty sweet The next thing should be to *paint that bumber*! lol. The FB looks good. I've seriously thought about getting an old junk one to play with after I sell the vert... I could be at the next OGTA meet if work permits- you should come so I can finally meet you . I've known you online for what, over 2 years? haha

I know I can do a search for a general answer to this question, but I'd like something a bit more specific - so I'm asking the OGTA crew....
If I was looking for the lightest 1st gen, in 100% OEM stock trim, 5-spd tranny, open diff, what model and year would that be? And with just enough gas to avoid fuel starve in a long sweeper, how much would it REALLY weigh?
Thanks.

**Edit** Whoa, what'd I miss? I hope your wife is doing okay, Mike!
Okay, well, I wanted to update everyone..
It has been a really rough few days. I think I last posted about this Friday and quite a bit has happened.
I started the Antibiotics on Friday as directed. They didn't do a damn thing, let me tell you! But we wanted to give them a chance, obviously, so I just played it low and did what I was supposed to. It was extremely difficult to even drink water. Possible, but it hurt. Over the weekend, things got worse. A lot worse. Eating was physically impossible because my throat was so inflamed and drinking even filtered water was pretty difficult and the burning was getting worse. At times I'd literally be laying on the couch having just managed to swallow a sip and I was just clenched up and writhing because it burned that badly. Sunday was the worst of it. About 2am I could no longer even drink water. Couldn't swallow it. Just trying was painful. Early this morning my throat was so constricted that I was having a hard time breathing, so I went back to the doctor. They gave me a shot of heavy antibiotics and sent me to a specialist in Athens. The specialist took a short look at my throat, stepped back, paused and said: Wow...thats IMPRESSIVE! -- I knew it was bad, but he told me this was SERIOUSLY bad. As a result he prescribed me what's basically liquid loratab and some steroids. But, if I'm not getting better by Thursday, I'll have to be hospitalized until they can get it taken care of. Isn't this fun?! Eh... I also haven't slept in many days.
I *should* be at the next meet...though I'll have missed an entire weeks worth of work so I'm not entirely sure about that yet. We'll see. If I do come, I'll most likely be in Sabine because I *HAVE* to get her registered by the end of the week. I'm not sure if that means I have to insure the car until I actually start driving it though...apparently it's some stupid law in Georgia that you have to have insurance on every car you own regardless of whether or not it's road worthy or something. Still have to figure that out.
Well I'm off to enjoy some more pain killer relief.

Collin, you don't have to keep insurance on every car you own. You DO however have to have insurance on any vehicle you register. Before they'll process your car at the tag office, you'll need to have insurance. They've got it electronically, but you'll want a hardcopy, too. Half the time they seem to need the hardcopy.
