Oh man...you wouldn't believe what was wrong!

1. Fixed the leak on the uim
2. Took apart the uim to find any other leaks and recheck the gasket (good)
3. Throttle wasnt closing all the way. The cable was put at an angle kinking it. Had to release the clip on it.
4. Lines connecting to the uim were mixed up. Had to find the diagram to place them in correct spots.
5. Spark plugs weren't in the correct spots. Almost blew my motor bc of the trailings swapped.

Yep....my car was effed. But its fixed. Now to swap tranny, exhaust gasket and replace another gasket and put in the megasquirt :)

I believe AGreen has spread the megasquirt bug.

AGreen 03-14-13 02:31 PM

It's hard to deny how awesome it is, especially the price.

I will be heading to orlando, but the wife and kids won't fit in my convertible. So we're taking the other 7 ;) (the Cx-7)

raksj04 03-14-13 02:42 PM

I hope to have my housings soon. So the rebuild can start.

In anticipation of a Steve Kan tuning, either remotely or live if we can get enough people on board, what is the name and address of the shop you are using for dyno day next Sunday?

Its at tuners inc. In orange park.

raksj04 03-15-13 02:39 AM

The housings should be here tomorrow. The ups guy left a note and I signed it today.

raksj04 03-15-13 06:24 PM

I need help asap. I need one more s4 turbo exhaust port sleeve. I got N/A housing from goopy, they oked it with me 1st. Then after they put them in the mail I asked if goopy was going to send me my turbo sleeve back and i thought shit I forgot to ask. I did send them one N/A and one turbo housing, and since the N/A was in better shape he sent me a core N/A housing to have a matching set.

AGreen 03-18-13 07:48 PM

So it seems like the one turbo sleeve is not going to fit in the NA housing. The turbo sleeve is much thicker, so the roll pin and the sleeve's hole won't line up.

raksj04 03-18-13 09:07 PM

really? could it be because it is jdm??

raksj04 03-18-13 09:12 PM

Agreen I think you need to do a slight megasquirt write up due to the cult following you have started. after the the 7 is back together mega squirt is my next project. and gabe wont stop telling my how confused he is about it.

AGreen 03-18-13 09:42 PM

Why do my own writeup when there are plenty of them out there?

How to MegaSquirt your FC RX-7

FC3S_nataku 03-18-13 09:58 PM

Lol damn just call me out

FC3S_nataku 03-18-13 11:17 PM

whoops weird post

MIDNFauciUSN 03-19-13 05:25 PM

The best part of the write up is the programming section... all of the maps and settings really helps a bunch. Other than that though I don't think I used it for much.

And I got my 10 year icon... woohoo

FC3S_nataku 03-19-13 05:27 PM

I still have 2 years to go on mine lol

That's because you didn't know about it until I pointed it out to you AFTER you built the ECU

I used you more than I used all other sources put together.

BUT... I built Katlin's MS2 in under 6 hours... without any screw-ups! Since I knew about the write up on that site :)

AGreen 03-20-13 06:41 AM

The learning curve is pretty steep, I'll admit that. Once you've done it, doing it again would be a walk in the park (compared to the first time).

AGreen 03-22-13 07:40 PM

Preliminary mock up! This is just with the vent on top of the old one, just to see what it will look like. I'll have to cut the holes for the vents, paint it, cut a huge hole in the hood, reinforce the hood, then rivet it down. That will have to come later though, because I just don't have the time for it... right now.

But, most importantly: no more "Barbara Streissand" vent!

beckrx 03-23-13 04:21 PM

I posted an invite on both the Savannah, GA and Central Florida forums that we are looking for a couple more people for a Steve Kan tuning session.

junito1 03-24-13 11:29 PM

If not, you and I need to arrange a remote tuning session with the man.

Rotarywall 03-25-13 08:34 AM

I just heard about it did the dyno day happen. I'm in for 1 car pending what day. Let me know.
