Something in my motor is mess up. Runs really bad. I am going to do a compression test soon. I talked to two fellow rotor heads and they believe it to be a Fuel issue. Maybe injectors

raksj04 01-07-13 10:14 AM

Is any one selling a running turbo fc short block? I may need one.

junito1 01-07-13 01:33 PM

What happened raksj04?
Have.your done a compression check?

junito1 01-07-13 02:05 PM

Also explain what happened? Was it during.wot? If so, what psi and.whats your fuel.setup again?

Guys with turbos; on very cold nights you need to test how much psi the car will see at peak torque before you do any.spirited.driving. This is when it spikes. Specially the guys with full.exhaust and no additional fuel, even with no boost controller you might see around 11psi in 30-40 degree weather maxing out factory injectors.

Driving back from a bad bad time at IKEA in orlando. Was blowing off some stream on the highway in Hi boost settings, Stupidest thing I did, I was around 14-15psi, I have a stock s4 turbo and 720cc secondaries with a rTek tmic, walbro 255. at about 6k or so before a shift she felt funny, still running pulled over, with her still running I think? or i turned her off to check for loose hoses. I was able to drive her the 120+ miles back from orlando. she shook really bad untill about 4.5k Runs lean as hell I have to come back in 4th gear. went thru a full tank from orlando to here.

I tried to do a compression check but I think I did it wrong I barely got 30psi on number 1 with 0psi on 2. but I doubt I did it right.

I am not sure if it was WOT or not. All I know is I screwed up bad by having the boost too high. I feel like a Idiot and I want to crawl in a hole and die. She is my daily driver.

How do you have a bad time at IKEA? It's self-serve 0.o

I have issues with big crowds. I had to sit in a quiet corner at some point. I have never had it get that bad before.

I have been talking to about this issue as well Agreen, I am sorry if I seem like I am bitching on here. I feel really low, I have no idea how I am going to make it thru this month. Money wise, and travel wise. All I have is my motorcycle now.

AGreen 01-07-13 08:14 PM

I know how the money thing is right about now. There is no word for how broke this guy is  I'd hop in the car to come down and assist with diagnosis, but I have to make this tank of gas last until Friday!

raksj04 01-07-13 10:09 PM

I am so very broke. The is the worst week for this to happen

Just made a PC-based compression tester, you can make your own, or just pay me $50, assuming the car has a working starter; is safely elevated (if necessary for plug access from the bottom); spark plugs are out and fuel-pump disconnected. I will also bring the largest Optima Marine Battery and jumper cables to make sure the starter has enough power to spin at the proper RPM.

I will email you both the raw files and software, and a screen-shot of the results.

MIDNFauciUSN 01-09-13 02:33 PM

Jmoc is starting a 1st saturday of the month breakfast meet too... location will vary.

raksj04 01-11-13 08:22 PM

So tomorrow I am going to look at a truck that maybe my parts getter and my DD. I am starting to look for a replacement engine for the FC, I am not 100% sure but my gut tells me that I lost the apex seals on number 2. I checked the coolant and the oil and they both looked fine to me. It is still weird How lean she is running right now.

MIDNFauciUSN 01-11-13 09:19 PM

damn son... that sucks. you going to replace with another 13bt?

If I can find one with in budget. Or I may just do a 6 port turbo. mmaaayyybbe.

ondabirdhouse 01-11-13 10:13 PM

I'm not to familiar with those older model 13b but wouldn't the 6 port turbo produce more power then the 4 port due to increased airflow? or are the compression ratios and others things different?

I'm kind of limited in knowledge to my 13B-REW

raksj04 01-11-13 10:48 PM

6 port has higher compression, it is hard to tune with the ports opening and closing. so I heard it is best to wire the ports open. or remove the shelves

ondabirdhouse 01-11-13 11:07 PM

I just saw a photo comparison. removing the shelving makes it look a lot like the REW style port. very interesting.
