NOPI NATIONALS 2007 (Sept 15-17): Hotel and Show info for our RX7/Supra/Viper group!

September 14-16, 2007
NOPI Nationals Group at Atlanta Motor Speedway & Hotel Info:

EVERYONE feel free to join our 'www.SpeedForSale.com Group' at the '2007 NOPI Nationals' event! This event is held at the Atlanta Motor Speedway and is the largest car show in the country with over 110,000 people and 7500 show cars! In attendance there will be television stations (ESPN, SPEED, TunerVision,etc), top tuner shops/cars, models, magazines finding feature cars, and concerts by Skid Row and Ludacris (if you are into that stuff ) Our group always has a great time (especially at the hotel/dinners at night), and it's always great to see the out-of-town people that you only get to see each year at this event!

Last year, our 'Speed For Sale.com Group' won the 2nd largest club award with 51 entries (PICTURES HERE), along with many individual awards including 1st place in Supra (street), 2nd & 3rd in Supra (custom), 1st & 2nd & 3rd in Vette/Viper/GT/Saleen, and more! Come out and join us so we can get 1st place this year! The cash prize will help pay for bigger/better payouts and prizes at future SpeedForSale.com events, and also helps pay for the free food/water we give out at the NOPI show!

The Meyers brothers from NOPI once again gave us the prime exposure location at the event, and we have the best spot in the show reserved for us - the entire fenceline along the main entrance way (ROAD-L.) Everyone registered in our group gets free food and drink, not to mention shade from the sun under our 20'x20' tents that we'll have set up along the fence, along with six or eight 2' fans to cool the area! We've done this the past six years and had a nice turnout of Supras, RX7, 300ZX, Vipers, Saleens, and other sports cars. If you are staying with our group at the hotel or show, please feel free to post up here saying so.
BELOW IS INFORMATION ON HOW TO JOIN OUR GROUP AT THE SHOW & HOTEL!

NOPI SHOW:
The show is Saturday, September 15 and Sunday, September 16. If you are entering your car in the NOPI Nationals show and want to join our group, do the following when registering:
1. Go to the registration form here--> http://register.nopi.com/dsp_nncarregistration.cfm (if that link doesn't work, try www.NopiNationals.com )
2. select 'SpeedForSale.com' as your CLUB NAME from the drop down list
3. choose the 'Car Show' Event.
4. choose the 'ROAD-L' Parking Area.
You can get a spot for your car in the show and TWO passes for $85. But, if you just buy one ticket for yourself without entering a car it's $55.
You are better off getting a spot in the show for $85, then get someone to split the $85 with you. You'll have your car in the show which is nice (less walking, free drinks/food, music, etc) and pay LESS than if you didn't enter your car.

HOTEL:
OUR HOTEL ROOMS WILL NO LONGER BE AVAILABLE AFTER SEPTEMBER 1, SO BE SURE TO BOOK BEFORE THEN IF YOU WANT TO STAY WITH OUR GROUP!
Our hotel rooms are reserved from Friday, September 14 until Sunday, September 16. We have a block of 35 rooms reserved for our group at the same nice 'Quality Inn & Suites' that we stayed at last few years (Hotel info here) You can reserve your room for only $95/night by calling 770-957-5291 and telling them that you are staying with the "SpeedForSale group" and if you have any problems ask to speak with Beverly or Pam, as they are very aware of this group coming. Also, I can get us more rooms if needed.
Each person staying at the hotel gets a FREE hot breakfast each morning (eggs, etc) and one free cocktail drink each day at the hotel's own lounge/restaraunt/bar INSIDE the hotel which is very nice. It also has wireless/wired internet access, a pool, an exercise room, and more. Also, the hotel is located directly beside the interstate on-ramps (which is good news for those of you who want to 'play.')
We will also be hosting a dinner at the hotel restaraunt/lounge Friday and Saturday night at 8pm, so come join us even if you aren't staying at the hotel!

On Friday, Oct. 19 I have rented the road course 'Little Talladega' (www.TGPrace.com) with everyone getting a FREE experienced instructor to ride along with them all day for only $125/car with 40 spots available. Saturday, Oct. 20 will be at Steele 1/4 mile drag strip ($15/person) with a mobile dyno ($50/car) and car show (FREE) in the parking area with CASH prizes for the winner of each event! I will be posting information about this in a separate thread in the next week or so, but if you want to register for any of the events NOW you can call or email me as everything is already set in stone!

This year I promise we will server burgers and hotdogs to all of those in our group. There was a mixup last year that prevented us from doing so. We had a huge turnout last year and I hope to see some new fds there this year.

For those who have only heard that Nopi is all rice and no nice cars you have been mislead. There is a lot of rice but our section alone last year was worth coming to check out. A lot of knowledgeable rotary guys and supra guys attended with some really nice cars.

Id love to come again also, however ill be in a 06 STi more than likely as my 7 is currently in a non-running condition is this acceptable?

It's looking like we're going to have a great group this year as well! We are currently #1 for most cars registered at the NOPI Nationals, and there is a lot of chatter on other forums about our group. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

We are on the paved Road L on the other side of the fence from the rest of the groups (who are in the grass/gravel), which is a top visibility area! Everyone who enters the show will be driving by our area when they come and go...see you there, it looks like this year's turnout is going to be very big!

ATTENTION:
Please make sure to book your hotel room before September 1, otherwise the remaining rooms in our group not taken will be lost and the rate will go back up to $125/night!
Also, Mark Meyers from NOPI told me that the rates for show registration will be going up within the week, so be sure to register now if you want to save a bit of cash.

Also, our group is still in 1st place for number of registrations with 34! Last year we got 2nd place with ~50 cars, so this year's group is looking like it's going to be HUGE!

I should be bringing a crew of at least 4 cars this year. I was impressed with the accomodations last year... for what we paid, it was awesome

Hey Jeremy, watch out for Nico, seems they have a mission. lol. Their is a group of Nico guys that may team up with our crew as they go through Nashville that will be tagging along. That'll be funny.

i got with mark meyers of nopi about changing where im parking and to be in with your group and he told me i would have to wait till the day of the show.

my concern is there will not be any more spaces left by then. can you hold me a spot??

I already registered and will be there early. If it fills up, I can always move my car out to slide yours in. Don't worry about it.

We are up to 61 cars in our group and are still in the lead. I'd hope NICO would win since there are about a million Altimas, 240SX, and other Nissans out there and our group is very small in terms of production numbers of the primary cars involved just kidding, I know of few of the NICO guys and they are a good bunch.

We'll have room left in our group regardless of size, Mark has promised me that. No worries, just be sure to get there early and stress that you want to be transferred to our club name. However, after noon on Saturday, I cannot guarantee room in our group...

YES, the cut off date is September 10! Be sure to register before then!

ATTENTION EVERYONE:

As of late last week, the hotel our group is staying at is now completely booked. We booked ~40 rooms, even though we only had 35 reserved (management gave us a few extra.)

IF YOU WANT A ROOM AT OUR HOTEL, PLEASE EMAIL ME AT BLACKWELL@SPEEDFORSALE.COM ... I HAVE AN EXTRA ROOM, AND IF ANY OTHER ROOMS OPEN UP THE HOTEL MANAGER WILL BE GIVING THEM TO ME AND I WILL PASS THEM ON TO YOU!

There are usually ~10 rooms that get taken the last few days before the event. So next year, we'll likely be reserving 60 of the 90 rooms at the hotel for our group (30 are always reserved for a railroad contract group for that weekend each year.) And for next year, management suggested setting us up a banquet at the restaraunt / bar inside the hotel that will be fully staffed for quick service. They are happy that we are doing this, and today the manager told me that over the past couple years our group has been much nicer and more civil than the "typical crowd" they've seen in the past. The hotel staff and manager are always very pleasent and easy to work with, and are the best staff I've ever been associated with at any of our events.
