new fd owner :)
hello all,
i am a new fd owner and am so excited about owning it. just thought i would let you guys know and i would like to know of the other owners around the atlanta area. i am actually in sandy springs up ga400. anyways, i am in the process of putting my fd together. i bought a shell and bought a recently rebuild running engine to install. right now i am stuck on the rats nest, as i want to run the car stock until i get a pfc to start deleting stuff and pass emissions and whatnot. heres my problem- my engine setup did not include the "pressure chamber". can i run the car without it? or will i need it to run my car properly? i noticed i have the vacuum chamber but not the pressure chamber... also, i have read and studied the colored vacuum diagram to help with the rats nest, and cannot figure out where the 2 turbo actuator hoses attach to... would anyone local like to help? i have beer!
thanks, marlon

if you are running stock turbo setup, and yes, you will need the pressure chamber. The 2 turbo actulator hoses will be attached to the bottom of the hard lines coming down close to the OMP. Which turbo actulator hoses are you talkin about? The waste gate control or the turbo pre-control?

Nice. Well I just got my pressure chamber and back at it again. Now just 1 hose from the actuator needs to find a home- the other one goes to the pressure chamber... Any suggestions? The vacuum diagram gets fuzzy on that part :/

Aaron,
check out the simplified seq. diagram vs the stock diagram
http://www.banzai-racing.com/vacuum_...eplacement.htm
just pretend the emission solenoids are not there, and trace the colored lines to where they belong. All the lines from the actulators will have to go to a solenoid of some sort and via either vacuum or pressure to trigger the solenoids to control boost. The rest of the stuff you do not see on the simplified seq. diagram are just emission junk you can get rid of and your car will still run. If you still have the stock rats nest with all the vacuum lines attached, it will be kinda hard to follow. I would suggest just run the simplified diagram if all your rats nest is out already.
Hope this helps

Hey guys finally started the car yesterday! Only for 15 sec max though- one of the oil cooler lines wasnt tight and was spitting oil so I had to shut her off. Fixed it, and tried to start her again, but I guess I flooded the engine so I ended for the day. A few questions though. 1. I changed my slave cylinder, bled it, but there is still no pressure on my clutch pedal any ideas for this? Also, my intake is the apexi intakes, there is one line that is still open. I also have the air pump line open(coming from the back of the air pump) and the big line open from the back of the lim. Anyone have a hose diagram for this? I have 3 open lines, do not know where they connect to :/

How did you manage to flood the engine on the FD? It is kinda tough to flood a stock REW with stock injectors and stock ECU unless your injectors or injector orings were crap. Also, the Apexi intakes have 5 open lines, 2 of them are for the BOV and CRV, and i think 1 for the airpump...not hard to figure that out at all, and yeah, where is the picture???
