Mountain Run to Gorges State Park 3/22

Bump
The weather is looking good for this Saturday (partly cloudy and 72). We'll firm up plans for the ATL people to meet for the ride up. Holly's suggestion about meeting at the Cracker Barrel on Hwy 53 (Winder Hwy) off 85 seems like a good idea. It is not that far north of the 985 split.
Holly, when we get off 85 will we go towards Road Atlant to get to the Cracker Barrel?

MapQuest says its about 2.5 drive to the park from Lawrenceville. If we left Cracker Barrel at 9 we should make it to the park comfortably by noon. If some want to meet for breakfast at Cracker Barrel, I think we should meet there at 8.
I'll get some more maps and directions posted for everyone in the next couple of days. The park web site (in this thread) has good directions. Remember we will be entering through the Frozen Creek Rd. entrance. The other park entrance is closed for rennovations.

Could somebody mapquest that? (and provide the link). My mapquest shows there is no Cracker Barrel where 53 crosses 85:

There is a Cracker Barrel in Commerce at Rt. 441 North, which is a scenic highway that heads up to the campsite.

I'm gonna try to make this one, guys. My FC's finally fixed, but a CV Joint's leaking a little bit. But that should be fixed by Saturday, so... And so what's the time to meet at Cracker Barrel?- 9AM?

OK I checked the 85/53 intersection this morning on my way into work and there is a Cracker Barrel there. Still I would recommend scenic Route 441 for the drive up, it goes through lots of interesting landscapes (instead of Gainesville and 985) and it would probably be faster than going up 53, which just drives by a bunch of housing developments.

The Plan
The plan is arrive at the Frozen Creek Rd entrance of the park around noon. Everyone is on their own for food and drinks. Parts swaps are encouraged. We may figure out a nice local drive to take, if people are up to it. There you have it.
For those in ATL who would like to carraven up here is the plan (of course we are open to suggestions):
8:00 - For those who would like to meet for breakfast and watch Ray apologize to Holly for doubting her, meet at the Cracker Barrel at the I85, GA 53 intersection.
9:00 - Leave from Cracker Barrel at the I85, GA 53 intersection.
~11:30 - Arrive at Gorges State Park
12:00 - Meet and eat. Admire our wonderful cars. If some locals show up, maybe a nice drive around the area. Everyone is on there own for food and drinks.
Depart - whenever you want.

Ray has suggested goint up GA 441. This would mean going North on 85 to 441 instead of going over to 985. We can discuss this at breakfast.

Holly!
This sounds like a lot of fun! I have a friend coming in to town and it is Easter so I'm not sure if I will be able to attend. I will try to find out what my friend is up to on Saturday and see if I can't work something out. (hehehe, and you thought I wasn't paying attention)

Well I am forced to work this Saturday
Apparently someone decided to go on a cruise and management forgot to put that in the schedule. Comcast is a wonderful company to work for.

Chard, I emailed you and then I read here that you were paying attention.
Zach, I haven't talked to Jeremy lately. If you get a hold of him, tell him about this run.
Ray, as Mike says I will show up for apology at Cracker Barrell.

Your tellin me... We have been rescheduling people left and right because we do not have any wireless cards, HD-DVR's, or Digital boxes. Which means if we get any jobs that require them, tough luck. All we have in stock are HD, Modems, and Routers.
It has been this way for about 2 months now. Comcast needs to get off its lazy *** and ORDER.
