Funny story about that vid, I ran into that guy at DGRR a couple weeks ago. I believe he said he's the original owner and when he first bought it all he was going to do was an aftermarket intake or something along those lines) the rest he was going to keep stock...haha! That plan was executed poorly! It's an amazing setup

So Long calls me up and tells me about this 3rd gen that Zack built the engine in. I like to give anybody the benifit before passing judgement................
But, lets face it. We're talking about Zack. Josh sends me a pic of the "bridge porting" that was done on this engine. Oh my god. I'll let Josh post some pics later. The Rotary gods are not happy.......

Rotor or No Motor

Plus The Porting's Crap!!!! And It has One
FC and One FD Housing. Plus the Engine Was Full Of Coolant. Where It's NOT Suppose to be!!
The oil pan Bolts were Falling out, Oil leaks every where. And Was Suppose to have 3mm ALS Apex Seals,
But has 2mm apex seals, That are Unknown!

nice yeah my motor was worse then this, both my housing were fc, not even sure if i had fd rotors a lot of other stuff was missing in action. oh yeah and the place he was building my car at he stop going and paying the sip owner for his space and the shop owner took out a lean on my car. The good guys at rotorsports had to build me a complete new motor here is what Bryan owner of rotorsports sent me.....Your 1993 Mazda RX7 originally came with and is designed to use the 13B-REW twin turbo engine.
We have your engine tore down & inspected, here is what we found:
*The Engine Rotor Housings installed were not the correct type. The ones used in your engine were from earlier model RX7 turbo (Series 4 rotor housings-used in '87-'*T88 model turbo 13B engines) the problem with using these rotor housings-the sparkplug location for the "Leading" ignition plugs is incorrect, resulting in the ignition timing being incorrect when used in your model car- the engine computer thinks the sparkplugs are in the correct location and causes the ignition timing to be constantly "advanced", this can cause engine damage -(especially when turbo is in use and engine is under boost!) I have attached pics of both types of rotor housings showing the difference in the sparkplug locations. (The 13B-REW housing is the cleaned & painted one on left)
* The engine "side" housing intake ports were not ported- instead small holes were drilled to create additional "ports" - but these additional "ports" contribute very little (if any) performance gains, and caused the engine to run rougher by increasing intake port timing. The factory OEM intake ports were untouched- these are what should have been ported instead! The original side housings are now ruined & un-useable.
Pictures attached.
*The engine rotors are also incorrect earlier model turbo rotors (Series 5 turbo 13B rotors- used in '89-'91 turbo 13B engines) these have similar compression ratio & weight as the correct rotors, but do not have the hardening process that the factory engineered into the correct engine rotors (used in the '93-'95 13B-REW twin-turbo engines) and also have a different shaped combustion chamber.
Picture attached
Your engine was a combination of different parts from various model turbo engines, the combination is not compatible and would not function properly in your model RX7.

Ha ha ha........ That's some funny **** right there!
Zack never laid one of his sorry fingers on Longs FB. Long built, I ported. On 21 pounds he made over 500 to the wheels. Zack couldn't touch that in his wildest dreams.
