Well guys i hit another snag with the se today, I went out to crank the car (tried to yesterday and the starter just clicked so i figured the battery was dead.) well i tried again to crank it today with the dodge hooked to it and it still just clicked. so i rolled it off and it started up nice and ran nice, took it for a lil drive and when i got back, cut it off and tried to start it again with no luck. so i rolled it off again and drove it again and brought it back and cut it off and noticed smoke coming from under the hood? couldnt see any leaks just a few residual things...any ideas? I am thinking starter is gone out if anyone has one.

Check your terminals, make sure they are good connection and not crusty.

Also check the spade terminal on the starter, mine fell off once. Just slid it on and all was well.

I have a starter if yours is bad.

you could take a good battery with a set of cables with you under the car and hook it to the starter and see if it spins over....first making sure the ca r isint in gear.....10 times.....or pull it off and take it to advance and have it tested....if I had know there was going to be some dukes of hazard type **** I would have tried harder to have an rx7 on the road

DJ You can also try Ray Crowe @ Malloy Mazda. 1-888-533-3400 They are a dealer but Ray is the parts manager and owns Rx7's. They keep just about everything instock for FC and FD If not, they can have it within 2 days and shipping is usually only 10 bucks. I paid 12 shipping when I had my FD front fender shipped Awsome guy to dwal with, knows the part #'s by memory for almost everything.

Just got back from China Grove doing some parts hunting. That place is intresting..All that is missing is a toofless kid pickin a banjo and your on the set of deliverence Intresting yard too. Makes PAP look like a 5 star resort for junk cars

Stu-tron, There are a couple S4's there.Rads and all. I Didn't look too closely as it was hotter than a sheepdogs ***** out.!! All the 7's have there engines.....for now I was able to grab the Brake booster and master cylinder/proportioning valve for the new rear end that will be goping into the FB. I may go back and grab some + wheels There was a swarm of red around the FD when I got back to it I Had to fight them off with books and spelling questions!!

Stu: Malloy is in VA. Dave is talking about Ray shipping to Dave's house. Malloy has the best prices for dealer parts, so even paying shipping, you usually come out ahead.

Ah. Never heard of them. I usually use Montgomery Mazda here (only dealership within like 50 miles, and I CAN WALK THERE WOOOOO!) and I get free shipping, SCCA/CMC Discounts/free labor etc.

Just got done sanding all the "little" parts from the engine bay. The brake booster and m/c. The clutch master and slave, the hard pipes for the heater line and brake booster. Also the battery tray. They all got a nice coat of POR15 to stop the rott. Then tomorrow they get a coat of high build primer, sanded, and sprayed gloss black duplicolor high temp. The radiator shrouds are also getting this tomorrow, I am too tired now to deal with it. .. But a stupid dancing show may be on TV tonigt and will motivate me to get the hell back outside

What are your thoughts on POR15 for undercoating? I don't want to go all Michelangelo on it.

EDIT: Undercoating as in under the car. I think Robbie did this? WHERE ARE YOU

Kory, On the 2 GSL's that I sw today, they both had a/c compressors. Are they the same one as the SE? It had hose attachments on the rear of the comp. And you already got the cops called on you...? Good job!
