i had the same problem when i installed a new slave cyl too. for some reason it started working after I started the car while in 1st, clutch in. its probably just air in the lines that need to be worked out. have you tried just pumping the pedal?

my pilot bearing shattered into a million pieces and wouldn't let my car go into gear while the engine was running. to get it home we had to start it in 2nd gear and have Ben and Tony push me off while i was turning it over. lol.

masin: i bleed it by having loosening the 8mm bolt on the slave cylinder and putting a hose over it, then i run the hose to a small container where it is lightly submerged in brake fluid. then i get a friend to pump the pedal till the air bubbles are gone, i tighten the bolt and pump the pedal again. then i loosen the bolt and repeat the smal procedure.

jamin: well i have tried starting the car in first and it wont work.

allen: did your car go in gear when it was off?
and when you turned it on did it not go in gear and grind when putting in reverse?

According to the tranny service manuals that I've read, they say not to pump the pedals when bleeding the clutch like you do when bleeding the breaks. I've never bled the clutch on an FC, but the clutch systems I'm familiar with, bleeding the clutch is a PITA.

Did you bench bleed your new master and slave?

I'll take a medical hose and put it on my openned bleeder valve, run that hose to a catch can, from the catch can, take another hose and connect to a vacuum port on your intake mani. Crank your motor and watch that SOB suck your clutch line out. Just have someone with a quart of fluid near by so your reservoir doesn't go dry.

Other than that, just have someone push the pedal, open the bleeder valve, shut, and release the pedal. Repeat.

it will suck up the fluid if the can gets full. just make sure you keep a close watch on the levels and take your time. your pedal may also need to be adjusted. it may not be pushing out far enough to dissenguage the clutch. when i replaced the slave on my car, it wouldnt go into gear for the longest time, then i adjusted it and it works like a charm.

how did you install your pilot bearing? did you even install one?

and yeh i had kenneth help me with the swap.........

and me and allen already had a talk about him.ha

i didnt ask who did it, i asked how you did it. did you use a tool or did you just shove it in there? it is very easy to damage.

I can come by an pick it up.
Who has it?

Also, how long is that driveshaft?
Mine is about 3ft +/- 2in, rough measurement.

andrew did you check the pressure plate to see if it is screwed up? from what i an tell the N/A Slave might work but im not sure i think the mounting points are further back on a T2 slave thus the N/A slave sits further inwards so it might work.

the n/a slave cylinder you puit on it was pushing the throw out bearing way to far in.
so either my fork could be bent.*which is hardly possible*
or the pivot ball might have broke.
