I wonder how long it's going to take before we start seeing a lot of alternate fuel stations here in Florida that carry E-85.

When I lived in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil back in '89-'90 all the cars ran on 1 gallon of gas and the rest was alcohol.. maybe that might catch on here in the USA.

We got more 7-11's around here, like prostitutes. They're on every corner. 7-11's are basically the ***** of Orlando, or basically Florida. As far as gas prices goes, there's only one gas station that stays at $2.25....and that's no 7-11. This is where owning a Saturn comes into play. It takes my mom a flipping 20 dollar bill, to fill up her tank. That's economical for you.

As far as oil goes, if someone played the stock market, they would've seriously banked on oil, now. And I mean BANKED.

If you think that any political party, including third or independent parties, give a damn about the electorate then you’re delusional. Proof in point, check out Al Gore’s Occidental Petroleum deal.

OK, I agree with your first statement on 2 parties being the same. 3rd, 4th, whatever alternative party there is [i.e.] Greenparty starts out, being able to alter change and prosper, after they are somewhat established. Thus, the problem is they are confined to work inside the very parameters of law that they are trying to change! So, after a while they begin to look like others, but it started out as a grassroot operation that did reflect the electorate [people]. Anyway back to today, $71.80 per barrell a new record high, up .95 from yesterdays record. I have a suggestion that was used during the gas boycott in the seventies, but i don't believe it would work these days as more people would say they cannot do without for 1 day due to economics. Involves radio stations, press coverage, colleges etc. to get it done. How about the deficit anybody want to tackle that

It's over a dollar a Litre in Ontario,Canada..lookin at over 4 dollars..CDN..for a gallon..Sort of glad that the car is gettin repaired right now ..it is actually saving me money..(by sittin in my drive-way!)..and Gas Price fluctuates here..so by the Time I get it "repaired"(5-lug swappin),the gas will be back to "normal" Price..around the 85-95 cent a Litre mark

I was standing in line listening to people complain about spending almost $3 on gas, then they ordered a $5 cup of coffee. How much is starbucks a gallon?

I payed $3.08 at the Chevron near my house, I bet it's gone up since yesterday though. I hate all this crap. Anyone knows if our rotaries can runsafely on e85? I hear its 105 octane.

I run a lot of alcohol when doing emissions testing, but that's only short term then I dilute it more by filling my tank. I don't run it hard when I'm 20% alcohol.
Running e85 on a car not designed for it can dry out seals and cause more problems. Cars equipped to run e85 take about $200 worth of added/modified equipment. Also realize that the higher the ethanol the lower the milage you will get. Where you go 20mi/gal on gas you may only get 17-18 on e85, so does that 10-20% reduction in price pay off when there is a 10-20% reduction in milage and increase in chance you may screw up your car? The best way to get better milage, accelerate slow, rev low, time lights so you don't have to come to a complete stop (if nobody is behind you). But what fun is it having a rotary!

I left on vacation and it was 2.76 for 93. I come back and its 3.15. I was in Jamaica, with the conversion rate, gas over there is actually less than a $1 for 90 octane.
Go figure that.

considering the @ $2.89 for 87 oct. gas is still affordable. too many people waste their hard earned monies on frivolous items...bottled designer water @$1.50 for 20oz.!!!! , a 10 oz. cup of coffee for $1.25 !!!, a 2 liter Coke or Pepsi(sugared, carbonated tooth and digestive tract garbage for $1.25!!!, etc, etc. we all spend considerably more $$ on junk if you think about it. gas prices still are lower here than in other industrialized countries.

I dont care how much other stuff cost and some people say its still "cheap" I know one thing I have two RX7 to put gas in witch driving only back and forth to work is close to 100 bucks a week so go figure thats about $400 month on gas compared to $100 bucks a month 2 years back.

Sounds like you are a good candidate for a cheap civic or similar. It would pay for itself in fuel savings relatively quickly.

I live 3 miles from work. That is a good way to save on gas as well.

Ye I am considering something like it. A buddy of mine has a CRX with a B18 turbo pushes somewhere 300whp and the sad thing is he still gets 38mph in the city and about 45 highway I would get one too if I could fit in one.
