Emissions Testing NC

I'm moving to Charlotte, NC over the summer and I was wondering what I had to do to get my car inspected and is there any emissions testing? I'm currently not running any catalytic converters..

Thanks,
-Crispin

emissions testing is for 96 and later models. but with yours you will have to pass a safety inspection, seatbelts, horn, lights etc. and most check the cats so they might give you a problem unless you find the right inspection shop. i have a friend on south blvd that can probably get you past that though.

Do you think as long as a put in a catalytic converter I should be alright? They won't test me? Whether the converter actually does anything or not..?

I really appreciate it.

no as long as its there your good. they save the emissions testing for the 96 and up models. most shops just want to see it on there when they do a safety inspection.

PM me. I can point you at a shop close to me that will just make you turn
on the lights, signals and honk the horn. They don't even put it on a lift or look at the
engine bay, ever. I think for 10 bucks its not worth the money for them, so they
just do the basics. I love the place.

I reaLly appreciate it guys. I'm not moving till the end of the summer, I'm going to the Universal technical Institute. I don't want any trouble. Just want to get it inspected and be done regardless of what my car has on it. I'll be joining the local
7 club when I'm there for sure, as I'm in a club Rotary club here in Joplin. Excited to see what's there, there's not a lot of Rotards around here.
